SCUBAPRO’s new GO Sport fin features a “boot-fit” design, enabling divers who wear boots when giant-striding into cold water or negotiating rocky shore entries to benefit from the proven kicking performance of the original Tester’s Choice-awarded “bare-fit” GO fin. Lightweight yet virtually indestructible, this fin is a fast and nimble performer in the water. The blade has been slightly revised from the original; it now provides mounting points to attach skegs that minimize sideslip and maximize stability. The self-adjusting bungee heel strap allows for a versatile fit. The strap also makes it easy to don and doff. The GO Sport is designed to fit in IATA carry-on compliant luggage, making it a great fin for both travel and local diving.
    Features:
Lightweight design increases convenience when traveling and comfort and ease of use in the water.
Open heel “boot-fit” design features a replaceable self-adjusting bungee heel strap that allows for a versatile fit and makes the fin easy to don and doff.
Revised Ergo3 foot pocket is re-profiled for maximum comfort and power transfer.
Ultra-strong 100% Monprene® construction avoids problems of delamination, broken blades and torn foot pockets, making it ideal for long-term, heavy-duty use.
25º pre-angled blade with a Central Power Panel provides longitudinal rigidity and creates a channeling effect for low-effort kicking performance.
Power Bars on the underside of the rails prevent over-flex to maintain the optimum angle of attack under high-load conditions.
In-water performance delivers speed, power, stability and maneuverability with a minimum of effort.
Fins fit easily in IATA carry-on compliant luggage for divers who like to travel the world.
Innovative Piggy Back Stack system interlocks one fin blade into the other, creating a snug pairing that makes packing and traveling that much easier.
Skegs mounted on blade ends minimize sideslip and maximize stability.

Thank you Bob an excellent presentation, I currently have 3 of the fins you showed here, the latest being the Scubapro Go Sport, they are the best part of a kilo lighter than the Apeks RK3,s and swim very similar. They are over half a kilo lighter than the Seawing Novas. I use the Novas if I think I'm gonna have strong current they are great in open sea. My point is for general diving the Go Sport fins are possibly better than the current market leader the RK3,s

Thanks for the the informative videos. I always look forward to watching them. In your video you didn’t explain how Tulsa approached the travel fin length issue. The Tulsa switch fin you had for comparison , has a feature that address this by thinking outside the box. . The fin blade easily separates from the foot pocket with two stainless screws. This makes the fin very easy to pack for travel. It makes the fin roughly half the length of the assembled fin. Thanks again for the videos.

I started using the Scubapro GO Sport fins last year and I have put all other fins I have, AL and Mares, in storage and haven't used them at all since I switched to the Scubapro's Go Sport fins. The Scubapro Go Sport fins are great for travel and for local diving in temperate waters. They are great in the tropics with very little wave or current action as well as for diving in temperate waters with wave and current action. The Mares Quattros feel like an uncomfortable stiff paddles compared with the awesome Scubapro Go Sport fins. No going back to the Mares Quattros or AL fins for me!!

Wondering how this would perform in currents. I’ve been using a 10-year old Mares Plana Avanti Quattro Abs but it’s quite bukky to travel with, so I usually leave it at home.

Just came across this, thank you for the video.
I am actually comparing a few fins, go sport, mares excite pro, diverite XT, aquatec fins(poseiden trident mould but taiwan made n neutrally bouyant)
I tried mares avanti quattros+, they are not easy to pack and my calves tends to cramp when I am using long fins.
Any feedback about these fins going against the current, reverse kick?

    • @DiversSupplyYT
      @DiversSupplyYT  2 года назад +1

Thanks BT for your thoughts and question. I've used the Quattros extensively and tend to agree they don't pack easy (BIG), the XT are smaller but to me, much stiffer, the Excite and Aquatec I don't have experience with so it would be wrong of me to comment on those.
I've become a fan of the Go Sports and I enjoy my Rk-3's both easy to pack. Regards Bob C

@@DiversSupplyYT Thanks Bob C for the reply.
I tried the RK-3 once, I find them quite similar power when doing flutter kicks as the Oceanic Accel Fins which I am using now. But to be fair, 1 dive is not enough to judge.
My concern is power, kick style, weight and packing. I guess the Go Sports is a good bet.

Hi Bob, I’m from Asia, I loved ur videos, it’s very clear and useful, thanks a lot!
I’m currently struggle to choose fins between Apeks Rk3 and scubapro go sports, it’s about same size, I’m doing mostly recreational dives few times a year, I’ve checked out nearly all videos about these two fins…in the other video u put RK3 at last one reason is u need more power legs(compare to M.Quattro and scubapro seawings cus they’re bigger and more stiffer)
how about only these two comparison? Which is more suitable in warm water/wet suit around Asia? Which one is more anti current or maybe a bit more powerful(just in case meet current, but usually will dive in safe zone with instructors)
Would be nice to receive ur reply! Thank you Bob!

    • @DiversSupplyYT
      @DiversSupplyYT  2 года назад +1

Thanks for your note Gary, the RK3's would be better IMHO in a current, where the the Quattros are bigger and great in almost all conditions. The SeaWings are stranger in look at but are really excellent fins. Novas are one of my open ocean picks.

    • @DiversSupplyYT

Anthony, I'd go with the ScubaPro Go Sport. The Go is a barefoot fin and Go Sport worn with booties. Would not wear those boots with the Tennis-Shoe style sole.
I bought a pair because they are light, short/easy to pack and are middle of the road on stiffness.
Couple of the other companies are "sporting", that's a joke by the way, are introducing fins similar to the Go Sport.

Thank you Bob! I just discovered your channel... thank you! This was a very timely video. We are preparing to travel a lot to dive. I love the idea of the Aqua Lung Explorer bag. Thank you. As for fins. I've been diving with Mares fins that are much longer than the ones you highlighted. My question: Is there a noticeable trade off of kick power between a longer fin and the shorter ones you highlighted. Again, thank you. I'm a new fan and subscribed to help get to 5000!

    • @DiversSupplyYT

Number One, thanks for subscribing ! My analytics say, only about 11% of my folks that view various vids end up subscribing. Just passed 6k and hope to hit 10k in the future.
OK to your question, the force that moves us forward underwater from our fins is torque. When you see military or tech fins they "tend" to be shorter, somewhat wide and reasonably stiff blades. Like my RK3's. Short kick movement gives good torque, but they can be hard on the leg muscles.
      - My Mares X-tremes have medium length blade, the blade is multi materials and re-active. They look like a fish's fin. Really good for the average diver.
      - My Scuba Pro Sea Wing Novas are strange looking BUT are really good for the average diver too. I love their bungee straps.
      - Last but not least are my new Scuba Pro GO Sport. My new bestest, right not a real word, but they have good kich response, fairly short for packing and have those great bungee straps.
Hope this helps ! Regards Bob C
