Had exactly the opposite reaction to the look of the front end - I love it.
I didnt like it at first. Seeing it in the flesh helped and I like it now. Very bold, different and stands out over other super nakeds. Dont think ill ever love it tho. Too many angles it doesn't look great. Didnt stop me buying one yesterday tho !
It's kind of a subtle, understated sophistication look to it. It's not raucous and brash and ostentatious like a Super Duke or Streetfighter or MT-10.
We don't care if John doesn't like the looks of the bike . We love it .

proper shite yea, fucking ugliest naked bike ever produced. And around 40kg´s heavier than the competition!
I seriously like how it looks. It looks so thick in the front, somewhat like a Ducati Diavel, doesn't look fucked up like the Wuperduke or an MT-10
@@Hampus3313 Sat on one at the cycle show and fit me perfect. Looks much better in person than in pics or videos. Much lighter than my 1250 Bandit S or my Ninja ZX 12R. TONS of rear wheel potential! Drag strip here I come!

H2SX makes 240 whp with a slip-on and ECU flash, per Brock's Performance dyno.

As do most 3 cylinders. As a fan of 3 cylinders, I like it. Granted here it's coming from the supercharger and not a 3 pot intake note.

Agree that they absolutely rooted the front end styling on this. Doesn't sit in with the other H2 models, yet they still could have come up with something better for its own Z identity

As usual for your ride reviews John a great introduction to this bike. I like your advice about rider aids, use them to get the best out of any bike. Infinite variables now to enhance your experience.
I have to say that as an older rider (65 uggg!) and been riding since 1976, I have learned to control a motorcycle properly without the need for all the current electronic "helpers" modern bikes have. Honestly, all I really appreciate (safety wise) is ABS. Don't need anti-wheelie, power modes, cornering lights,lean angle sensors, etc. One of the reasons I LOVE my 2016 Suzuki Bandit 1250S. Just ABS.

The design is perfect, don't know why you don't see the perfect look of excellent wind reflection and keeping a balance that I like a lot. My next purchase is the H2

Hey John. Would love to see you do a review or compare a stock one with one that is done up with some Brocks Performance products. ( Once they get products ready to ship ). This bike can easily get 250hp at the wheel for not a bunch of money

MT 10 is even uglier in my opinion dude. Could not own one of those. This I could own [even though it's not pretty]. Most KTM's are fugly as hell but people still buy them. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I hated this new Z , but with that gorgeous soundtrack you made me love it !!
The pices of theme music laced throughout the video, remind me very much of Zane/Fuel, akin to memeoies of tunes & a 'the vibe' used in Initial-D The Movie.
I had to ask; surely that is via luck, or a subtley 'correct' choosing of feel to the sound?
Egg back home on Christmas day 2017 I was doing 165+ across the Forest Hill bridge, 175 down HWY 80 just before Sierra College BLVD and had just done 140 on HWY 50 coming from the mercedes benz dealer heading into Sacramento following a car at 90mph the highway patrol came up my left side and ask me to keep it down a little. With his hand.

Awesome that a B1 Lancer bomber flew over the testing grounds. You must have been near Edwards AFB. I turned 41 on the 10th. There’s no way I can afford any model of supercharged H2.

Looks a bit better than the full fairing and I usually think the opposite.
The best looking naked bike till today is the Z1000, only if Kawasaki would have updated that bike, it would have been a gem.

Had 2 superdukes went to a dealer to service it and saw this on the floor. Sat in it and rode away with it.
I'm 100% with you John, if they would have just put the current Z1000 headlight on it, and attached it to the forks instead of the frame so that it swivels with the handlebar (as a true streetfighter should), this bike would have not just performed but also looked killer!! With this Tuono style permanently fixed headlight cowl design it just looks proportionally challenged. Ironically the new StreetFighter copied the Z1000 headlight and it look epic because of it! I guess I'll wait for the facelift model because that front end is just NOT growing on me. Maybe a test-ride will change that.
It would be cool to listen to the supercharger flutter all day.

Personally i believe Kawasaki nailed the look. I wanted a Japanese bike. Make no mistake the ZH2se looks the part...exceptionally!
I wanted a perfectly balanced squid missile and the ZH2se fits the bill perfectly. I'm waiting for delivery of my ZH2se. Cheers!

Yeah, actually I think that Suzuki does this with their GSX-R bikes.
Nissin master cylinder and Brembo callipers combination you may find on S1000RR up to 2019. Good review, I am going to trade my S1000RR for this one soon.
Lets just talk about aesthetics. I'm an XSR900 rather than an MT09 type of guy. I like 7" round front headlights. Yes i'm a Luddite. Regardless of tech and performance, this thing is the King of Fugly Transformers.

I just discovered that the H2 engine is DUAL-COUNTERBALANCED. The ZX-14/R and Concours14 are also dual-counterbalanced. I bet the 998cc H2 is very smooth.
This bike is the only time since the first introduction of the H2-series bikes that I've actually considered an H2 bike. It's right mid-pack in price which is amazing.
I really like the new Z- styling headlights. They are clean, sharp, and finally symmetrical with the LED backlighting.
I knew they were counter balanced, didn't know they were DUAL counter balanced ( like my CBR 1100XX). Good to know! HATE a buzzy/vibey bike!

Yes I don't like that front that much either but it's livable, I can just tint out that headlight so it's not that noticeable, but other than that it's a pretty nice Bike. I also think they should have mimic the air vent on the left and also put it on the right, so the design doesn't look weird the right side could be redirected to the engine for more cooling thus more power or it will maintain it's power, we all know engine gets hot doesn't produce that power anymore, that exhaust just get an aftermarket one.
Would be interested to know how you were able to hang on at 160mph without getting blown off the back of the bike.

Honda is a respectable motorcycle brand and the new cbr rr r is ducati level performance with reliability thrown in. Price is on point for what you get.
@@carlosandleon Everyone thinks reliability is free. Also a lot of delusional folks think Ducati's reliability has apparently become the same as Honda's. So yeah everyone talks a big game about that sadly. The RR is literally for racers. The base bike is what most folks should be buying. Anything beyond that is a halo machine for folks to gain the edge while racing competitively which is also why its bloody uncomfortable. Irony is no one complained about that cause most of these folks complaining haven't ridden a proper track machine.

@@d1sturb3d119 yeah but at that level, a Honda Halo bike is worth as much as a Ducati halo bike if the materials and performance are comaparable

I really like the look of it, then again I think the MT10 is good looking.
I'm still one of those people who owns and rides superbikes pre abs and TC etc etc so when I ride the new stuff I switch it all off as I've never relied on it in the first place and become complacent.

Ridden both 1290 sdr and 1100 v4 tuono with it all aids turned off and zero issues. I don't get why some ppl struggle with it.
