Hello, everybody! Well here we are. Steven Universe comes to an end.
This series has been such a big part of my life, it's really sad to see it go. But I'm glad it ended off on a good note. Steven Universe Future for the most part did a 180 on the issues that the original series had (pacing, art inconsistencies, etc.)
While the finale may not be perfect, I enjoyed it and I think this epilogue was a good and impactful way to close out the series.

I think Steven universe is what a like to call a "flawed masterpiece". What I mean is it's obvious the show has flaws but as a whole its still an enjoyable story as a whole.
In fairness, even shows like ATLA have flaws- nothing is perfect, and some bits of storytelling don't resonate the same way with everyone. It more just comes down to how willing one is to look past the flaws and enjoy the content regardless. SU as a franchise is one I'm very willing to do it for since the pros far outweigh the cons imo.

Connie's surname literally translates to "Lord of the Universe". They were the OTP from the very beginning and it shows in how well their relationship was developed.

There's a theory that the chest was a metaphor for Rose's secret, like it only opened after we learned Rose was Pink. Kind of a disappointing theory but it's better than learning it was more of Greg's junk.

The second last episode is my favorite episode of anything ever
Rebecca state’s in an interview that she was assaulted in her early 20 but got away. She wasn’t sure if she should tell anyone. When she started working at Cartoon Network, she pushed it aside to work. Which ended up making her mental state worse.
She got better. And she said that how she got the inspiration for the story of Future.

I like how there are less states, it makes sense. Beach city is in Delmarva, which is a state that occupy 3 of are states, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Pensylvania is called keystone, and New york is called Empire. Florida is a freaking ISLAND

Hey I know I'm a bit late but I think the point of her power is to give voice to gems like peels or just not one that are big and athuretarian by giving them the form of a dimon for a bit
Garnet is a COUPLES THERAPIST. She helps struggling relationships.
I think part of white's new power is so she can also see or feel what the others are feeling/seeing. It's also helpful to kinda see your own reflection i think

Garnet is a couples' therapist, so she focuses more on relationships than single things. White diamond's power quite literally allows you to talk to yourself.
Love how the entire ending is so emotional and you get choked up on all of the good times, when suddenly "Wait, what was in the chest?"
Made my grin of empathy towards my fellow man and his nostalgia turn into a grin of satisfaction at watching my fellow man torture himself over aspects of life I don't care for.
I mean, it's a mystery what's in the chest, but to me it isn't a "Rey, there's something I've always been meaning to tell you." It's more of a "Wonder what R2-D2 actually said." I can no, I can not know, I can guess, but I can't get hung up over it.

There's something so heartbreaking about seeing Alexandrite having to fight Steven.
And regarding Lapis: yes, she can control the entire ocean but that took time and effort, Steven was not only fighting back but has the power of a Diamond. Remember back when Yellow and Blue attacked, she could barely hang onto Blue's arms and corrupted Steven isn't holding back.
I am curious about the Diamonds, Pink was the youngest but seemed to be the one with the most potential strength.
@@unknowndane4754 I wouldn't say that. Pink just had more reasons to actually explore what she's capable of while the other three are only just starting to explore what they can do.
@@timemonkey also, Steven's Gem can clearly release way much more power than the Diamond's Gems, and any other Gem really, as we saw in this episode and in Change Your Mind. I think it's because since it doesn't have to sustain a light projection all the time, it has way more energy to spare and can release it in much bigger quantities, with the consequence of Steven's human body obviously holding it back.
@@infamousplayer8772 Steven's not stronger than the other diamonds. In Change Your Mind he doesn't actually hurt the diamonds he just knocks them other and here he's out of control while they're tryi8ng not to hurt him.
@@timemonkey pretty sure the Pink Steven form overpowered White while she was doing everything she could to stop him, while controlling several other Gems (including Blue and Yellow) to do the same, and she still wasn't able to even make him flinch. The only reason he didn't murder them was because Steven was yelling at him to stop. Pretty sure that counts as being WAY stronger. And his monster form was strong enough to overpower the Cluster, and send everyone back with one blow, including the Diamonds, and hurt them enough for them to struggle to even get up. And considering none of their powers worked on him, they also couldn't do shit. Also sure that counts as being stronger, at least in his monster form.
The Steven universe finale hurt like a hickie, it still hurt but was filled with love. The star forces finale stabbed you in the stomach and pulled out your entrails. Excruciatingly painful and it left you’re body empty on the floor of an alleyway. Also you’d be dead.
That ending was atrocious, and only tried pandering to the Starco fanbase, and they even got that wrong.
Dr. Scarlet honestly the shit I heard about the ending is why I haven’t gotten into SVTFOE. I don’t want to fall in love with something only for it to dissolve into shit at the end.
At least GF and AT had good endings.

