    One thing Brood War did REALLY right is it is very easy to see which individual unit is being targeted by enemy fire. That massively helps the micro and increases the drama...well...dramatically.

    Tbh, #1 remove the attack dog, its stupid, #2 remove the Animation or speed it up by 75% with the mechs taking a while to line up their gun, when the medivac dropped it did nothing for a good 1-2 seconds. #3 the artilery shoots too slowly, make the projectiles faster, #4 Fix the god damn Wc3 Camera Angle, #5 give the map Ramps and Hills like in Sc2 more High Ground over low ground gameplay, #6 Remove ALL the Trees if ur not going to make them into a Resource, Wc3 had Trees and Goldmines, theese resources DO NOT BELONG in a RTS. Give us more Resources, Types of Resources, Gas, Minerals, Goldminerals, Other NEW innovative ideas, and give us more fast paced gameplay, Less Tiny units running through Tree/Brushes and Larger units breaking the brushes with abilities, Give us more innovative Gameplay, ive already played Warcraft 3 , using Catapults to break down Trees is not fun and enjoyable Gameplay, give us more Bunkers, Defensive Wall-offs, more Mobile Bases, more entertaining Gameplay features to play around with, such as SC2 liftoff ur base to have a different Starting location.
    Tbh i will pick Sc2 over this game if it remains in the current Wc3 mindset, and i Loved Wc3 when i was 14, but now im 34 and i need something better than that cartoon of a game, even League does not appeal to me anymore because it simply doesnt play as well as Sc2 does, Sc2 will always be King even though the Devs ruined most of it, its still Worth building off.
    i would give this a 3/10 and god help them, if they add heroes and creep camps 2/10 if they make the BEST out of what they got it will be a 5/10 at best.

    i was hoping for alot of Diverse units, seems like alot of theese units need some fine tuning, the artilery needs to fire faster projectiles, the smaller units look like they snowball over larger units because of the Size, clumped up marines vs 1-2 mechs the mechs dont stand a chance even if they cleave hit shit. if its going in the direction of Wc3 needs more Melee units, more diverse units, meta will be spam marines with guns and side step into everything, micro avoiding slow af artilery, the Building looks realy bad, needs more Sc2 detail, less Wc3 building animation bs, the workers mining nodes look dumb af for a wc3 esque game, needs more Starcraft 2 minerals/resources or rare resources required to build specific tier 2 - 3 units maybe found in expansions on the map, make the game more RTS fighting over resources, than dumb Hero abilities to charge through brushes.
    The map looks too much like Wc3 need to take a Large step back from that and make more SC2 esque maps, more Air units and Anti-air Turrets, current turrets look like Dogshit, also Remove the Attack Dog from the game it looks dumb af let us simply Worker scout if we want to early scout, make it mean something over u get a free scout unit its dumb.

    I wish resource gathering was more like Dune 2, where harvesters collect from fields of spice. That makes map control more important and the game more dynamic than holding static choke points.
    They should definitely cherry pick all the best pieces from every previous RTS.

    It looks alright, but nothing too inspiring that would make me look forward playing it. Hopefully, other map designs won't look so bland.

    Rts needs lore and context. Aoe has historical lore. Sc is the ultimate scifi lore. Command and conquer had an awesome alternative earth lore. Need context to understand why mechs and attack dogs are both on a battlefield. Stuff like that

    Tbh if they just Fixed SC2 Maps we wouldnt even need this Wc3 Spin-off Moba it doesnt look all that good to me, i had high hopes for a SC2 RTS something that would take us Further and not Backwards in time, Wc3 Esque gameplay with Futuristic units doesnt look all that appealing, i want more Sci-fi in my games. whatever this is, its not innovative or new, its everything we already have and have seen before, re-labled and slapped into a mixer and here is your brown unappealing tasteless smoothie.

    Wanted to give a bit of info to you abour your predictions.
    1. Hero or Commando units will NOT be in 1v1, rather they'll appear in 3v3, 3vE, and Campaign exclusively.
    2. On the topic of 3v3, yes its confirmed there will be a drastically different ruleset that pushes rts more towards a fun 'party game' atmosphere. Think multiple objectives (winning by zone control points rather than elimination), respawning main bases, and of course the previously mentioned heroes.
    Im super excited as I'd love a game with good pathfinding and controls like StarCraft 2, but with a large variety of modes.

    The explosions make it too hard to tell what is happening.
    They could have distanced themselves further from Warcraft 3 by using a sci-fi map.

    I am excited about the game. Sc2 LOTV frankly was a big dissapointment and I have barely played since 2015 so this is the chance of an RTs as popular as sc2 was in WOL and HOTS.

    I wish someone would make a new RTS more like General - Zero Hour. And with the highest graphics and super fast snappy unit movement/control.

    What do you think about the RNG of misses in an RTS? Like if a unit has high ground or is in cover?

    At first impression I really like the trees and environment interaction where some units can move thru trees and others can cut them down. That adds a strategic dimension that is barely utilized in SC2. I Hope there is more like traversing rivers, rough ground, etc.
    OTOH, that makes map balance way more swingy.

      I was going to, but I thought it might grow on me.
      It ia not as "oblique" if that's the right word.
      Brood war and SC2 are almost 45 degrees and Stormgate is more like 80 degrees (almost straight down).
      It was really jarring at first glance.
      In WC3 you could change the camera angle iirc.

    Could make heroes a selectable toggle. Join hero or non-hero games as desired.
    I didn't mind heroes. I wasn't big on having to creep and buy items.
    The one thing I really didn't like was how the "heroes" always had to be cowards due to the huge penalty when they die.

      i think Heroes and Creep camps should stay in Wc3 and never leave that game, they were dumb in that game and are still dumb today, it was fine for a Single player playthrough of a RTS not a multiplayer experience.

      multiplayer RTS should always be about unit counters and resource / base management. C&C Had Harvester gameplay, Wc3 has dumb running around and creep camps, randomly meeting ur opponents army in the middle of nowhere in the fog of war in an open field.
      The worst thing u can do to an RTS is making the Resource gathering focused on stacking workers on a single goldmine, it needs to be more Mobile like the Sc2 Liftoff mechanic, more Resources to manage more versatile buildings and units.

      I think Heroes will just make the game worse. The truth is Warcraft 3 was no where near as good as Starcraft 2, but like I mentioned in the video...maybe CnC-esque Commando type units in end-game would not be that bad. Heroes overall are just bad for RTS lol.

      ​@@Aruze1989 yeh I'm definitely on the no-hero side of things. It's a huge reason why I never even really played Warcraft 3 - also units died WAY too slow, and I forgot to mention in the video that they said they are going to make battles take longer which I also think is a bad idea yet some die hard SC2 critics keep claiming battles shouldn't end as fast - and imo those people THINK they know game design but really are clueless because if the time to kill gets longer on units, the game becomes slow like Warcraft 3 fights.

      They can be very different than the heroes in WC3. The Protoss Mothership Core is basically a hero unit. Not saying that is perfect either. But having powerful single units isn't the real problem in my opinion. It literally spawned the MOBA genre.
      And again, it could be a selectable aspect of gameplay. Players could turn it off for competitive games.
      Just saying most of the problems are things that would be easier to remove than to include.
      Having them being endgame top tier units may be a interesting thing to try. Part of making an RTS a long-term success is how much an audience would be interested in watching it. Late game hero units MIGHT be something to explore.
