That dirt damn! I had an electrical and electronic hobby growing up and i maintained my Nana's aircon and it was installed in 1990 and replaced 2013. Was once hit by lighting and had to rebuild the controller card. 😂 now its my job
Hard stars can also add stress to the start winding and potentially decrease the life of the start winding at the cost of a quicker startup that sees less inrush. As always good stuff man
We had a double start on our outside unit. I would hear the outside unit come on for 5 seconds, then cut off for 5 seconds, then start again and run normally. We tried and looked at everything. Come to find out it was our Nest Learning Thermostat. We got rid of the Nest Thermostat and replaced it with a Honeywell T3.... no issues and it is going on 2 months. I have a Sense power montior, which detected and saw the double start. I showed it to all the techs who was trying to figure out the issue. I highly recommend Sense Power Monitors, they are great at detecting issues that are random.
This is exactly what mine is doing now, and we have Nest as well, replacing them and I will give an update, only had for 3years, built the house brand new….
The pump on my detector makes that same fluctuating noise when it's in the manual mode. Sounds like the pump is speeding up and slowing down or something. Fieldpiece has still yet to give me an answer whether this is normal or if it is a problem in the circuitry of the detector causing it to do that. But it does seem to work pretty good in the manual mode. 😎👍
My AC was installed 11/2023, about 8 months ago. It runs for 8-9 minutes, then turns off for 5-6 during the day...at night, it's the opposite, it runs for 5-6 minutes and stays off for 8-9 minutes...is this normal? I live in Central Florida... I keep the thermostat at 75-76F.
Thank you for the video. My AC has always short cycled for years now and it's been frustrating because we've had several techs out through my insurance company only to be told nothing is wrong and a check for $75 is written out. Wish I had a friend who can really tell me what's going on with the AC.
Here's one thing seems no one on Internet wants to address does cooking at night in summer cause ac not to turn off for hours before going back to normal cycle
That condenser unit is too close to wall. I think technician need some room to set and work on unit… maybe I am wrong but that is tight spot at least for me..
Yeah it was definitely tight and should at least be turned so the service panel is facing to the right. Not something they were willing to pay for though.
The AC runs fine on medium fan speed, but stops after ten minutes on High fan speed. And restarts again after about ten minutes. Why this peculiar problem?

I remember it was a Mitsubishi just not model
Super interesting. I bet that pulsating noise is an air pump in the leak detector.

@@BDP2007 Once we got rid of the Nest, no more double-start issues. I have a Sense Monitor, so I could see the double start and prove it to AC people.
What is that tablet / app guages your using
Mine was caused by a defective thermostat.
Was your thermostat manual or electric?
Awesome tools

Oh really? I'm gonna try to get an answer too. Thanks for the info!
Mine don’t work in manual mode at all.

What was the issue?
@@joey2729 I was told by the AC guy this is normal 🤷♂
@@mr.boniato6402 thanks for replying. Going through that now. Scared cause I had two compressors go out.

Just repair the leak. It isnt like its full of leaks, besides it is really small leak. It didnt evem had oil on it
He probably could have tried some of that easy seal, I heard it works I haven't used it myself but I heard it works for small leaks
What is the repair that needs to be done on that unit?
Replacement of the coil?
Yes condenser coil replacement. Part 2 will be coming out soon covering how to replace a condenser coil
bruh. u let it short cycle continually. you are damaging their compressor. dude. ITS LOW ON REFIGERANT.

That thing is so crammed in the corner, you gotta be a contortionist just to look at the contactor.
😂 Yep. The coil replacement video is coming out soon. We had to remove the unit and pull it into the yard to replace it.

I would get a new outside unit.
Can't hear you!!! Very low
That is a disgrace how they did not up keep their outside unit! Shameful!
Particularly if they have an annual inspection check up contract.
