This video is for those of you that are aware of what lightmaps are, conceptually, but not so confident about using them in practice. I go over the settings you need, include some workflow tips to get you started, and go on to look at the essentials that you need when working with baked lights, such as how to create the effect of lights being turned off and on in different rooms, and adding post processing effects.

Thanks man- great tutorial
I was having issues with janky shadows, I followed this and found that changing from "progressive" to "enlighten" solved it. Thanks so much.
Actually great info, I've never seen anyone talk about how to overwrite baked lightmap to remove light. I always felt this was a great disadvantage of baked lighting. Probably the main reason why you can't shoot out lights in many games, because the indirect light would still be visible around the lamp. The projector hack is nice, maybe I get to use that here and there. Thanks!
Thank you! This channel deserves millions of subscribers!
Great tutorial didn't know about generating light uv mappings and scaling them, using it on my project right now thanks!
one of teh best tutorial on lighting in unity! thanks
Nice. waiting for the swapping Lightmaps video.
Really fantastic tutorial.
Exactly what I am looking for.
I couldn't find anything as close to this anywhere else. Well done
Duuude... That was awesome...!
Amazing
Bravo great tutorial
Thx for tutorial Master!
Wow, that was very nice. Can you pls provide the "Swapping Lightmap Video"? That is very much needed for me.
sweet video!
me: hey it is lightmapping is cool
Dani: Oh boi it's time to bake some lights ahhhh!!!
lol.... it is kinda boring and takes a lott of time.. so.
4 years later and this is the first video that made me realize u can just delete the directional light and build with planes then fake the lighting
Hello, I have quite a large amount of lights in a scene and a substantial number of objects in the level. However it seems that my lightmapping will take over five days, and that time continues to increase as the light baking runs throughout the day. Is there a way to optimize this process?
Hi, Great video, Great game. How did you achieve the green siren-esque light mate? I want the same sort of effect. Could you point me in the right direction. I am new to unity 3D.
It seems I can't use projectors like @ 3:40 in your video because I'm using URP. Is there an alternative way to using projectors in URP like you did in this video? I really like your dark rooms technique
Heya, any tips on how you did the hidding in shadow thing, when you turned off the lights?
What should I do if assets I bought from the asset store don't have the option to 'Generate Lightmap UVs'?
most of the objects in my project dont have this option and as a result they look very washed out, like a white/grey color has been applied to them.
I've had difficulties with both light and reflection probes, and normal maps. I found out baked lighting doesnt interact with specular maps and normal maps go flat. Why isn't this built into unity? I am forced to use mixed lighting cause of it, wich kinda defeats the point imo
How would this work with moving objects? Like players and enemies
2:04, what if I created the object in Unity itself, idk how to generate lightmap uvs for them???
sir pls tell me how and where to use light probs
It took a bit but the 'Swapping Lightmaps At Runtime' video is final out, see it here; ruclips.net/video/BRapbR6vPII/видео.html
Should this be done at the end
Older version of unity used ti be easy to use
Some good information, sadly harder to work with due to how dated this video is, unity has changed a fair bit, even that asset pack isn't available anymore..
Nice tricks. But not so good on lightweight RP in VR
why not so good on URP ?
looks like enlighten was removed by unity right now
Me watching this because I'm too impatient
It is too quick, I can't follow your steps even by slowing down the speed to 0,5.