If you want the good SVTFOE stuff, stick with seasons 1 and 2 and maybe the movie. Luckily I was able to tell something was wrong the second time I saw an episode preview on tv. And I was right.

The movie, while not tying everything, could be seen like the other tv shows and cartoons, leaving what happens after to the imagination of the fans. In this case, yes. After the movie, they basically go back to having random adventures, so basically, just imagine season 3 and the rest to be straight fanfiction.
Like with the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. A majority of the SW fandom has labelled it as bad fanfiction. We refuse their so called 'EU is no longer canon' bullshit, and still consider it to be canon.
Its why I refer the the new movies as fanfiction. Of course, I heard the new trilogy after it will take place in the Old Republic, and if they get it right, it essentially brings the EU back into canon legally.
I missed the chance of watching steven universe when it was on air so I literally just watched it all within the past few weeks and I am so happy I did. This show made me feel things I didn't even know I could. Jesus
The magical thing about SU to me is how it looks like a completely average kid's show and just whacks you in the head for thinking that while also being super nice about it. Like you don't realize how in-depth and dark it is until you actually give it a chance, and there's so much to pick apart and discuss for fricking 11 minute long episodes.

really love how in the end it showed how Steven was just as mentally messed up as everyone and that he isn't this "Mr. Funny guy". Steven had to go through a whole lot in this series and never really had anyone to lean on. Really adds to this show as a whole and left me crying for 10 minutes.

(Also as for the Chest. Rebecca confirmed that 'not everything will be answered' when asked about the chest in a QnA.
That sounds disappointing, i was surely disappointed, but on the other hand, almost everything in Lions mane was just background art. Bismuth in the bubble was just meant to be a decoration until they decided to make her a character. It's likely the chest was just a treasure chest of riches Rose found on her time on earth and kept it there.)
Yeah, and you know, this is just speculation on my part obviously, but I think that maybe Lion wasn’t meant to store things in his mane at all. You remember the broken ruins in the desert, where Steven discovered that other tape addressed to Nora? Well, I feel like that place was originally where Rose kept all her stuff, since it was filled with so many objects. Then it was destroyed (probably deteriorated due to the elements) and after Rose brought Lion back to life, she decided to store just a few important things in his mane. Probably whatever was in the chest was one of those things. That’s probably also why Lion even knew that place existed in the first place, Rose had brought him there before to then take what she thought was valuable and put it in his mane.

As someone who has experienced prolonged periods of either anger or straight up emotionlessness due to past trauma and depression, sometimes being sad is the best thing that can happen to you, because if you can feel sad and breakdown and cry, you know you can start picking up pieces and you can start to feel happy again, too.

I'm pretty sure everyone can say that Steven Universe helped them get through tough times in their lives. Myself included. Seeing it end, it just doesn't feel real. I'm glad the series ended like this. It shows what the franchise is all about. Steven Universe and Future kind of saved me. Steven Universe made me very happy when I was down, and I watched Volleyball and saw how Steven just wanted to fix his past and how he sort of exploded when he had had too much, and that made me look inside myself and made me see I was actually harboring my own anger and trauma and how I just wanted to fix everything. It caused me to have kind of a panic attack, but I later found out I had depression and anxiety and now I’m getting help. THANK YOU REBECCA SUGAR FOR OPENING UP THAT VERY IMPORTANT TOPIC!

I think when blue was singing “loving you” Steven remembered the tape rose left for him. The tape said, “Everytime you’re loving yourself, that’s me, *loving you* and loving being you.” So maybe that’s why he turned pink
