    • @EvIsAlive
      @EvIsAlive 2 месяца назад +2

Y'all it's not that the story is just 'to simple' or 'to straight forward' it's because that most characters that have more then three episodes of screen time is that they have one personality trait and that's all they have throughout the story with little no development. Like Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Rengoku, Nezuko, etc. Except Shinobu and a few other exceptions. But that's all Demon Slayer is, few and far in-between moments of glory that I don't think make up for the incredibly incompetent writing for Demon Slayer. Like Genya, there's no development for him being an asshole to a nice guy, he just starts acting like a nice guy. And you could say 'its because of Tanjiro' but because he's already done that with 5 other characters like Kanao, Aoi, Muichiro, en it's predictable and repetitive at that point.
Demon Slayer isn't terrible, but it's incredibly incompetent.
      Edit:
There are a lot of other points I can bring up as well. Like how Genya is literally the only character who can temporarily transform into a demon, and the only explanation we got is just 'he has special digestive organs!!' Or how Nezuko never needed a SINGLE drop of blood throughout the entire series. Even Tamayo and Yushiro needed small amounts of human blood to live. And it's never explained how Nezuko sleeping gives her upper moon five power. Or stronger than Daki. And it's just never explained. Most explanations for things is 'they do it just because they can'. And that's just disappointing and lazy writing, especially if it's seen so many times throughout the series.

@@EvIsAlive yes and i feel that way at times to but as i Said ”for what it is its enjoyable and good” especially for someone who is new to anime. Everything don’t have to have the most in depth writing to do well or be enjoyable. @M_E_L_O_N26 2 месяца назад

@GeorgeLeKing Wdym. Most of the points seem valid regarding the plot and characters. Tanjiro is a generic goody two shoes. Insokue is just a crackhead basically regarding his actions (prob the only character I like in terms of writing) and Zenitsu is horny. The main cast usually follows whatever personality the writer assigned to them with some development thrown in. The plot is basically just a Skyrim fetch quest made into a anime. Regarding collecting demon blood. Average Shonen backstories for majority of the characters. It gets annoying when litterly almost all demons have the generic backstory to explain who they where. Of how they lost someone or had to do it for love. Hashira aren't safe either. They have interesting backstories in a sense should we consider it. The only major complaint I have with Kny/Ds is that the fanbase makes it out to be something it isn't. My only favorite character in this would have to kokushibo since he is decently well written. While what i am saying is a disorganized rant. Some of my points still stand regarding plot and characters.
The community seems to disregard the fact that characters like Nezuko is very shallow or just there for fights or cute moments. While I don't hate that. I am just saying the characters bring the story down. A basic story ain't bad however average to mid characters can bring any story down.
The community seems to dot over Zenitsu. Which I find creepy. Many of the videos against Demon Slayer bring up the fact that the community seems to love zenitsu. While this is outside of the manga and anime. Zenitsu isn't somebody most people would want to be friends with. People find him cute disregarding the fact he is plain horny. If i where to act like zenitsu in real life people would find me as a pervert, clingy, ot just straight up weird.
Tanjiro aint better. He simply acts as the typical Shonen MC does. He believes the best in most people and should somebody have his backstory irl they wouldn't be a good person to be friends with let's say. Tanjiro is too friendly and kind which makes him your generic hero type character. While I don't hate it I dislike it, Characters should act as there backstory brings them to.
The Canon ships within the manga following the actual fight feel more rushed and very unrealistic. While female characters ain't that bad and they are written decently they seem to marry people who they at best have known for a short time, or a person who is a known womanizer ( Zenitsu ).
If I had to rate demon slayer I'd give it
8/10 for plot (Basic doesn't mean bad)
6/10 for characters ( Overal Generic and follow basic traits the writers gave them with some development )
5/10 for community ( Dotting on characters they would despise in real life, Claiming people hate on anything popular, Disregarding actual criticism regarding plot or anything like that as just haters)
10/10 for animation ( God tier animation plus va's somewhat carrying however it does redeem alot of pervious issues )
Overall demon slayer has alot of issues however it still is good I don't hate it and I'll probably rewatch it this week when I am stuck at home. Not saying it's mid. I have seen far worse, just it has major issues. Disregarding that proves ny community point.
And yes community does matter. People don't like DBS cause of the whole Can he beat goku. Issue and power scaling. Now Db isn't bad it's good, just community should count when rating anything.
And yeah that's my rant. Thanks for reading it.

