Learned something in this video. I didn’t realize that either Lysenko or Huilan had actually medaled on vault at the Olympics! I knew obviously that Tatiana won the beam gold but not a bronze on vault. It’s also interesting to know Henrietta Onodi won a vault gold- I always associated her with beam but she was a brilliant vaulter. The best ones to me were Annia Hatch- only because of the story behind her journey to the Olympics. Screwed over by Cuba then welcomed by the Americans and now a two time silver medalist (including her team one)! Rebecca- simply because again, she’d faced huge adversity and overcome in the ultimate fashion. The hardest was Anna Pavlova- one unfortunate mistake cost her dearly.
This baffles me, because some, not all, but still a good amount, of these vaults were some of the worst vaults performed in any given Olympic cycle. Did you have access to the entire vault finals for each Olympic year?
Yes, I divided into two groups: 1992-2021 and 1952-1988. Then I will make an All Time version after Paris. Every gymnast in this video is an Olympic vault medalist tho.
It is being done a points system based on medals (Biles has only 1 Olympic vault medal due to her stopping in the middle of the 2021 Olympics, while Paseka has 2). Of course it won't always accurately reflect quality.
@@gymnasticfan9148 It’s a tough question! I think the Olympic gold is such a high honor that it should be tough to rank most combinations of multiple placements that don’t include a gold above it. Should two bronze medals place above one gold? I don’t really think so! Should two silver? Maybe! I definitely understand that competing in multiple Olympics is a feat in itself and should be counted. I agree with counting 4th through eight in single digit increments, but maybe the increments for the medals should be even larger? I know you’re already doing that to an extent, but maybe the points for the medals should be further away from the rest, with the difference between 1st and 2nd being more than the difference between 2nd and 3rd. Again, love these videos and what you’re doing and I recognize that it’s a tough formula to come up with. 😊
@@jessicadebernard8210 The initial idea of this serie was highlight those gymnasts who always qualify to the finals but don't medal (like Seitz on Bars). I will definetly do a version considering only medalists and including Olympics + Worlds, about the scores, I was planning to give, at Olympics: Gold - 6 pts , Silver - 4 pts, Bronze - 2 pts; at Worlds: Gold - 3 pts, Silver - 2 pts, Bronze - 1 pt.
I appreciate the effort put this video but paseka has the worst execution ever. Im happy she didnt permanently injured or worse doing one of this uncontrolled vaults.

Come on Rebeca and Simone takes paseka’s 1# after Paris
This was only about medals- results. It doesn’t reflect quality.

This is a joke right? Maria Paseka over Simone Biles?
She is the only gymnast here 2 times Olympic medalist. Simone is a superior vaulter, but this video is only about results
Have you even read the title 😂 you americains

Ónodi Heni 🤩🇭🇺
Love these videos, but not sure that a third place and a fifth place should rank above a single gold medal.
I was thinking the same thing, maybe we should change the values. Any suggestion?
I think the same but i also think about the "longevity " or the fact that you reach two or more olympics apparatus finals, it doesn't happen easily

@@jessicadebernard8210 I think this score system is more "fair" and will be even more interesting to do/watch.
i can't believe you didn't include Shannon in this!!! VERY disappointing!!!
Her best result at Olympics was a 6th in 1992
