Greatest lyric in music...gets me everytime!: Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here
I love this perspective of how the channel works as it pertains to your interaction with the community. I’m nerdy about whisky but specifically scotch and most of my friends are guys with a couple of exceptions and I love the differences it brings! Thanks for doing this. 🥃
Last year for Boss's day we each threw in some cash and bought our boss several bottles of whiskey. She had never tried Elijah Craig before and her and her husband loved it and it is now there new go to bourbon. So for this year we are giving her an ECBP C922 and a EC Ryder's Cup next month.
Great video, nice that the two of you have found something you are so passionate about. For me and hubby, it's sports, we play corec softball and flag football, never lose. Recently, and he is not much of a drinker, it is great tequila and Bourbon. Love the two of you.
I love the epic songs too! I love a good instrumental in a song. Iron Maiden has some long songs (Revelations, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, and Hallowed Be Thy Name) and Rush has some too (2112, Xanadu, and others).
Im with you. I don’t get to pour a glass very often. I would rather get a little higher priced bottle that I really enjoy rather than a lesser expensive one that I think is just ok. 🤷🏼♂️
Love you guys, your personalities, your format, and your content--especially when you do something a little different like these videos from time to time. There are some great WhiskeyTubers out there, but I like the couple dynamic best! You all, It's Bourbon Night, Whiskey Van, SLB Drinks, Bourbon Junkies... it's more fun than just one person talking to a camera, if you ask me. My guilty pleasure: I keep a bottle of Crown Royal Peach in the outdoor beer fridge that is right near the BBQ, and I take the occasional swig from that bottle when I'm working at the grill.
I am a huge fan of tool. My mother got me into them when i was 14 when she took me to my first show. I have been to many tool shows since 2002 or so. I even got her and i tickets for mothers day for a MN st paul tool show. Love yall and great video
I had it of Erin talking about seagrass and I went to the liquor store and picked one bottle…….Well, I like Josh palate, but I have to give you this one Erin. Barrell’s Seagrass is so good I had to force myself and stop. All the hype is true, just amazing. Enough said.
I was really hoping one of you all would admit to loving a Crown Royal Salted Caramel night cap (no shame of course) or something as a guilty pleasure ha. But I really appreciate your perspective of indulging in an expensive pour as a guilty pleasure. Great content! Y'all are the best.
I totally get it! My wife and I feel that way everytime we plan a vacation. We envision the money gone. I feel that way when I buy a bottle of good bourbon also! Life is about running out of stuff!
First, I’d like to say that watching you two on RUclips with a pour in hand is almost like sitting across the table from you. Love your go to’s. I too love Rae Breed, Elijah Craig store picks and I can’t wait to pick up a bottle of JD SBBP rye. I live about 30 mins from the distillery so thinking about heading over there Saturday to see if they have a bottle. I’d also add Old Forester 1920 and store picks (blue label)to my list of go to’s. Yeah, my guilty pleasures are the hard to get pours like the Old Fitz, Stag Jr., CYPB, etc. I travel a lot for work so I’ll eat cheap and drink expensive and stick it all on my corporate card. Big fan of Tool. Love Danny Carey. Best drummer ever! Also a fan of Tom Morello. So, what local stores do you go to that have BT products like the ER? I found my current bottle in GA driving back from ATL. Yes, the “SJ” is a must! Love your show. Keep up the good work!
Your show relaxes me. It's the chemistry between you two -- genuine and decent. Because I have come to trust your collective palate, I have been looking for Hard Truth high road rye. But alas, no cigar at Angel's Share in Gambrills, Maryland. That's my store and those are my peeps. In the meantime, I will try JD SB Rye, thanks to your recommendation.
Great episode! My palate really aligns with Josh - first loves are Stagg, ECBP, JDSBBP(&R), Russell’s PBS, RR15, etc…. Interestingly, I haven’t find an NBC bottle I love. Can you recommend a bottle that hits like those previously mentioned? Thick, sweet, punchy is where it’s at! Also love what Erin adds & she’s spot on with the RB NCF!