    • @GeorgeLeKing
      @GeorgeLeKing 2 месяца назад +2

@@M_E_L_O_N26 The community doesn't and shouldn't make the anime/manga bad. My Hero Academia is known for having a terrible community, but the anime/manga is really good. Berserk community is also bad, so why is Berserk consider among the best manga in the entire world?
If you didn't read the manga, I'll understand why you're saying that. You don't need too much development to be consider a good character. Makima from Chainsaw Man hasn't any development in the entire serie, so why is she consider to be one of the best character in the entire serie and in the entire new gen of manga/anime?
I won't try to defend Nezuko. I do find her to be a pretty bad character.
For Zenitsu, he has huge development in the Infinite Castle Arc and he become way more serious. If you find Zenitsu's fan weird and creepy, you must also find Denji's fans weird too. Zenitsu is 16 years old, so he's a teenager, and at that age, let's just say it's normal that he's horny (can't really control your hormones at that age), and considering he could die any day, it's also normal for him to be scare.
For Tanjiro, he shows us to feel empathy even to your enemies and that we should not be consume of hatred and pursuit in revenge like Sasuke Uchiha from naruto and always shown forgiveness and sympathy to one another, and in a story where empathy is such a huge theme, I think Tanjiro embodies it perfectly imo. Tanjiro looks at all the flaws of the demons, at all the bad things they did, and he still choose to love over hate. That's some mature shits ngl. It takes a lot of mental strength and people who are being toxic and not respecting others are immature. Tanjiro is basically like Superman except without all the super powers and stuff like that, so why people hate on Tanjiro, but not Superman. Yes, he's crying a lot, but Tanjiro is seeing some of the people he care about died and it's normal. Tanjiro could have gone on just a revenge path without any sympathy for any demons. He was supposed to be like that btw, but the mangaka changed Tanjiro to a more kind-hearted person which is better honestly. I don't want another character who's just seeking revenge again and again and again like Sasuke Uchiha.
For the canon ships, I think they are fine. Shinobu is showing genuine interest in Giyu, and even if she's cold with demons, she can be very kind toward people she likes. Yeah, she's teasing Giyu but in a way that really gets to him. Obanai and Mitsuri are the same. Obanai gives Mitsuri some socks and accepts her for who she is and just not being scare of her. His feeling are genuine for Mitsuri and doesn't really feel force. For Kanao and Tanjiro, Tanjiro helps Kanao to express what's in her mind, so I think it's fine for Kanao to love Tanjiro after someone is being this kind to her.
Maybe Demon Slayer isn't for you. After all, not every manga/anime is for everyone, so maybe Demon Slayer isn't for you. I'm not asking you to like Demon Slayer, but at least respect all the effort that went into this serie. This manga was written by a women and she also has troubles in her family when she makes this manga. Koyoharu Gotōge (the creator of Demon Slayer) still makes that serie despite everything that happened to her during the creation of Demon Slayer and the manga industry is mainly man. She was able to sale 150 million mangas across the world (the 9th most sale manga across the world), and to have your manga animated by Ufotable who's a pretty big animation studio, it's really impressive honestly. So, at least has some respect for Koyoharu Gotōge.

so like i started watching anime like 6 months ago..And my first anime is like demon slayer..So basically what happened was like i started watching animated videos[which was anime's]And i stumbled across demon slayer, So i found a video about demon slayer being trash and mid, In that video in the comment section, like i saw people saying demon slayer is mid, I saw some people defending it and saying its actually really good so i had to tried it, So i kept watching, Ngl i found zenitsu annoying..And i finished watching all episodes after 11th episode of swordsmith village arc, So ngl tho, i became a big fan of demon slayer, Started watching videos of it, And i kinda get confused people saying its mid, From what i have seen while watching demon slayer, Its like the opposite of mid, Its peak, Like the first thing i know about demon slayer is that demon slayer is a story of suffering, Adventure, relationships, good and evil, and a show of emotional scenes and continuation...I dont really have any effect on people saying demon slayer is trash..Like always different people have different tastes, but like if they take it too far, i got to explain why i like demon slayer, Demon slayer might be my first anime but it surely isnt my top 1 fav, there's like other animes that's better i give demon slayer like 9.2/10, its simple, Pretty good for a beginner, the show isnt confusing, It might be confusing for dumb watchers but ur like smart, u will get it what it means, Also an extra detail, I cant believe the mangaka was a women, And she was working on the manga while in a difficult situation, by i mean she was having family issues

Yeah, I agree with you. I mean, wherever you go, you'll find people being toxic for any kind of anime/manga, but I think these people shouldn't compare Demon Slayer to any other anime/manga.
If you want to read something that talks about the goods and the bads of creating arts in general (manga, books, all kind of art) you should read "Look Back" from Tatsuki Fujimoto, the mangaka of Chainsaw Man. It's like an autobiography of Fujimoto, but it aplies to a lot of mangaka and a lot of them call it a masterpiece. So, it's definitely interesting to read if you want to learn about all the background of creating mangas and it's as emotional as Demon Slayer.

