I have just discovered her music its just so incredible. Considering we have so much amazing music at our finger tips for the taking from past and present all around the world I consider this the best time for music. I love how at random you can discover so many talented artists in music these days.
I've just discovered it today (at least consciously). My eye fell on your comment just as I was just thinking about the people who comment on some of the 70s songs I hear. Those people brashly decry today's music saying how much more authentic and blah, blah, blah it was then... This is something that all generations will do with the music of their time that they have formed strong emotional bonds with and it is largely that emotional intensity that informs their prejudice... but it's not true and you'd think people would grow out of such childish appraisals (though sadly it seems age sometimes brings a growing further into them often rather than the reverse since we are not educated to grow, not really, not in the meaningful senses). There are so many wonderful musicians out there today and it is - as you say - a tradition that stretches back and back. There is a lot of crap, too, but when has that not been true and of all endeavours. Hmmm... lockdown verbiage I suppose...
There lies a man of my heart A fine and complete work of art Here, I his woman, his home, and his heart And proud to be playing that part And proud to be playing that part Rest in the bed of my bones All that I have is a home And all you can do is promise me bold That you won't let me grow dark or cold As long as we both shall live The sirens come and shall feel your call As a sound as I believe in you The first bit's the hardest I'm sure Where our shadows come to the shore Know that it's you and I till the end And all I want from life is to hold your hand All that I have are these bones And all that I want is a home And all you can do is promise me bold That you won't let me grow dark or cold As long as we both shall live The sirens come, they always will But the dart between my heart and his Is as good as a diamond chain Rest in the bed of my bones All that I want is a home And all you can do is promise me bold That you won't let me grow dark or cold As long as we both shall live
she played this at conway hall in november and i have been going insane trying to find it from snatches of lyrics i heard in the front row. thank you so much, my life is complete. i pray this is on the new album. love love love. :)
There's this comment on a lyrics site that I found really amusing: "She also commented that after she wrote the song she realized it fit a very popular movie but said she was too embarrassed to say which. After she performed, a guy in the audience yelled out "Twilight!" and she started laughing and turned bright red. It was awesome." That's funny if it's true :)
@RainbowsLoveMuffins Oh you are missing an experience Love! When she plays, she has this power to just hypnotize and absorb the audience in her music. Rather extraordinary really. :)
@kmacmuzikmafia27 ahahah I don't know why but all these folk's tale make me love her more and think, oh well, she's human just like us. Moreover, if it's true,it should mean she doesn't like twilight thaaaaaat much, so thumbs up people!!!!!
@helenarabymusic if you want to just accompain the lyrics you can play C E Am, I think if you want the tabs you'll have to work on a open D tuning? I'm not sure though

There lies a man of my heart
A fine and complete work of art
Here, I his woman, his home, and his heart
And proud to be playing that part
And proud to be playing that part
Rest in the bed of my bones
All that I have is a home
And all you can do is promise me bold
That you won't let me grow dark or cold
As long as we both shall live
The sirens come and shall feel your call
As a sound as I believe in you
The first bit's the hardest I'm sure
Where our shadows come to the shore
Know that it's you and I till the end
And all I want from life is to hold your hand
All that I have are these bones
And all that I want is a home
And all you can do is promise me bold
That you won't let me grow dark or cold
As long as we both shall live
The sirens come, they always will
But the dart between my heart and his
Is as good as a diamond chain
Rest in the bed of my bones
All that I want is a home
And all you can do is promise me bold
That you won't let me grow dark or cold
As long as we both shall live
Dila Çetin thank you
Most gifted artist, both singing and writing, of our day. Wow. Laura gives me hope for modern music.
This reminds me of Outlander waaaayyyyy too much. The relationship between Claire and Jamie and the supernatural pull of the stones.
Laura is the definition of an artist.
me too, around four years now and her beautiful music never grows old!
