hell yeah the good ol aussie chariot! I loved my FG, though i'd give my left nut for a G6E Turbo. personally i prefer the trims of the G6, feels more premium
Why not? Flush is only required if the coolant has been left to the point where it browns off, and starts getting scale/deposits in it. The coolant in this car wasn’t dirty, it just had a low glycol reading. So a simple drain and refill with good quality coolant is all that’s required in a situation like this. IMO having residual coolant in the cooling system with a low glycol level, is better than just having residual plan water after flushing it. Again, this is a different story if the cooling system is dirty
Great video I enjoyed watching it. But I do have to correct you, the icc screen is a mk1 coloured screen. Most xr6 xr8 g6 had monochrome, the g6e and some xr had the coloured, Mk2 are a bit bigger and don't have the buttons next to the screen.
Yeah he’s going good. Unfortunately doesn’t get driven a heck of a lot these days, as I’m mainly driving the commodore wagon for work stuff. Am about to do shorter small mods to dez so there will be a video coming out on it very soon
We work on plenty of ba’s and bf’s. FG is definitely a lot more refined but still carries over much of the same issues from earlier models. Very similar suspension failure points etc. but the auto is definitely better in the FG’s
Hey! You seem to know a fair bit about falcons, thoughts on a BF XR6 with the ZF6 for about $5,000? Has 320,000KMs, apparently have service history and bushes are fine. Worthy of a new daily? Cheers mate
@benjFPS if the over all condition inside and out is pretty good, with that amount of km, and depending if it’s registered, I’d expect to pay around 3-4K. But we’re out in the country also, so cars are cheaper out here
@@cassarindustries_wheelwerkthanks for the response, found an FG XR6 for about 5k, couple issues, only real main mechanically advertised issue is the front struts are on their way out so they’re “a bit rattly”. Roof lining is pinned up too, bit of paint fade but I work at a supercheap auto so I should save a bit on parts and repairs lmao
@benjFPS sounds like a good price mate. But I’m always cautious when people say ‘doesn’t need much for rwc’, or ‘just needs this for rwc’. Maybe get it checked by a mechanic for piece if mind. We just picked up another FG XR6 sedan a couple of days ago to fix and sell. This one is white and dedicated gas. So keep an eye out for videos on that at some point in the future!
What a great video. Love the FG, I have a mk2 myself. The Barra motors are such a smooth motor.
Appreciate it matey thanks for watching

Agreed mate they are nice cars. Obviously I didn’t have a choice what spec I got. This came on for cheap so I jumped at it.
Thanks for watching bro
Great video man 🤙
Thanks bro
😊
great vid
wheres the celebratory new car skid bloke?
The tyres are asking for it
Haha they were asking for it! I can confirm it does a surprisingly decent skid, however I can’t prove it…..
No flush for the coolant? Just drain and refill. Why?

How is Des going any news there?

Love the FG series but would avoid the early ones ( 2008 -2009) as not as refined, prone to misc mechanical issues and an ordinary 5 SPD auto.
