- Martin Baker, a devoted fan of England, has expressed his disappointment towards trolls who have labelled him as "racist" due to his patriotic display.
The 50-year-old has decorated his residence in Thanington, Canterbury with numerous St George flags to show his support during the Euro 2024 tournament.

i'm Scottish living in England and if you have a problem with English people flying the English flag in England then you should go home.
There's a video of Merkel during an election in Germany. She walks up to one of her own party candidates nd takes the flag he's waving out off his hands. Walking to dispose of it shaking her head with a disgusted prunish look on her. It's not only the English that abhor any patriotism.

The UK, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, England, do have a long and shared history.
That history can get pretty spicy if you read into it..extremely so.
As a Scotsman, I’m extremely proud of our history. The good that we accomplished in so man endeavours.
But I have to recognise the bad. Not for itself, but to learn the why.
The why a thing happened, what caused it, and who were the people involved at that particular time in history.
Learn about history and grow as a human so you can understand how silly we all are, or covetous, or fractured..or so many things.
England can fly its own ‘bloody’ flag if it likes, as they are English and that flag represents that country.
If you want to have debates or talks about the history of it, great.

But the English DO, have a flag, do exist in a place and time, and do have the same rights everyone else espouses to hold.

In Clitheroe, Lancashire they are proudly flying the Union Jack, the England flag and the red rose of Lancashire outside all the shops. I was so very uplifted seeing this. Absolutely brilliant.

Even 15 to 20 years ago, hundreds of cars, houses and pubs would be decked out with the St. George cross , during every football tournament, now I've seen 2 cars in London and Essex, and I find it really sad. I lived in tooting London 20 years ago. when the euros or world cups were on cars would come past. England flags flying from them. their occupants with England shirts and the strange thing was that some of them even had the English flag on their turbans. are they racist?
I'm currently touring South East Asia. So far I've been to Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea and I'm now in Vietnam. Each of those countries display their flag everywhere and with huge pride, and rightly so.

The English Flag is a Christian Flag of the Italian Church.
Many Churches used this flag in Italy and Spain
You see this connection to Barcelona, Seville Genoa, Parma, it was a sign of strength and Christian believe in this region from locals and foreigners mostly english fishermen or workers. This tradition was then adopted by the British Church of England and The British Government.
That is because it is St George's Cross, so really is an international symbol.
Also the Red Cross adopted it. Perhaps they want the Red Cross called racist as well!

We often hear the Brits being so puzzled/upset about us Americans always flying the Stars and Stripes. They seem to laugh at the practice. I guess, as we see borne out now in Britain, they're unable to understand the concept of being proud of one's own country. When they are criticized for feeling that way, they are ridiculed and generally give in without a fight.
Nothing racist about the English flag. It was originally Genoan and its patron saint was from West Asia who was canonised by Italian Catholics. Its a very multi cultural flag. With a deep multi cultural history.

Because the English flag represents English people, Welsh for Welsh etc whereas the British flag is a civic flag. Anyone can be British with our magic soil and free passports but only English natives with a tied history and culture can be English and that needs to be crushed apparently. So, British flags and EU flags are good, they represent natives of nowhere. Fly your flags.

In my country there is one national flag. But I always had difficulty finding out what the British, English, UK national flag really is. 🤔

I was born in UK with Cypriot background. At home I have a George flag a Union Jack Greece and Cyprus flag. I am proud of all of them. I often wondered why in UK we don't fly the flag more often except at sporting events. The only reasoning I could come up with was maybe from old colonial days or maybe the crusades ? I must admit it angered me one year when my local authority did not flag the flag on st Georges day flew every one else's.