Good video! My guilty pleasure is 80 bucks for cask strength red breast. Other than that maybe an Ardbeg Uigeadail or Lagavulin. As far as Bourbon, probably nothing over $70 maybe whiskey Pig 10 or something Cask strength, Sagamore, Henry MacKenna 10...what is exactly a whiskey nerd anyway....i get maybe knowing what goes into making whiskey, basically stats, but at the end of the day its about the taste and smell. Josh may occasionally talk over Erin, but i think its more of him just wanting to control how he thinks it should go and Erin comes from a different direction he seems to handle a little sternly, like No Soup for You😂😂
I am so with you Josh on Stagg. It is my one BT bottle I will pay for. I have purchased several in the last few weeks and paid about $225 each. I hate doing it but I have purchased $200 bottles at retail that aren’t as good. At least that is how I justify it to myself. On the bright side, in Nor Cal, they seem to be becoming more prevalent. They used to run $300 (no I didn’t ever pay that) and they seem to be coming down some. Cheers to my favorite channel.
i agree Erin Some Jazz ( Classical for me) in the backround is a must and Turnpike Troubadours are the best band to ever band Josh. Tool is pretty solid too tho 😄
Josh, never would have figured you for a Tool fan. I went to school with their original bassist, Paul D'Amour (his best friend lived across the street from me). Love the guilty pours - we all have them and don't care if other people like them or not. :)
I picked up a couple bottles of Rare Breed NCF at the duty free Niagara Falls Canadian side. By far one of the best Turkey products I've ever tried. And for $30.76 American at that. The best value in bourbon ever!!!
Love these types of videos! Nice work guys! Question- what are your thoughts on the future of bourbon? Maybe what are your predictions for the future of bourbon?
Waited to heart this comment until we could compile the list of questions for the next Q&A video we'll be releasing at the end of the month. Your question will be in there!
Cheers to that! Be sure to ask about bottling your own bottle and try some stuff from the tasting bar that's available in the gift shop too. That way you can try before you buy!
You should get some of Maynards wine for your home. He has 2 lines that are VG. He's way into his wine making... Thinking about Tool, it would go well with Stagg
Im like josh, I like high proof and LOVE SiB's and store picks. Im such a sucker for them. I started collecting around fed 2023, now its march 2024 and i have over 160 bottles. Mostly store picks. Rare character seems to be in my top 3-5. Found north i love, even their batched stuff. The JD SiB SP are amazing, especially the rye. Wish i could find more of the ryes
Josh is the JR and Erin is Jerry “The King” Lawler. Just like they made the attitude era of wrestling what it is, y’all make the whiskeytube world what it is! Much love and respect!
I've seen Tool 3 times in Nashville. Once at a small now defunt club called 328 Performance Hall, Municipal Auditorium, and at Bridgestone.. Lateralus is the greatest album of all time
Heck yes! My first concert ever was Staind at 328 Performance Hall. They played Ænema over the speakers before hitting the stage and put on a great show. It was a fun venue. 100% with you on Lateralus too!
If y’all were as nerdy as me (and maybe old), it would be a spoiler to say that that sample is the answer to life, the universe, and everything. And film got me over the concept of guilty pleasures…be proud of what you love. When ya’ll launched, I started a pool of 24 pairs of double-blind samples…as you know, it does so much to dial in your preferences and dial out the nonsense. Had a Calumet 15 vs 16 over the weekend that was obvious, but so fun. I still keep 12 pairs…that I realized I had been neglecting. I miss some of the “Stuff” as well.
Keep these Q&A videos coming! Great stuff. What are your predictions for the future of bourbon prices? Also, what is the deal with all of the cigar batch bourbons now? What even makes something a sugar batch, and what is your take? Thanks!
Waited to heart this comment until we could compile the list of questions for the next Q&A video we'll be releasing at the end of the month. Your question will be in there!
@@stuffandwhiskey awesome! Looking forward to it. Also…just noticed a typo where I said sugar batch. Obviously I meant cigar batch. But maybe “sugar batch” is fitting for some of the bottles! Cheers!
All of them? I can pick all of them, right? Man, that's tough. All things considered, it would be hard to beat Parabol/Parabola, Lateralus, 46&2, Pneuma, and Descending. The list of honorable mentions would be a mile long after those favorites though.
