Melt cosmetics has been in my list of makeup brands to try ever since they came out with the rust stack. I agree withthe lighter shimmers but i guess that’s their style, dark and grungy. The looks look amazing! My favourite is the last look even though it’s your least 🥰
I thought of ur palette when I saw the Gemini II. Didn't think they'd look that similar in swatches, but the Red Dragon shimmers make its color story more versatile and high contrast. I wasn't interested in the Gemini II, BUT!! I got the Gemini I. Melt improved on both the mattes and the shimmers compared to the original, original Gemini I, where the shimmers had problems before. I still have to play with it more, but I love grungy greens and yellow-y browns bc my undertone is yellow. Gemini I makes a really nice companion palette to Red Dragon bc it expands on the neutral side on one end, and expands on the greens and depth (all the way to black) on the the other end. And then u get the color story of Gemini II too when it's combined w Red Dragon. 🍁🌹🖤💚😆
YESS THE REVIEW IS HEREE. I have both the gemini palettes and i def agree with your sentiments. Lighter, more high impact shimmers would’ve been nice but i find that the rich, darker satins are such a grunge vibe! I’ve become so obsessed with the other glittery foiled shadows that I was reminded of how beautiful just a standard, rich metallic can be:) hearing of that $15 int shipping kinda hurts my soul a bit so tysm for reviewing this, you’re the best 😭 love you sm! ❤️
I love the third look, I‘ve been wearing quite much of a peach+green or pink+green combos myself and find them actually very flattering. The palette gives me vibes of that I imagined Midi Retro from ND to be, before it was actually launched. However 8 mattes and 2 satins is a completely uninteresting ratio not for me, if I BYOP (in this case BMOP? 🤣) I go very shimmer heavy ✨😅
I was intrigued by the palette but I already have your palette (red dragon) & seeing the swatch comparisons between them !!!!! I won’t buy the Gemini rose palette because I have the best version of it & yes I wanted a lighter shimmer too , your red dragon palette is the perfect neutral rosy peachy palette that I didn’t know I wanted in my life (so dramatic I know ) but I’m a color lover & that was a first ✨💜
I recreated this color story with Red Dragon and the green shadows from Kaleidos Flower Punk and got it out of my system 😂 Your 3 looks are really inspiring!!
I bought these, on sale, at the Melt website, mostly for the mattes. I am planning to use them with my Adept shimmers. You have got to try their blinding shimmers most of them are multichrome and come in lighter colors too. They are soft, best with the finger and don’t fall out all over the place. They are the best shimmers I have tried and I have a huge Pat McGrath and Natasha Denona collection. I know you live in New Zealand but….. They are fantastic!!!! Right up their with the shimmers from your Red Dragon pallet. I haven’t tried too much Oden’s eye but their collab with you and the other creators had the best shimmers, of their brand, so far, I’ve been told.
Awesome! I just stumbled across your channel. You are great! I love both look 3 and 2 on you. I agree this palette needs another lighter shimmer. I'm going to have to take a closer look at your Red Dragon palette. It looks very tempting to me. I'm definitely to follow you to get some further tips.
Melt is one of my fave brands for mattes and colour stories, I love smokey grungy everything (though you can do soft with it). Plus I love mostly matte palettes because I feel inclined to use all my special singles. I loved the looks you did, the smokey red wing and the contrasting peach and olive was awesome (though I know it's not monochromatic).
Peach and olive are colors that go so well together but I never see! I really liked the 3rd look and can’t wait to try something similar (probably mixing The Child Palette & Baby Got Peach since I own those) Beautiful looks as always Judy ☺️
I really like these palette! I missed out on the first release so I was excited to try these. The formulas are really good. Melt blushes are the best too! And lippies!
I love your sweater Judy!! Looks so nice and comfy ☺ I don't have either of the Gemini palettes but I'll take this video as more inspo for my beloved red dragon palette 😍 Hope you have a lovely weekend 💕
I've seen some reviews of the Gemini II from black creators, and the shimmers are beautiful on them! I actually loved look 3 - it's a cool toned smokey eye without it leaning too grey.
I loved all the looks! I should be getting my palette this afternoon and look forward to recreating one of these looks tonight 😊. Thank you for an inspiring video 🙏🏼
I LOVE the idea of the colour story but considering the quality for the price, I think I’ll try to recreate it with singles from colourpop/ other brands
This pallette is beautiful, and I loved your looks. They do go more grungy in their pallettes which is nice comparing with other brands, but I do love a shimmer and for the price could be a little better
wow i love the third look, although you said you were out of your comfort zone you look so good! such a nice combo tbh, i will definitely try it out. ive been loooving grungy looks like this. melt's mattes are really nice, ive been eyeing the brand since back in the day with the stackable pigments but its just too expensive imo... and the colors are not that exciting. the gemini ones are the best bc olive tones are bomb but id rather buy a kaleidos palette and have more fun with the colors (and for half the price)
Fun fact: the shade "gemelas" [heh-meh-las] is actually Spanish for "twins"! I've found that Melt Cosmetics likes to incorporate Spanish words into their palettes but idk why lol
Lora, one of the founders, is Mexican. One of their most popular launches was the Vida and Muerte palettes, based on the Mexican holiday, Dia de Muertos. The Amor y Mariposas holiday collection is based around symbolism of buttterflies and passed loved ones, significant in Michoacan MX. It add that personal heart to collections.
@JUDY Would it be okay if I used a screencap of your palette comparison swatches in a video idea I got while watching this? To explain, I was considering getting rid of my Gemini II palette because the color story is similar to Meet Me in the Underworld and I felt like I don’t need both. I missed out on buying the Red Dragon palette last year because I asked for the Diversea palettes for Christmas and my family didn’t order them before they sold out. I’ve been thinking of buying the Red Dragon on a reseller market because I want it so badly, but didn’t want to pay $150. But I actually bought the Gemini I & Gemini II bundle, and I’d like to make a video: convincing myself to keep the Gemini II. I have 91 subscribers, so I’m not even monetized or anything, and I would absolutely credit you. But I’d really like to make that video after seeing this one because I am still so bummed I didn’t get Red Dragon.
This palette is a grunge dream, perfect companion to gemini. Their aesthetic is grunge. It's why I buy them. I have every melt palette that is permanent. There are only 2 I can say disappointed me, millennial pinx and Four Twenty. The rest are BOMB!!!! They usually have sales around a release, and Christmas is the mystery boxes that are soooo worth it if your new to melt.
That second look inspired on Minnie's makeup is everything, my favorite out of three.
my favourite too! glad you love it too ❤

