Thanks guys. Loved your sail school videos, We are flat out, just ordered new davits, solar panel regulator, guard rail netting. So lots to come. Still debating on 4K video camera, looked at G7 today, may open it up to the hive mind. Hows your new camera performing? Ant & Cid xx
SV Impavidus (Ant & Cid Sailing) Mega busy then 😳 it'll all be worth it. That was our first video in 4k, the Sony is amazing, we looked at g7x but it doesn't do 4k and you can't plug external mic in to it. X
We are going to make spray dodgers to stop the pooches ducking under the guard rails and to stop windage in the cockpit. We have the material on board and need to make some templates. We are confident that this is a job we can do. Hopefully we can video the process and pass on the knowledge. Ant and Cid x
that will be great. We are also refitting our boat (a 1985 Jeanneau Fantasia 27) and documenting the process on our channel, therefore this is very useful for us. thanks!
I am not an expert! But my OCD helps, lol. Anything we can help with we will try to help. We refitted our Westerly (1981) a few years ago, one job at a time. did everything from rigging to rebuilding the engine. it took time but it was fun and we sold the boat after ten years for £10k more than we bought it. Sail safe. Ant & Cid xx
We are going to make spray dodgers soon from scratch. Would you be interested in a video? We are not experts! But, if we can pass on any tips or tricks to fellow sailors, we would like to do so. Ant & Cid xx
Oh we just realised we missed that point lol. We went for the 6 HP 4 stroke. The 8 HP was too heavy and £900 more. Tender planes at 3/4 throttle. With Ant in it plus all the ground tackle, fuel and other bits and bobs. We got the Highfield classic in Hyperlon because we wanted a flat deck for the pooches, And the Hyperlon is much better in regard to UV degradation. It may be that we do a vid explaining the choices we made and why. Would that be of interest? Ant & Cid x
It's a Singer Paul, Heavy duty. I can not remember the model number but it was about £259.00 and can cope with 4-5 layers of sunbrella. It is in the forward hold but when I get it out next week to make the dodgers I'll update you and do a quick vid. Sail safe. Ant.
Ant you are killing me with jerking video. Whats the common problem as most of your video's are like this? I still enjoy all you have to show and say. Keep it up. thks.
Most of the video we are posting is 2 months old Luke. We now have it sorted. You will see better video and sound as we have spent some time and money sorting it out. That said we are just amateurs learning as we go. But thanks for the feed back its always positive to get something other than nothing and a thumbs down. Sail safe! Ant & Cid xx
If We had a £1 for all the innovations and modifications and upgrade we have done to boats over the years We would have a 56 footer :-) Just hope others can take something from our videos and see that it's not difficult if you go about things in the right way and have confidence. You will make mistakes but you learn from them and move on... Thanks for watching Luke, new video going up in the next 24 hours. Ant & Cid xx
Happy new tender and outboard day 🎉
Excellent choices 👌🏼

Can I ask what’s your sewing machine called?
