One of the biggest issues with that game was all the pointless uses of the word "damn". Like he said it ALL OF THE TIME! Not only did it raise the age rating for the hell of it but it just felt off. Sure Shadow was always an anti hero but he wasn't mature. Forcing him to be so just felt like a kid pretending to be an adult. However I absolutely loved this song so at least something good came out of this game.

I like the edge. Shadow the Hedgehog style edge has an appeal to it. Of all the Shadow the Hedgehog songs, I feel that this one has about an average amount of edge to it. Certainly not as edgy as Almost Dead nor as angsty as Chosen One.

Most people seem to remember I Am All of Me, Never Turn Back, All Hail Shadow, and Waking Up, and seem to forget Chosen One and Almost Dead. I have a feeling people forget Chosen One because it’s a rather slow song compared to the others. As for Almost Dead, it is most definitely the edgiest ending song and it has some screamo vibes to it, so I see why people pass up on it, despite the fact that it plays for almost half the game’s endings (4 of 11 of them to be exact). A little fun fact: I Am All of Me wasn’t originally going to be the main song. Who I Am by Magni-fi was. Who I Am isn’t in the game itself, but was still released by Magni-Fi. If you like the Shadow songs I heavily suggest checking it out.

Dude what is more badass than a cartoon hedgehog wielding a gun and choosing between corruption and good will? I don't care what anyone else says about it, its always going to be a super cool story point of view. And this song literally en-captures the feel of being able to chose your own fate.
This game was my first T-rated game, got it for my 13th birthday. I wouldn't say it's outstanding, but it kept me entertained for a LONG time. I got all A ranks and all keys in this game. I think it's fair to say it's better than most people remember.

I freaking love this! Not just as a song, but the way you changed it up slightly: My favorite parts are the beginning of the song with the build-up is the coolest thing, or the parts where he says "Go ahead and try to see through me" you can hear him gritting his teeth, building up to when the guitar KICKS back in! It has this fear factor to it, like you can tell Shadow's pissed, and because of that, you're afraid of him. That part just REAKS of edgy-ness and aggression, and my god I love it!
I find it funny that despite being the song that plays for 4 of the 11 endings, nobody remembers Almost Dead. Then again nobody remembers Chosen One either.
Many people remember almost dead and I hate it. I am one of them. It has a short portion that is good(Instrument solo), but otherwise it is just edgy metal and that is just a bad direction to go in. I think the semi dark route kinda deserved better than to be the afterthought(Which it is. the semidark hero ending would have worked much better as a neutral ending for lavashelter because it is shadow getting his answer from pure ignorance and his conclusion is very unspecific)
I love all of the attention the Sonic franchise has been getting lately. This song and the opening scene for Shadow the Hedgehog were some of the best parts of the game. Back when it first came out I'd boot up my Game Cube just to watch it over and over again. Awesome cover, I love the vocal distortion it's so gritty and intense! Funny story. This was my first "Sonic" game and I bought it with my parents when I was about 10ish. We put it into the XBox and they watched me play it; I was having a blast..... Up until I died for the first time.
I'm not embarrassed to say I spent countless hours on this game, it was actually my favorite game for a long time. I didn't have many games, I had some terrible ones like Nemo or Tak (or at least that I didn't like) and when a friend of mine gave me this one my mind was blown. I honestly thought it was amazing lmao and it brings back so many good memories
If you think about it this theme represents the game itself because in order to be the true shadow you must have completed all the dark and hero missions, so basicly youre a black hearted evil and a brave hearted hero at the same time.

Not just as a song, but the way you changed it up slightly:
My favorite parts are the beginning of the song with the build-up is the coolest thing, or the parts where he says "Go ahead and try to see through me" you can hear him gritting his teeth, building up to when the guitar KICKS back in!
It has this fear factor to it, like you can tell Shadow's pissed, and because of that, you're afraid of him.
That part just REAKS of edgy-ness and aggression, and my god I love it!
I find it funny that despite being the song that plays for 4 of the 11 endings, nobody remembers Almost Dead.
Then again nobody remembers Chosen One either.

Choses One is usually remembered as one of the underrated gems. I just don't think people like Almost Dead. I don't like the latter.
Many people remember almost dead and I hate it. I am one of them. It has a short portion that is good(Instrument solo), but otherwise it is just edgy metal and that is just a bad direction to go in. I think the semi dark route kinda deserved better than to be the afterthought(Which it is. the semidark hero ending would have worked much better as a neutral ending for lavashelter because it is shadow getting his answer from pure ignorance and his conclusion is very unspecific)

I'm not embarrassed to say I spent countless hours on this game, it was actually my favorite game for a long time. I didn't have many games, I had some terrible ones like Nemo or Tak (or at least that I didn't like) and when a friend of mine gave me this one my mind was blown. I honestly thought it was amazing lmao and it brings back so many good memories
