@@simonbestford7436 I'm lucky enough to go to the Newcastle and Spurs game in Melbourne. The stadium can have up to 100,000 people, hopefully a good atmosphere. If you would like an Aussie on your podcast I'd be happy to jump on some day.
Good’ay Mates from Aust. Love how you say warm sunny Aust in late Autumn. Where I am in the south I am waking up to 4degrees🥶 and then 13-16degrees 🎉in the day. I am new to Spurs and enjoying watching Ange’s progress in the EPL from a neutral prospective. It has been interesting to learn about the challenging life of a Spurs fan, being passionate about a club they live and breathe for. Encouraging to see you reconsider your principles after the Man City game; some podcasts were not so flexible and show the sadder side of being human- where as Johnny being a teacher would want young ones to learn we can all be a better person. Yours is a great podcast, always entertaining and informative! Wishing yourselves and the podcast the best for the off-season and look forward to 24/25. And from an Aussie COY-Ange😏
Cheers, Ross. Lovely comment and appreciate getting your thoughts in the pod. We try not to be too irrational, even though Spurs make it hard at times. I’ll really try to focus on supporting Spurs 99% and enjoying rivals trials 1% if I can!! We’re excited about what Ange will bring to N17 for season two.🙏🏻🤍COYA AND COYS!!
You’ve likely seen the more tribal and also twisted side of our fan base at times. We aren’t the most patient but Ange is the man we need to put us right. A big character with a great vision for the club. COYS
Thanks again Lads for a fantastic podcast this year. You guys are definitely my favourite online, very well balanced views across different areas of our club. Well done Boys!
Not after the shirt , a 67 year old in a football top is imo a bit sad. perhaps a bottle or 2 of Eldorado 12 year ? Helps enormously when watching Spurs Lately
Great listening to your Podcasts this year. Have enjoyed all of them. As for the season .... a great first year for Ange to finish 5th. When you think back to the start of the year, there was all doom and gloom after Kane left. Everyone would have taken a top 6 finish then. So, everyone should be happy. Sure it is disappointing to not play Champions League, but that is because Ange gave us hope when there was none. In his second season he will press for the top. As an aussie, very proud of the fact that a greek aussie has shown you poms how to play attractive soccer and have belief in your ability. Only sunshine ahead for Spurs supporters. Best wishes to all of you from Sydney. p.s disappointed that I am not going to Melbourne on Wednesday 😭
Thank you lads for your level headed shows, best spurs pod👍 Looking forward to Ange getting more of his players in, fantastic start to last season and I anticipate it will more consistent next campaign …COYS👍😁
Thanks Phil! Can’t wait for next season, agree, expect to see a more consistent Spurs and one that gets back into the top 4 and goes far in the cups. COYS

Well done lads. For me it was No 6 and Eze, now it’s a No 9 and a No 6 and Eze, with a back up CB/Wing back. Best player M VdV. Season 7/10. And I did pick us to finish 5th. Cheers
Still baffled as to why OSS has not got many more subs. Of the many I follow regularly this is the only one I watch to the end every episode.(truth) Must be the intelligence, wit, and charisma exuded by 5 of the most handsome guys on RUclips .(mostly truth) shirt size xl please.
Season review for your podcast? 10/10 - Best, most level headed, positive commentary in the Spurs podcast world. Best Performance of the season: Arsenal away. Madders pinching the ball off Jorginho and Sonny slotting the goal. Saka getting turned inside out by Madders. The game was exciting. We pressed them deep into trouble. It was quintessential Angeball and affirmation that it works. Worst Performance of the season: Newcastle. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. VDV and Udogie falling over for the first goal. Porro passing the ball into danger. VDV falling over again. Game to forget Player of the Season: So many good options, especially in defense. Vicario is now in the discussion as the best goalie in the prem. The team needs to protect him in set pieces though. VDV is the fastest man in recorded premier league history and his closing speed was phenomenal! Romero... after he came back and sorted himself out from injury... he was a GIANT out the back Udogie and Porro... unbelievable. Let's just give it to the defenders as a group. They've been fantastic. Even Ben Davies and Royal stepped up during that injury crisis and came through with excellent efforts to keep us in the race. Player I want to see in: 2 players. A great striker. A great DM. Give me Isak. Pure class. As a DM... i'm not sure who. But we need a good one! #InAngeWeTrust
Well put comment! Would love Isak but I have a feeling he’s going to stay at Newcastle. Full trust in Ange after his signings this season to find a great alternative though! COYS
When you analyse it - all your nominations for player of the year are defenders or GK. It shows that the front third is where the improvement (recruitment) needs to come. Goal scoring was an issue when you consider the possession we had. Ange loves goal scorers. His philosophy is if you score two goals, we will score three. It was the mantra of the great West Indies cricket teams of the 70's and 80's.
