Fun fact: it's also called the Hayabusa because the Paragrine falcon actually eats blackbirds, this is really cool because the previous fastest top speed bikes was the blackbird, which means the hayabusa beat the blackbird, just like how paragrine falcons eat blackbirds.
I've only owned two Japanese built bikes, a 1987 Yamaha FZ700 Pure Sports, and a 1990 Suzuki GSX-R 750R, both were ported and polished with the GSXR being a damn quick bike....but I'm an Indian Motorcycle man now exclusively, they're American made so that's the only motorcycle company I'll support....but I gotta admit, that MV Agusta F4 312 is one badass bike, as is that BMW S1000 RR, holy hell what a beast....
Im glad the Dodge Tomohawk wasnt granted more than passing comment as it has never proven itself. With two wheels so close together Im sure at speed it is dangerously unstable if it gets into a wobble so nobody dare push it and Dodge dont want to embaress themselves
In the speedometer yes, but true speed around 370kmh , Kenan riding the bike, on a longer straight it could be faster, he rode it on a 2.6km long bridge
I am talking about the H2R run in the video, Kenan riding it on the bridge, they show speedometer reading 400kmh and say its a world record, when its definitely not that high, you can calculate it based on the bikes power and acceleration on that distance. Where is the speed trap results, or even a radar gun reading ? Surely it will be faster when giving more distance and good conditions, why not over 400kmh. You can take the max revs, gear ratio and calculate how much is the theoretical max speed, and then find a place where it can be done. 15 years ago i rode my bone stock Hayabusa , got a speedo reading of 340kmh, was it true speed, definitely not, i rode it downhill, in decent wind and speed error around 10%, there you have it, 300+kmh.
the video is really nice and informative, i like it but i have one problem with the numbers... me as a motorcycle driver myself don't see the numbers from 0 - 100, because you can't get faster then anywhere the 2.5 sec mark. basically every bike is on the physical limit the gravity provides us, every motorcycle on this list has the problem that the front wheel doesn't stand on the ground, even on 120kmh, means they all have the maximum acceleration available on a physics standpoint... it is rather more interesting to see the numbers from 0 - 200, or even higher, for an american for example the 0 - 100mph range or even higher... the impressive numbers are not the 0 - 100 kmh... its the numbers above... the first gear of bmw s1000rr goes up to 150kmh means, this bike doesn't see the 0 - 100kmh acceleration as a threat in any way... i mean.. in like ... no way at all, it is just something on the first gear anywhere in the middle of the rev available, some acceleration....... greetz from germany
The speeds are accurate, and I agree with the list however he is way off in the cost of these machines. If I could find an s1000rr for 13k that's a steal. You're looking at 22k-26k depending on features in my area.
I saw a y2k turbine bike last year while i was living in Phoenix Arizona. The owner brought it to a car meet known as the “pavs”. Saw it a couple times. Owner fires it up for everybody almost every time he has it out. Such a cool bike
Keep in mind - the creator of this video is talking along the lines of modified motorcycles. But yes his numbers should have been looked over a little bit.
The Kawasaki H2 have hit 402kmh with modified parts in Brazil, the team that did that posted in the internet, but the pass was made in a public road, and the rider got arrested after became news.
Well Kenan Sofuoglu made that 400 kph with just tiny changes can’t consider as a modified bike. So that’s the point in here you can reach highest speeds ofc with making modifies on bike but without doing it that’s the important part
As far as I’m informed, the MK1 Hayabusa has 175 HP, not 170 as mentioned (and the MK2 197 HP). By the way... it’s hard to get lower than 2.8-3.0 sec. from 0 to 100. My old Suzuki GSX 1100 EF, which hit the market in 1984, officially did it in 3.9 sec. However, the Germans was said to do it in just 3.0 sec. I think that’s pretty amazing for such an old bike! :-D
My RZ 500 doesn't really measure up with the bikes on this list but, hitting the power band on a 4 cylinder 2 stroke is just as amazing as it is scary as hell.
How are you going to miss the Vyrus 987 C3 4V?! Until the H2 came out, this was considered the fastest production motorcycle on the market! 987cc short wheelbase, carbon bodied with a front swingarm instead of forks, and did we mention a FACTORY SUPERCHARGER?! 211 horsepower from a FACTORY BIKE. And should have been at least #3 on this list!
Far cry from my '86 steel framed KZ1. My experience at speeds over 175mph is that your bike gets smaller until you feel like your hanging onto a touchy skateboard peering down a tunnel. Be careful out there boys, the thrill lasts for minutes but injuries if you crash last the rest of your life.
I’ll give you credit , semi accurate list . The exception would be the y2k , a production bike guaranteed to exceed 250 mph. Though the bargain is the h2r
As an ex M/C road-racer my self, I really don't understand test riding a bike "Like A Death Wish" at or near 200 mph on a public highway even if its a European Autoban. Knifing thru cars like they are standing still, is just plain insane just to prove a point how fast that particular M/C can go. And I understand "going very fast" as I did so on a TZ700 on a track but not a public highway with cars, and some of those cars have children. I guess I'm just getting old.
Well honestly Yamaha motorcycle are not bad i just preffer Suzuki,Bmw and Kawasaki then Yamaha and i also preffer Honda then a Yamaha just because my father had the first CBR fireblade, and I’m not here to say Yamaha is garbage they make amazing Atv like the Raptor 700r and they are the one that make the 2JZ in Toyota Supra but here in Canada Yamaha have pretty much a bad reputation for their snowmobile (except Sidewinter) but it’s just like pick-up truck, some pick up are disliked depending on which town/city youre in

An interesting if somewhat inaccurate one. For instance, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX 12R did NOT come with 190 hp., it had 178 (I own one).
