    This tutorial covers the basics of using the Wiggle Expression in After effects. We will cover the basics in after effects so that you'll learn how to wiggle your position, rotation, and more. This will allow you to create any after effects wiggle animation you desire!
    This is not your average After effects Wiggle Expression tutorial because we'll also learn how to control and animate it on and off...and we will do all of this in the context of an actual animation.

    dope! thanks for this quick tip. Saved my life.
    I changed the expression to have wiggle controlled per layer instead of the same wiggle effect on a null for all my layers. It gave it more variety... but more sliders to keyframe. ;-)

      Your welcome! Sometimes, going the labour intensive route is worth it for the result...nice work!

    The mechanism is all presented greatly. It solved all my problems. What is funny is that the whole wiggling difference that you are fighting for in your animation is very hard to notice for me, but I'm sure that wiggling is well noticeable for you ;) . Bless :D

      Loved seeing this comment! at this point you have clearly seen both videos on mastering the wiggle so I guess at this point...you're the wiggle master!

    your tutorials are all awesome. just want to point out though you can't simply keyframe the frequency in AE. try it out for yourself and check out the post-expression graph. Dan Eberts at motionscript goes through the whole process of fixing this but I would recommend keeping it simple and only keyframing the amplitude

    • @MotionXP
      @MotionXP  Год назад

      I'm with you, that is why I only keyframe the amplitude!

    Hey is there a way to smoothly end the wiggle? i tried using keyframes but the animations jolt around before coming to a stop ruining the look of the animation.

    I get setting variables to control the wiggle. But you don't even need to do that, all you have to do is type wiggle, pick whip to the freq, slider, then comma, then pick whip again to the amp slider. Done :)
    Also, whats the name of the Outro song

    • @MotionXP
      @MotionXP  10 месяцев назад

      That is absolutely correct!
      I forgot about this song... it's great! Its called "sunny morning" by Bruno. E. Available on yt audio library!

    i really like the way you explained everything in this video, can you make one explaining how to use masks? maybe something like masks for dummies, because i feel that way everytime i try to understand how they work lmao

      Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful. I have thought about doing a deep dive into masks but I wasn't sure if there was demand for it...I will add it to my tutorial list!

    How did you rig out those characters hands / fingers? Was that done via Rubber Hose? Very nice!

    • @MotionXP
      @MotionXP  Год назад

      They are actually just thick strokes and I just animated the path of each one and then offset each fingers animation!

    • @eladbari
      @eladbari Год назад

      @@MotionXP Seriously? I downloaded the project file. It looks like a solid rig. As if some script assisted building it.
      A big circle as the base of the palm + paths for fingers. I can't believe simple strokes+shape layers make this figure.
      (and it runs so heavy on my machine. You need a seriously tank of a computer to animate such thing smoothly, with all these endless layers too...)
      If you ever do a tutorial on how you build & animate these rigs, please do let us know...(no hard in using scripts to speed things up)

    Is it possible to create a randomized wiggle?

    • @MotionXP
      @MotionXP  Год назад +1

      It is random by default! Don't ask me to create a non-randomised wiggle though 😨