I think that is a good point and for me it was a tough call between the front line and the number 6. Close call and both needed. I think that the 6 also frees up the attacking options
Fortunately, the game on Wednesday is on free-to-air tv at 5.45pm here in Fremantle. Thanks again for the most enjoyable panel show around! Cheers, Lewis
Tottenhams record against teams who have been relegated is horrendous. The 5.0 defeat against Newcastle last game of the season under poch still haunts me.
great chat guys, i havent commented in a while , but end of season is as good a time as any. spurs 5th , with 6th highest wage bill. one of only 9 clubs to out perform their wage bill, and on the wages to league position criteria , spurs 8th best. based on net xg , which is in many respects a more accurate guide to performance outcomes than even the algorithms used to predict such things , spurs should have finished 7th , based on my analysis of squad performance metrics prior to the season starting , spurs only really had the 7th or 8th best squad , possibly even lower, so 5th is above expectations. my stats fit algorithm at the beginning of the season was predicting spurs top 3 , based on the type of attacking contribution data ange was generating at celtic adjusted for league strength, and after 10 in a row , i thought i might be onto something , but alas no. and that brings me to anges meltdown presser . bottom line , as the season progressed, the rest of the league that felt they couldnt go toe to toe with anges system, came up with very effective countermeasures , a carbon copy of the tactics deployed against anges celtic . in scotland , it took a full season for the rest of the league to come up with an effective strategy , in the epl , it took less than a third of a season . in a nutshell , compress the field , run a phased retreat block , and run a relatively high line , and where that line was ,nuanced depending on who the manager was, and then run an explosive transition game off turnovers to try and steal goals, either through that or set plays . end result spurs winning possession , but only getting low level momentum and either losing or not getting their fair share of xg , and as night follows day point drops happened. its not really the big games against better squads that cost spurs CL, more the dropped points to wolves and fulham etc . my observtion is , ange either doesnt have complete buy in with the squad , or parts of the squad dont have the skill set to execute, or both . spurs pressing numbers for instance are near the top of the league, but from what i can see against better opposition , the press is 1 or 2 seconds too slow , and in many respects its not really about fitness , but mindset to respond quicker to game state. you can create mindset and good habits , but its probably easier if its innate in the personality of the players. same goes for creativity . compressed field defenses require risk taking and running instead of passing solutions to overcome . ange yelling from the sidelines recently for the players not to back pass said it all . not enough risk taking and running. the solution in the next transfer window , is to buy the mindset, strikers like jack russells that chase center backs up every rat hole , and mids and wingers , whos first instincts are to move first , pass later , and create chaos that way. after one season, ange knows he hasnt got the players to execute angeball , and he is not winning the battle of wills with the squad, hence there may not be any more upside in the current squad, given in a number metrics spurs have out performed their true position in the league pecking order. theres more i could say, but its been a pleasure listening to you guys, keep up the great work

Great season, great podcast. If Spurs had Kane or converted more of the goal scoring opportunities, we would have been in the top 4 easily. great chat guys,
i havent commented in a while , but end of season is as good a time as any.
spurs 5th , with 6th highest wage bill. one of only 9 clubs to out perform their wage bill, and on the wages to league position criteria , spurs 8th best.
based on net xg , which is in many respects a more accurate guide to performance outcomes than even the algorithms used to predict such things , spurs should have finished 7th ,
based on my analysis of squad performance metrics prior to the season starting , spurs only really had the 7th or 8th best squad , possibly even lower, so 5th is above expectations.
my stats fit algorithm at the beginning of the season was predicting spurs top 3 , based on the type of attacking contribution data ange was generating at celtic adjusted for league strength, and after 10 in a row , i thought i might be onto something , but alas no.
and that brings me to anges meltdown presser .
bottom line , as the season progressed, the rest of the league that felt they couldnt go toe to toe with anges system, came up with very effective countermeasures , a carbon copy of the tactics deployed against anges celtic . in scotland , it took a full season for the rest of the league to come up with an effective strategy , in the epl , it took less than a third of a season .
in a nutshell , compress the field , run a phased retreat block , and run a relatively high line , and where that line was ,nuanced depending on who the manager was, and then run an explosive transition game off turnovers to try and steal goals, either through that or set plays . end result spurs winning possession , but only getting low level momentum and either losing or not getting their fair share of xg , and as night follows day point drops happened. its not really the big games against better squads that cost spurs CL, more the dropped points to wolves and fulham etc .
my observtion is , ange either doesnt have complete buy in with the squad , or parts of the squad dont have the skill set to execute, or both . spurs pressing numbers for instance are near the top of the league, but from what i can see against better opposition , the press is 1 or 2 seconds too slow , and in many respects its not really about fitness , but mindset to respond quicker to game state. you can create mindset and good habits , but its probably easier if its innate in the personality of the players.
same goes for creativity . compressed field defenses require risk taking and running instead of passing solutions to overcome . ange yelling from the sidelines recently for the players not to back pass said it all . not enough risk taking and running.
the solution in the next transfer window , is to buy the mindset, strikers like jack russells that chase center backs up every rat hole , and mids and wingers , whos first instincts are to move first , pass later , and create chaos that way.
after one season, ange knows he hasnt got the players to execute angeball , and he is not winning the battle of wills with the squad, hence there may not be any more upside in the current squad, given in a number metrics spurs have out performed their true position in the league pecking order.
theres more i could say, but its been a pleasure listening to you guys, keep up the great work
