Hi, I have watched this video 8 or 9 times and have a question. Do you think she is too small for a liveaboard couple to go cruising, this will be our first boat my wife is 5ft and also will be new to sailing, I am trying to follow Lin and Larry pardy's advice of "go small, go cheap, go now" but in your valued opinion is she too small? Thanks in advance.
The spreaders look very swept-back, which must have an impact on squaring off the mainsail downwind, esp.with full width battens. Is that a 2:1 spinnaker halyard?
Yes you are correct on both counts! You can’t let out the main too far before it touches the spreaders, so more frequent gybing is probably needed but at least she goes fast! Yep spinny halyard is 2:1 purchase which makes hoisting the code zero etc a breeze 😌
Hi Ricci We haven't seen you this Summer???, not so much as Best Beer Review...much needed in this weather:) Thought of you as my Skipper Bro and I are delivering a nice Dufour 33 past your neck of the woods in the Medway this weekend, from Ipswich and I know you've gone around the Chalky stuff.... were delivering to Torquay, any thoughts on best hops! along the Way, think prob 5 days +/_
Hi Chris hope you are well! Sorry for the lack of videos, we had a baby at the start of the year and that’s rather slowed production at home but thankfully not sailing! Funnily enough we set off at lunchtime today as my mission this week is to get to the solent to spend a week or so there. Tonight we will be in Ramsgate and hopefully tomorrow Brighton or maybe Eastbourne. I will have to let you know how we get on! Your trip sounds fantastic and I wish you well, please keep me posted - I’d probably say stop Ramsgate, Eastbourne/Brighton, Haslar & Portland depending on how long you want to spend for each passage. The Shell Channel Pilot book is a great addition to any library if you don’t have it already.
@@sailingsummerbreeze Well ***MANY CONGRATULATIONS***, great news.... so Boy/Girl how are Mum and Babe doing and are you taking baby too?? ala Delos/Ran/Nanji :) :) Thanks for the planning tips, I might just grab one of those guides , sounds a great resource. I'll keep you posted on our ports of call, don't expect you've got any spare time for video editing and uploads these days 😁😁😁😁😁😁 Best to you all.
@@chris-yale many thanks for the kind words! We’ve had a little boy who we’ve called Kit. He’s now 7 months. He’s been sailing a few times but isn’t much use yet. We made it to Lymington as hoped and now have a few days here with him & Jess at an Airbnb nearby as landlubbers - very far from the Delos franchise I’m afraid! Hopefully we will sail across to IOW in calm seas for a day trip. Good luck on your delivery and please keep me updated! I highly recommend Lymington it is sensational!
@@sailingsummerbreeze love the name, what do you mean "not much use yet" 😮😮 that said my eldest son is similarly dismissive about our first grandson.....and he's now 4, dear boy, mind you he's getting good on the iPad already!!!. Well glad you're enjoying your trip, tbh I don't know how the Delos tribe and others do it with youngsters aboard, but they do seem to manage it well, a lifestyle choice I guess . Well our first day complete, we're now cosily moored up inside the royal marina Ramsgate see pic, after a full on day, not to mention 2 metre alarms going off as we crossed sand bars getting out of the Orwell 😄
@@chris-yale well done, that’s a good start! Let me know if you are stopping by Lymington, here till Friday. Jess & Kit head home Wednesday. Fair winds and a safe passage.
I'm loving your videos - and this one is so informative
Thank you David 🙏 glad you found it interesting 😊
What a cracking boat and another excellent video. You’re becoming positively prolific!
Haha! Thank you Admiral 🙏 too kind. But of course there is no rival to ‘No Rival’ ⛵️
Very nice boat , Congrats Richard 👍 We bought the same one and received her one month ago ⛵️ All the best from Istanbul Turkey 👋
Yes I think Richard is very happy! Enjoy your new boat ☺️
did you break in a bank ? how you afford to buy a brand new sailing boat in Turkey with high exchange rate ? or are you a mafia ?

No mention of Keel profile. Is it a fixed dagger board style with bulb? Does this style of Keel have a habit of snapping Off?

I'm sure I caught some pics of you on Gillingham reach aboard this boat, was it at the end of June Ricci?
This was mid June but we did go out on her at the end of June as well. Love to see photos if you got any 🙏
@@sailingsummerbreeze I'll message them over for you 👍
@@PBphotos thanks mate!
its possible to ocean crossing alone with this boat?
I think so! The 349 is Cat A rated and very easy to single hand. Whether she is the best boat to do that is another thing… but she is a great boat!
no more videos?
Why the sailing gloves? Do you have soft baby hands?