Same with the breathing styles, not of them are ACTUALLY different from each other. And if there is a difference mentioned, its just "ohhh that technique doesnt hurt demons because it doesn't hurt demons😉‼️"

  • @GeorgeLeKing
    @GeorgeLeKing 2 месяца назад +5

My man, you need to learn that literally nothing in fiction is perfect. Every single story and character has flaws in them.
Your first point doesn't makes senses. It doesn't mean that it's bad to have a simple story (like you say). Not everyone wants a super complex story like Attack on Titan.
Your second point is so dumb though. First of all, just imagine yourself in this world where you need to fight demons with magical powers and I can bet you that you'll be scare. Zenitsu is just a realistic character who's affraid for his life and it's completely understandable (you should never watch Chainsaw Man if you hate this type of character). Second of all, a lot of characters has a sad backstory, I agree, but they are so different from one to another. The characters' theme are all mostly differents. Their backstory are sad, but that's the entire point of the serie, to feel empathy for the other despite their past, to love over hating someone. The backstory of the demons are always at their conclusion because, otherwise, we'll forget about their backstory. But if you want the theme of some characters to try understanding them better,
    Gyomei: Selfishness
    Obanai: Greed
    Giyu: Guilt
    Sanemi: Grief
    Muichiro: Sacrifice
    Shinobu: Revenge
    Tengen: Redemption
    Mitsuri: Self-acceptance
    Rengoku: Duty
As for the Upper Moons, it's more simple, it's the seven sins.
    Hantengu: Sloth
    Gyokko: Pride
    Daki: Lust
    Gyutaro: Greed
    Akaza: Wrath
    Kokushibo: Envy
    Douma: Gluttony
If you truly know what the character's theme are, you can understand them. Otherwise, it means almost nothing. Third of all, you went to hard on Mitsuri. She literally has one of the best backstory in the entire serie and definitely the most realistic one too. You get one body in your life, so might as well make the most of it, and that's the entire point of her character. In this world where beauty has a lot of impact on our choices, it would be so easy to just hate on ourself or on our body. Also, women are often shown as weak, so seeing a strong woman like Mitsuri, it's refreshing.
For your third point, I won't say anything and I agree with what you've said.

    • @ultraaran15
      @ultraaran15 2 месяца назад

youre so right nothing in fiction is perfect and thats why theres ratings. One Piece has a more compelling story and better developed character in the same amount of chapters demon slayer ran. Demon Slayer in 205 chapters has alright characters, a weak story and a none compelling world because sword techniques are literally fake and dont actually exist so none of the light from the fire is real even though its shown on their faces, water, lightning, snake manipulation its all fake according to the mangaka its just visual for the reader so yeah logistically within the confine of their own world the demon slayers dont even make sense.
To hammer away the One Piece point by chapter 205 you reach Alabasta and have already had compelling story building moments for Nami, Zoro and Usopp to the point that you understand their character motivations IMMENSELY and they spend the rest of the 800+ chapters still developing its not like they ever stopped. In the same 205 chapters alot of the characters if not all of them stay the same. Hell even Tanjirou despite everything he goes through by the end DOES NOT CHANGE doesnt even mature nothing happens. Theres no growth and that makes for a lacking story.
So yes not everything needs to be perfect but if something is mid tier because its literally mid compared to better bodies of work people can call it mid or even bad. Objectively speaking compared to other bodies of work it is like a 5/10 at best. It doesnt need to be perfect but it could be better

    • @GeorgeLeKing

@@ultraaran15 First of all, Tanjiro doesn't need development and it's not because you don't have development that you're a bad character. Makima from Chainsaw Man has no development, but she's consider to be a very good character (I won't spoil anything for Chainsaw Man if you haven't read it). As for Tanjiro, he shows us to feel empathy even to your enemies and that we should not be consume of hatred and pursuit in revenge like Sasuke Uchiha from naruto and always shown forgiveness and sympathy to one another, and in a story where empathy is such a huge theme, I think Tanjiro embodies it perfectly imo. I don't want another character who's just seeking revenge again and again and again like Sasuke Uchiha.
Second of all, there's not a lot of world in fiction that makes sense like you say. There's no devil contracts like in Chainsaw Man, there's no curse energy like in Jujutsu Kaisen, and there's no magical fruits like in One piece. So, you could have said the same thing for a lot of manga/anime. You don't need a compelling world for the people to like it. You just need compelling character. That's why Denji, a human with two chainsaws as arm and a chainsaw on his head, is so compelling to other, because Denji is a realistic character despite everything he has. That's why a lot of characters in Demon Slayer are compelling and realistic.

