No top?...I have a feeling that a piece of marble or some other decorative slab may have been in place, though such a weight might also be risky...good colour, and not over-restored...dgp/uk
My Mother had a similar table. It had a marble top. She called it a Petticoat table. The women used it to check their petticoats before leaving the house. I believe they were actually called Pier tables and were made to sit between 2 windows and the mirror was to reflect the light.
