You have no idea how liberating is to think youve lost a run because you died, only to come back and remember you have max lives now instead of just one
The hacks are at least consistent, it's luck of the draw when it comes to the color chips. Though it's better to unlock as many as you can. And maybe avoid splat zone floors if you can help it.
I checked the details of 8's Palette, and this game is harsh when it comes to hacks:colour chips ratio. No hacks: 36 chips 1 hack: 30 chips 2 hacks: 24 chips 3 hacks: 18 chips 4 hacks: 12 chips 5 hacks+: 6 chips So yeah, you really have to think about it. I don't want to hinder myself too much, but you've got to draw a line somewhere.

Floor skipping is an option you get when unlocking 8s palette, also with getting prlz as floor reward comes from maxing out your chip slots which is easy with 8's palette since its the only one that reduces palette slots depending on how many hacks you have activated
If you’re lucky enough, the color chips you want could also change when you skip floors, but that’s not always guaranteed, and with the limited spaces of the chips, you have to choose wisely for what hacks you want to have

Some hacks, like broken armor recovery and damage up, completely invalidate the need for a good portion of the chips, or they just make chips like absolutely broken. Having the amount of damage chips I did with 2x damage really curb-stomped the enemies, as you can see in the footage
Not exactly, you unlock it way earlier. Just the uploader didn't check back as often as they could have. You unlock it after clearing 11 Palettes, not all of them.

Not only do you lose your floor progress, but you also lose all the chips you’ve collected for that run. You can retry a run via spending Prlz at Marina’s hack shop, though it can get quite expensive.
you have to start over but you get a currency called Prlz depending on how good you did, and can spend those on things like extra lives for future runs or more damage

I get to the final floor and I get wrecked when I'm trying to destroy all the fucking portals and loose all my lives, it wouldn't be so stressful if I didn't have to start on the first floor with no retrys, It's both annoying and frustrating just like the final boss of sonic superstars and I hate it!!!
If you’re playing with chip bias on, then anything related to buffing the main weapon (power, range, ink efficiency, movement speed). If you’re not playing with bias, try and go for the lucky chips and mobility (chips for special can spawning and mobile special gauge)
The most useful hacks are Armor Recovery and Broken Armor Mobility, hands down. I recommend maxing them out as soon as possible! Broken armor jump is also useful, but not mandatory.
It's really busted when paired with stringer, but it's by far not a mandatory hack. The best ones are usually ones that increase your survivability. Though it's not mandatory, it's still a huge help for farming more Prlz due to you being able to clear the spire faster (portal floors are a complete joke)

Man this is a hard one to unlock, i ended up dying to the final boss on the final checkpoint... definitely feel like i need to pick better chips.

Each boss you do with each pallete give you a key, so to get agent 8's you have to complete the spire with every pallete

You can have as many as you want, but each one reduces the slots by 6, with the minimum slots being 6
