For the last 2 months, Real Madrid has had control in the title race in La Liga. Girona has slowed down after they started the season off hot and while Barcelona are in 2nd place after their recent form, they’re 8 points behind them. During their improvement of late, Real Madrid has continued to get results, they haven’t always dominated teams or been at their very best, it doesn’t matter especially when they just get the job done and have gone 25 games unbeaten in La Liga and haven’t lost a league game in 7 months. Even though they won’t be desperate to win this, Real Madrid knows that they beat Barcelona tomorrow the gap between 1st and 2nd will be 11 points and they want to wrap up the league title very quickly especially since they’re still in the champions league and their focus is on beating Bayern Munich across 2 legs.
Barcelona on the other hand needs to win this in order to make a late push for the title as they won’t fight until the last minute. Their form has been excellent lately they’ve been playing better of late and have managed to win games at ease even if they’re still not convincing and haven’t conceded a goal in the league in over 6 games. They’ve been on a roll of late which is good, I’m sorry, but did you really think that Barcelona were in the title race. The reason I say that is because during the fall and winter period there was a lot of ground that they had to make up for and while that’s not their fault because they had injuries and almost everyone on the team was out of form at the time, with or without a win over Real Madrid tomorrow, it’s still their title to lose. The reason for that is because no matter what result they get tomorrow, Real Madrid won’t choke they won’t do an “Arsenal” where they’re top of the league for that long yet bottle it in the end because it would have to take a miracle for them to win the league. They’re also on the brink of a trophy less season knowing that a loss tomorrow most likely means that they won’t win any trophies this season. Going into this game both teams have had some contrasting results in the champions league: they may have been a man down, Barcelona got knocked out of the Champions League by PSG after being 2 goals up on aggregate, Real Madrid on the other hand advanced to the Champions League semifinals after beating Manchester City at the Etihad for the first time ever on penalties especially after getting outplayed as they managed to hold their nerve in another big UCL game. I feel like Real Madrid have the confidence and momentum going into this game knowing that they can win and they don’t have to be desperate as whatever happens won’t impact their title chances since they’re top of the league with 7 games left and this is a make or break game for Barcelona .

I doubt it, it’s been 4 days since the man city game. You had Carvajal collapse from exhaustion not even making it to the end of that game. I wouldn’t be surprised if Real Madrid had starters on the bench to only bring in if they are needed.

Barcelona is going to go at RM this Sunday because this is the only big game they have to be proud winning this year. That's all they got...they are not winning any trophies this season. ZERO. so it makes sense for them to do everything they can to win Classico. But at the end RM will win 3-1 my prediction.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona tomorrow this matchup is important for both teams in their perspective of the season and the title race. Going into this game with 7 games remaining, Real Madrid are 8 points clear of Barcelona and while Barcelona have enjoyed an upturn in form in the last couple of games and they’ve been trying to make up for the ground that they lost in the winter, if Real Madrid gets a win or a draw tomorrow, then I think that the title race is over. That would mean that they would be 11 points clear of them and after that and even before this game, did anyone really think that there was a title race in La Liga. If Barcelona surprisingly wins, that means that we’d be having a conversation about a title race in La Liga as they would know be 5 points behind Real Madrid and it’s honestly their title to lose assuming they win or draw tomorrow.
It's going to be the most one sided classico in a long time. Madrid will utterly embarrass us.

I’m a Madrid fan and I dont think you need to be this pessimistic. I’m worried our team is fatigued after the intense match in Manchester. Our backup spread thin, Carvajal even injured. Plus there is also the fact that Bayern game is right around the corner. In other words, Madrid might actually choose to not go all out here and would settle for a draw or even a loss. Granted winning this match wont win you the league, but at least it might lift up team spirits.
We will be resting players like camavinga, valverde, maybe Jude or Vini, and Carvajal so it will be closer than you think