yes i agree! fits their branding!

i also was quite surprised when i swatched side by side! and yes gemini I is beautiful too love how they are still improving their formula!

Yesssssssss, you made me more excited to get this palette, especially for the mattes. It'll be the perfect companion to Red Dragon for sure! 🌹🐉

Judy, would you do an unleisha review and swatch RUclips video? I saw your Tiktok and wanted to see more of them from you
I LOVE the idea of the colour story but considering the quality for the price, I think I’ll try to recreate it with singles from colourpop/ other brands
All of your looks were so pretty. Thanks for sharing.

@@j.uuuuudy You deserve to hear it! Seriously otherworldly, ethereal beauty! 🥰

I think the founders are Hispanic/Latin American … I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure ☺️

@@SuperStarr817 ohh that makes sense. I'm not Mexican but I can see that the color stories and concepts are curated and very well done.
Yaaaay! I have been waiting for you to review this brand :)
it was about time!!

@@j.uuuuudy Thank you, you’re so kind!
I'm pretty sure i will just get the #1 at one point. They all look great on you though!
The new Gemini palette is so tempting
I love all 3 looks you did!
thank you ❤❤
Judy’s intro is her saying THE STARS, THE LITERAL STARS HAVE ALLIGNED without saying it XDDD

Melt cosmetics is one of my favorite brands.

Same!
Either you are really tiny or the pallet is way bigger than I expected 😳
it's pretty long LOL