I notice Josh is throwing that watch around like a SB ring. Tell us, what's the watch Josh? And I'm with you brother, SB's are awesome. I just picked up a Bulleit 104 proof barrel pick today, hoping it's good. My guilty pleasure (and I'm not ashamed of it) is gin. A good Vesper is just so mmmmm... Jazz vs Tool - Sounds like My Little Pony vs Voltron I agree with Erin on the Rare Breed. I'd give it to a friend in NY because if they can find it, it's overpriced. LOL...love the legal disclaimer poof @23:01! @27:33 - Oooo...I was afraid you were gonna say "that schmuck Jeff that writes his comments as he watches..." Love the channel! Keep it up!
We haven’t but I do have a ton of content and thoughts relative to watches and the arc of my collection at instagram.com/stuffandwatches?igshid=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA==
Great content, it’s great to just listen to you both , your smiles and enthusiasm is infectious. I am English living in Mexico with my lovely wife, retired and love scotch and bourbons. The choices her are so limited it’s great to hear you talk about good whisky. Port Charlotte 10 yr is just here and is easily my new favourite, I hope you get some , smoky delicious juice. Going back after 4 years in a few weeks , I have ordered , rare breed , eagle rare , buffalo trace , Russell’s reserve , all ar very cheap fries, ,, the rare breed was 48 gbp , the eagle rare 31 gbp, so easy to find in normal Walmart type supermarkets, will be bringing a few back for sure , yo7 are lucky to have so much choice, Keep the content going , we love it. One question , what is the most you have ever paid for one bottle ? And I am not trying to get you into trouble Josh ,,, enjoy
Waited to heart this comment until we could compile the list of questions for the next Q&A video we'll be releasing at the end of the month. Your question will be in there!
“A lot of money to spend on a whiskey that’s going to disappear…” Man, when you say it that way, we all are literally “pissing money away” on whiskey. 😂 sorry for being crude.
Some of these topics are hot with me right now. Prices for everything have gone up and it’s had an impact on my “hobbies” and guilty pleasures. I’ve had to adjust my spending which has narrowed my whiskey scope. That said, I’ve found more craft and regional distilleries that are REALLY good, easy to find, available, and affordable. So good, that it really made me question why I chase the popular or allocated stuff. To Josh’s point, Stagg is the only allocated I’ve found so far that’s worth a damn… for me. ECBP is the other that I will continue to get because of the value for the product you get. Love TOOL, give Queens of the Stone Age and Eagles of Death Metal a try if you haven’t already. Also, 311… dare you to not smile, dance, jam, or feel good while listening to 311. 🤙🏽
Great bands and great pours all around! And we hear you on finding new things rather than chasing the latest hyped bottle. There’s SO MUCH whiskey out there to explore!
This is just an observation and opinion from a guy who cuts his wife off, finishes her sentences, speaks over, or mansplains for her CONSTANTLY. I have observed this while watching your videos. Josh, in this video, after you say “don’t let you talk”, you talk over or finish her sentence three times in less than a minute. I’ve become more self-aware when I do this to my wife so I think I’m hyper-sensitive to it now and notice it more. Everyone does it, some more than others. I’ve gotten better about stopping myself and letting my wife finish. It’s something a lot of us can improve on. It took someone else noticing me do this and bringing it to my attention for me to realize what I was doing. When I discussed it with my wife, I found out how much it bothered her. Making this adjustment and me being more aware has had a positive impact on our relationship. In Josh’s defense, Erin does it too… just not as much 😊. Like I said, we all do it. Hopefully you don’t take offense to this. I love your channel and content. You guys make my lunch hour tolerable at work so I thank you for what you do. In the spirit of “being good to each other”, consider this me passing on what someone did for me. Hope it has a positive impact.
Fair points, but as a respectful counterpoint, us talking the way we do is our way of engaging in the conversation with each other as active participants who are feeding off of-and echoing-each other (rather than seen as interruptions that bother either of us). All depends on your personalities, conversation partners, and conversation styles at the end of the day. We have fun ping pinging back and forth and it works for us. And one thing is for sure-if either of us is bothered by something the other person is doing, it’s addressed right away. That’s just how we roll.
