    This could not have been produced any better than you have done. It was clear in sight and sound. There were multiple shots for clarity and interest, the pacing was spot on, and you included every step. You are a natural born director!

    Great video! Changed my oil today and had a couple of comments. (1) I partially removed both middle cowls to allow full removal of under cowl. Not too hard, didn't take much time and gave me great access to oil filter. (2) I used all dealer parts. Dealer pulled part number 15410-KYJ-902 for the oil filter number which did not match what I found online initially. I called the dealer and checked online and confirmed 15410-KYJ-902 is a direct replacement for 15410-KYJ-901. It fits just fine. (3) As recommended in video, I too recommend using a funnel to pour new oil in (after trying without and spilled some). (4) Old crush washer on my bike was wrong size and was fairly difficult to remove i.e. inner diameter too small. This is why I tend to avoid dealers for service work. Why pay $90 labor for someone to use the wrong parts for such a simple task? Not the first time I've had someone use wrong parts for an oil change. Geez. (5) Didn't find online prices much cheaper for parts so purchasing at dealer seems to be best choice for me. (6) Bike on rear stand works well for this task, allows a normal drain pan to fit beneath bike and provides a little more working room (can put kickstand in up position).

    I missed this video in August i put the bike away on Dec 27th I had the dealer do the first service (recommended by them) to to change the oil & check the valves. Excited to do this myself early & i mean early next season!

    I just finished my oil change. My only concern is: the oil in the sight glass never filled. I put in a litre of oil. I don't have a bikestand but surely it should show it was filled? I idled the bike watching the glass and no change. No level drop but it's as if there's no oil in there at all.

    I HIGHLY recommend removing the left side fairing. The lower front screw for the oil filter cover is WAY too hard to get out of there if you don't. Sorry, I don't have miniature hands, but they are not big by any means.

    • @Brownbrady

      +tomfarr56 Good recommendation. I agree, those screws on the oil filter cap are hard to get to without removing the bottom fairing.

    Hey Brown Brady, I was wondering if you know how to replace the oil filter screen, I think it's a metal screen. I'm having a hard time finding info about this, I think this might be the part: 15421-KYJ-900 SCREEN, OIL FILTER

    • @eksine
      @eksine 9 лет назад

      +Bruce Nguyen ok I found this for a cbr125 so maybe it's the same, it's hidden under the clutch cover, so that means you have to replace the gasket so maybe I should wait til I have to replace the clutch pack

    Hi brownbrady great video very easy to follow. I’m having trouble loosening the bolt to release the oil it’s locked it pretty tight. Anyone has advice on how to loosen the bolt?

    • @Brownbrady
      @Brownbrady  7 лет назад

      I'm assuming you're talking about the oil drain bolt or plug. First, make sure you're turning it counter-clockwise if you were facing the head of the bolt. Also, make sure you're using the correct socket with a long extension, and not a wrench. If you still cannot loosen it, stop before you round the bolt. You can also try an impact wrench, or try a penetrating lube spray.

    • @motoryzen
      @motoryzen 7 лет назад

      If you know that you're using the precisely correctly sized socket ( and I'm not talking about one of those sockets that aren't "squared" and have easily 16+ little teeth...use a regular squared socket with 8 sides to it), if you can find the room. use a hammer be it a rubber mallet or metal hammer to tab the end of your ratchet to gentle break loose the drain plug. I have to do that sometimes on my civic si 05's .

    • @Brownbrady
      @Brownbrady  9 лет назад

      +Laurie Bass I don't think it would since it would get soaked anyway once you put it on. The only potential advantage I think would be that the gasket would be pre-soaked and would provide a better seal? Not sure.
