what's amazing is that in the MV, hanja 解禁 was on the screen which = haegeum, in terms of "to lift a ban" not 奚琴 = haegeum the instrument. WHICH MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE because the lyrics talk a lot about judgement, prejudice, and being free from all that. something about it is so raw, and honestly, i feel like it's a big fu to those who try to "cancel" grown idols for doing something normal humans do, like him "smoking" in the MV or just dating, or any issues some fans can't accept. "This song is a haegeum" meaning this song is targeting kpop "fans" who always make a big deal out of things that are not even supposed to be controversial HE'S SO ICONIC FOR THIS

It was also mentioned in the documentary SUGA:Road to D-DAY...I believe that's the Follow-up Track, to be out on the 25th. It was there on the posted Promotional Sched for D-Day. Haegum is liberating. He just roasted everyone of us at some point and I guess, the norms of society as a whole. It's a trilogy. In Daechwita, the rebel killed the king. And now a new boss has emerged who killed the rebel (pov: scarred face). The cinematic value of this whole MV is astounding plus how Yoongi can pull off an acting like that! He deserves an Oscar award just like everyone says. 👏👏👏😁

A Thailand ARMY (shout out to Sky_hxneul) was kind enough to educate us and explain that this was filmed in Thailand and that place is called the "Thief Market" Rattanakosin Island's ( Old name of Thailand from 1782-1892) and it was the first international shoping center in the period after the abolition of slavery.. This is how he explained it : so this market came to exist because the people in the palace freed from slavery when they moved out of the palace, they received some goods from the master and also stole some They then brought those goods to sell them in this area. Now we know that Haegeum is a traditional instrument but also means the liberation of the prohibition..

I have a theory - both daechwita and haegeum are interlinked. In the both the songs both agust d, (the young wild one and the king /police officer) are the same persons different inner personalities, the young free spirited wild agust d is the passionate side who wants to create music and do better while the king/police agust d is the egoistic side which takes over agust d (or yoongi's mind) when given power. But he killed the king in daechwita so that his egoistic side died, and passion remains. But it came back as a police officer in haegeum, who again died by the hands of young & wild agust d.. But he died with a smile on his face. Meaning he will come back again.
In conclusion - agust d (or yoongi) kills his ego with his passion for music everytime it overtakes his mind. But since he is a human like all of us it comes back and the cycle continues.
Yoongi needs to be in a movie. He can act and I love his facial expressions throughout the video.

I read somewhere on twitter that the lines "another haegeum" is actually a wordplay meaning 'lifting of a ban' , smthg like doing stuff that is considered illegal
After reading yoongi's interview, it makes us understand the mv better. He said haegeum as it means to lift ban. He wanted to change people perspective in seeing idols. That's why in the mv there's smoking scenes as example, as lots of people find that shouldn't be done by idols, he thinks that's weird mentality if people still criticizing him a 31yo man, on how to act.

Suga said in a countdown video for the release of his alum and MV for Haegeum that when the MV for AMYGDALA is released on April 25th he recommends you watch Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala in one sitting. So familia this mv is daechwita part 2 in modern world. Both of them reborn in the world were the old king, one with the scar is police officer and the other one who killed the king became mafia don. The first fight was planned in order to get rid of the police yoongi. If you look closely the one who calls the police Yoongi is the one who is dipping the other in water, both of them are alliances just like the butcher in Daechwita.

It's the musical instrument used in this song ( this instrument was used in Daechwita as well) and it also means liberation from the forbidden/banned things as well. (they have the same pronunciation)

Hi. This is my take on this. The king from daechwita and Agustd got reincarnated in the present. The king still remains to be a powerful individual in the present. This can be seen when he was coming out of the police station. The police office at the door saluted to him. Agustd in the present seems to be an undercover cop. At first you would think that he's a bad guy but as the mv progresses, you will see that he laid a trap for the reincarnated king. At the end of the video, Agustd was able to defeat the reincarnated king (who is now a corrupt high ranking officer) just like what happened in daechwita. I assumed that the reincarnated king was corrupt because he got pissed when Agustd burned the money he took from the reincarnated king's people. Another proof that Agustd has the role of an undercover cop is the scene at the last part of the mv. He was in a police car but was free to get off of it to eat at a restaurant. Therefore, he is not being arrested but escorted.
As for the song, the words used were very good. I guess he was trying to say that our society is filled with hypocrisy, greed, and jealousy. People only support and believe in things that would benefit them. Our society frowns upon a lot of things (therefore the term forbidden was used). I guess Agustd is saying that it is okay to do such things as long you don't overindulge and hurt others. The real evil people are those like the reincarnated king who use their money or/and influence to benefit themselves even to the point that they are causing harm to society.
In the end Agustd killed the reincarnated king and was supported by the people in scene. I guess Agustd was implying that through his own means (maybe through his songs and good deeds) he will try to fight injustice with the help of the people who agree with his beliefs.
Also the new Agustd doesn't have a scar. I guess this reflects what Suga said in his interview that he has already forgiven those who wronged him in the past. Thus the new Agustd no longer has the scars of the past.
Agustd has transitioned and changed. Perhaps this is the reason why according to Suga, this is the last of the Agustd trilogy.
Well , that was how I interpreted everything, but I may be wrong. LOL.