@@stuffandwhiskey Personality is absolutely a great point. Some more sensitive than others. Love it. You guys keep being you. If it works, then it works.
Catching up on comments and know we've already gotten with you on Discord about this, but wanted to apologize for being behind over here. The charity efforts have been taking up all our time this past week.
Wish I could find Eagle rare up here in WA state under $100. Lower Puget sound specifically! Just started my bourbon journey about 6 mothns now and don't wanna spend that, after hearing all you YT'S say it's mainly 40 bucks where they're at.
Ok last one. This is for Josh. I apologize if I insulted you by saying something to the affect of “let Erin talk”. I know I made a comment like that in the past and will say that I only made the comment because Erin mentioned it in the video. But I definitely didn’t mean to insult you, I thoroughly enjoy your channel and the content and banter you provide. You along with ADHD and The Bourbon Van are the three channels my wife actually enjoys watching.
Zero worries Terrence and you weren't even who we had in mind. You watch and comment all the time and we love to see you in the comments! It's the random guys who have never commented before but are basically looking for Erin to put on some type of show for them that bothers us both. And that ain't you. We love having folks here for the community and that appreciate our dynamic, and we definitely are glad you're here!
Question for you. How many ounces do you pour in the glencairn to get a good feel for what you are sampling? I would like to get 1/2 ounce, but doesn’t seem enough. Edit…I think you answered my question with the 2oz bottles you showed….about an ounce
I won the Ohio bottle lottery which means I can purchase a bottle of Rock Hill Farms on Saturday. Can I get an OH from Erin, and will you be watching the OSU/ND game Saturday night?
I miss the STUFF discussions. I understand that its hard to find stuff to talk about, so maybe just include it once per month? I liked your music and book recommendations. I read The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry because of you guys!
Oh man, that’s a great book! Putting more stuff in the monthly livestreams is definitely where we’ve landed as ways to incorporate that, and we might have a trick or two up our sleeve as well. Stay tuned. 😉
We hear ya. It's hard when you don't really associate whiskey with guilty pleasures. If you like it, it's not guilty in our book, but regularly enjoying expensive pours definitely is a guilty pleasure indulgence.
2:31 I've had a taste of a higher proof Hard Truth rye - i disremember just what the proof was - and it was delicious. 10:19 I dig jazz too now and then. I prefer bebop and New Orleans style, but about anything except fusion and smooth jazz will work. But Josh, you need to dig some Sabbath, Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Neil Young, Skynyrd, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Audioslave, and a whole raft of others who are better than Tool. 🤠 Of course musical taste varies like whiskey palates. Listen to what you like no matter what anyone else thinks - no matter what I think. 🙂
I came here for the whisky, not for the stuff. But that smile and the way Erin lit up when talking about her slippers way wonderful!!
I love Wild Turkey 101! I have not tried RareBreed yet! That’s our next bottle! ❤
Toooooool!!!!! Just caught them in concert in Spokane, WA. They were amazing!!!
And ECBP and Russels SB!!!!!
3 of my favorite things in the world!!!!

Cheers!
100% Agree with Tool! Favorite Tool song?
All of them? I can pick all of them, right? Man, that's tough. All things considered, it would be hard to beat Parabol/Parabola, Lateralus, 46&2, Pneuma, and Descending. The list of honorable mentions would be a mile long after those favorites though.
Speak Token for the win!! Thanks
Jazz vs Tool - Sounds like My Little Pony vs Voltron
I agree with Erin on the Rare Breed. I'd give it to a friend in NY because if they can find it, it's overpriced.
LOL...love the legal disclaimer poof @23:01!
@27:33 - Oooo...I was afraid you were gonna say "that schmuck Jeff that writes his comments as he watches..."
Love the channel! Keep it up!
Great comment through and through as usual! And the watch is an Explorer reference 114270 circa 2001. It’s a well loved classic!
Have you done a watch video before? I would like to see your collection
We haven’t but I do have a ton of content and thoughts relative to watches and the arc of my collection at instagram.com/stuffandwatches?igshid=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA==
Brother you REALLY NEED to listen to the group Kansas from almost 50 years ago.