my issue with demonslayer in general is that none of the sword techniques are real within a world of DEMONS with BLOOD MAGIC. Like idk what drove the mangaka to decide "yeah the sword swings are just visuals they arent real" like okay so then why do people get wet? the heat i guess can be argued as friction and wind can be described as fast slices using wind but then how does the snake hashira do HALF of the attacks he does without following the blade? His blade isnt the length of the attack depicted and he doesnt end up where the kill ends if he kills them with wind then why is he the snake hashira. I think it was a dumb narrative decision to not just make the techniques real, simple breathing technique that materializes the element its a world full of DEMONS why are the sword techniques fake? it was a dumb narrative choice and hurt the overall world building because things just dont make sense. Imagine if Gege came out and said "yeah all the animations for Cursed Techniques arent real its just a visual they dont actually happen" how much that would ruin the entire story like why is there a giant hole in bro if that hollow purple was fake. Why is homie wet if that water technique was fake? etc etc

What are you on about 😂. Demon slayer is literally the only anime in which all characters are relevant from murata to the master's children to even the little helpers. The storyline is good, the execution is perfect, all the characters have unique story. People hate it is because their favorite anime with "overcomplicated" characters plot and storyline which pretentious anime fans really suck on doesn't get the amount of appreciation and success demon slayer pulled off with just a simple and easy to understand plot.

@@ayushyasrivastava5189what abt one piece cuz some characters appear again in the story after HUNDREDS of episodes

    • @ultraaran15

@@ayushyasrivastava5189 you either are new to anime or havent experienced good anime. All the characters are relevant how? Sengoku literally gets introduced and dies in the same arc he has more screen time dead than alive in the rest of the series. Tanjirou is literally irrelevant in EVERY fight because the mangaka wrote a character not meant to be the strongest in a world where strength is literally the only thing that wins fights, theres zero tactics to these fights its not like something like HunterxHunter where a weaker character can be a stronger character on technique, its literally a pure powerscaled world that if you arent physically strong enough to cut someone's neck you just dont unless the plot allows you to.
Overcomplicated characters? You mean compelling? Have you see any anime before 2016? literally there are so many anime that arent complicated characters with better writing and more compelling character arcs. YuYu Hakusho, Yusuke Urameshi, 20x better a character than Tanjirou and whats his entire motivation? Keepin his family and friends safe. Also like to occassional get into street fights. Simple af character 20x the depth of Tanjirou because he CHANGES over the course of his anime/manga. He isnt like Tanjirou Happy from the start Happy to the end with zero changes to his character despite more than half of his friends and his entire family being utterly obliterated by the end of the story. While Yusuke by half way through the story has to face the reality that he cant hold onto his humanity if he needs to protect his friends and family. THATS not complicated thats compelling.

    Heres the obvious thing:
The story is too simple compared to others
(Romance anime has way way way way better writing)
Characterization sucks, they cannot make men act like men, i mean understandable the author is women
Character development sucks, yeah tanjiro infact get stronger, but i dont meant like his skill or physical development, i mean his character, nothing changed throught the series, unlike other anime, like how geto rethink his life after amanai's death and change his view of life
Power system, the skills for demons is just too op, i mean their whole point is people with illness, how tf an illness could create an infinite space, atleast give some explenation, they infact did not gave any, unlike others,
Like how csm explain that devils power are specific because of speccific thing people fears
Fandom, most of the fandom are newbies otakus, who havent read many light novels or mangas or watch anime oneshot movie,
And the worst is, most of them still misunderstood the point of breathing style, again, breathing style wasnt elemental powers, its just the style, there are no fire, no lightning, no water, its just visuals, they are just styles,
Mc, bro.., you are telling me this is an mc??,..
He is just too plain, i mean, its feels like deku from mha but with worse development
Villain, the villain goal is too simple, yes to be immortal,
How original, what a stupid mindset thinking immortality is a good thing,. I mean atleast give muzan a real villain kind of act,
Explanation, there is no further explanation how nezuko's blood became the cure or how nezuko be a human again, nor explanation how an illness could create infinite castle, this series needs more of informatiom
Finally, ending and potential, bro they could cook if they made tanjiro the next villain and gave the mc to someone else, to be a better mc, and no they did not, they give the "years later" Ahh ending which does not make sense knowing theres character that looks like other characters fron the main story who are dead before having child, and no explanation if they are reincarnation or not

People defend it or hate it, there's a clear cut criticism though that the fandom thinks it's a holy grail, that's where i draw the line myself, cuz I'll say it's good people still have complaints about the criticism as to why it can't be regarded as the best, Demon Slayer Fandom is not as toxic atleast i haven't came across a too toxic individual, but just stop shoving the agenda down people throats it's disgusting. By all means it's good but it cannot be regarded as the best and I'm fallowing the whole 1 manga story, not including all this extra side offs, cuz that's just disingenuous but it's plot is okay point A to point B, people sayt there's a nuance to the theme Good vs Bad but honestly it's too shallow, the not all bad people are villain, sappy backstory of what was good, it just becomes too generic at some point, i mean we've already had Villains with sappy backstory in the entire genre of Anime, the story in itself just is trying to play SAFE.