Please listen to the song “Carry on my Wayward Son” best song!
Oh I know it well. It was on the record player a ton growing up. Agreed it’d one of the best songs ever.
Just found your channel. You had me at Tool. 😏
🤘🌀
Great content, it’s great to just listen to you both , your smiles and enthusiasm is infectious.
I am English living in Mexico with my lovely wife, retired and love scotch and bourbons. The choices her are so limited it’s great to hear you talk about good whisky.
Port Charlotte 10 yr is just here and is easily my new favourite, I hope you get some , smoky delicious juice.
Going back after 4 years in a few weeks , I have ordered , rare breed , eagle rare , buffalo trace , Russell’s reserve , all ar very cheap fries, ,, the rare breed was 48 gbp , the eagle rare 31 gbp, so easy to find in normal Walmart type supermarkets, will be bringing a few back for sure , yo7 are lucky to have so much choice,
Keep the content going , we love it.
One question , what is the most you have ever paid for one bottle ? And I am not trying to get you into trouble Josh ,,, enjoy

“A lot of money to spend on a whiskey that’s going to disappear…” Man, when you say it that way, we all are literally “pissing money away” on whiskey. 😂 sorry for being crude.
It's hilariously true and somewhat comical... and a whole heck of a lot of fun though!
@@stuffandwhiskey agreed.
you have to like RUSH if you like tool. Rush had a huge impact on Tool
Rush is definitely great and certainly had an impact on Tool (Danny Carey specifically).
I’ll have to check out Tool.
You definitely should
Josh is the som and Erin is the mooch.😊
Higher praise than I (Josh) deserve but we definitely have a bit of that dynamic. Cheers and thanks for watching!
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
Hey guys! Is it possible to get your picks shipped to the EU? Great video cheers!🥃
Catching up on comments and know we've already gotten with you on Discord about this, but wanted to apologize for being behind over here. The charity efforts have been taking up all our time this past week.
@@stuffandwhiskey No worries there
Wish I could find Eagle rare up here in WA state under $100. Lower Puget sound specifically!
Just started my bourbon journey about 6 mothns now and don't wanna spend that, after hearing all you YT'S say it's mainly 40 bucks where they're at.
Josh, where can I get that shirt?
kingdomandwill.com and 15% off with STUFF at checkout. They’re great quality from a great company with the great message.
We are a lot alike...EXCEPT for your love of Stagg Jr...total heartburn in a bottle.
Question for you. How many ounces do you pour in the glencairn to get a good feel for what you are sampling? I would like to get 1/2 ounce, but doesn’t seem enough. Edit…I think you answered my question with the 2oz bottles you showed….about an ounce
Yep, 1 oz is usually plenty for us but we may go 2 oz if we're casually enjoying off camera.
Your wife's picks are dead on with mine, but I never had that 3rd bottle.
Great shirt Josh. Keep these coming please.
I won the Ohio bottle lottery which means I can purchase a bottle of Rock Hill Farms on Saturday. Can I get an OH from Erin, and will you be watching the OSU/ND game Saturday night?
We'll be doing a private Patreon livestream Saturday night but may have to sneak a glance or two at the game from time to time!
Tool is ok. But Iron Maiden rules. Up the irons!
Josh here. My Tool fandom will not allow me to heart this comment, but I still appreciate you watching. Cheers!
Give the band mountain a listen, they are along there with the band!🇺🇸👍🤪🥃
Sleep Token is blowing up . Good band.
Take Five is in your Comp? Dave Brubeck is daily. ✌🏼
Stay tuned. 😉
Did i never send you sleep token? Saw them live 2 days ago and been in their top spotify fans for years
Ooooooh man, seeing them live must've been AMAZING!
Where can you find Stagg for $210 secondary? Everything I see is $300+
It's down to $200 flat locally but that can vary by market.
I think Matt meant your pick that nobody would expect or have on any list like Legent
Of course musical taste varies like whiskey palates. Listen to what you like no matter what anyone else thinks - no matter what I think. 🙂
I’d heart their comment but can’t get behind the “better than Tool” part (even if those are all excellent bands in their own right). 😂 Cheers!
