Apparently Walmart has it's own brand of gaming peripherals so I bought a whole Walmart Gaming setup to see how it stacks up.

Can I just say that after almost 8 years together I didn't know about Dawid's ability to turn into Micky Mouse/Mom/Lady person. That voice! Practically came out of nowhere
i bet Dawid has more secrets in store for us.
He keeps it fresh
@@kirby1225 no doubt about it 🤣

Dawid you're great at doing tech stuff, but it's quotes like this that keep me coming back for more!
Welcome to Uganda ZULUL
You'd be surprised at the kind of scary stuff a lot of e-waste peripherals try and get away with. 😅
@@DawidDoesTechStuff I hope you read this, the onn monitor that I got (27" 60hz) looked like a hot pile of garbage with blacks being grey until I went into the settings and changed it from 60hz to 75hz. For whatever reason the blacks went from grey to actually black and the general picture quality was greatly improved. Just was bothering me that this review probably would have been alot different as far as the monitor if you did the same. Cheers dawid love your videos 👍
As a Ugandan, I found this funny.
It is always a delight to see Dawid review random E-waste since all the Techtuber nowday just go for Highend unobtainable hardware...
i hate all of the "lets build a 3080 or 3090 pc today" videos

No "probably" about it. At least Dawid wasn't wearing a mankini.
So glad I left you all with that image 🤢🤮
Haha!! That's true, he was laughing more than terrified. My mom adventure was probably one of the more normal things that happened in the shop that day. 😂
I work for Walmart, I have 29 of them, I've seen WAY worse.

@@DawidDoesTechStuff I’ve seen photos of cowboys wearing high heels and “Daisy Dukes” in WalMart. Yours was fairly normal.
Honest question. What do you do with all this crap that you buy? Do you give it away? Do you feel _okay_ giving this crap away? Or do you just have an ever-expanding storage unit full of e-waste? I am legitimately curious.
I've always wondered the same!
At this point that e waste is gold to me
He probably returns them....you can return any item for up to 30 days in canada as long as its not broken even if you opened it, except like intimate things like socks and underwear

Oh cool! I didn't know they had a wireless mouse. Walmart really surprised with their gaming stuff.

This thing reminds me of when 1440x900 was mainly what people had.
The VGA port makes sense, as this monitor would also be sold as other brands in developing countries where VGA is still widely used. That's how Walmart gets them so cheap; it's just a mass-manufactured unit they put an ONN stamp on.
That mic sounds shockingly good for what it is.
Is that an fp in the background?
You might as well put VGA on any 1080p or lower monitor. It’s still good enough for most people.
@@EvilTurkeySlices Absolute vast majority would never see any difference. Also why you see a lot of businesses still rocking them.
Ain't broke don't fix.
Tonight: Dawid buys some ewaste peripherals, a dog looks over a wall and James says hello to a girl.
*”Jessica” by the Allman Brothers Band plays*
Tonight on bottom gear
"Hello"
I love that Dawid has committed to using the pink Aliexpress PC as a test bed
I'd argue that the VGA port on the display is actually amazing.
The kind of people who buy a display at WalMart likely have an outdated system and it seems to hit their target market pefectly well. Esp for that size of a display which isn't one a modern gamer or productivity minded person would buy anyway.
Gotta say that apart from the headset that peripherals bundle was considerably better than e-waste, and even the headset could serve in the short term if you are on a tight budget. Granted, the monitor was a little lacking for gaming, but it was fine for general use.
Your humor is absolutely splendid. Thanks for the chuckles!
Dawid: *makes obscure reference*
Me, eight hours later: “I am now aware of the importance of producing goods with a high production cost but low consumer cost locally, as the benefits from the lack of a need of infrastructure to deliver and stock that product outweighs the costs and taxes to transport it. This reliance on infrastructure can result in bottlenecking or desire to control the infrastructure for malicious or exploitative intent if anomalies occur”
😂
That prehistoric port is always present on budget / office monitors though. Even big brands still put D-sub on theirs.
My Asus vp249qgr has it, and it’s a 144hz 1080p freesync monitor.
Even though it's sponsored by wave 3, all I heard was: LINOOODE!!!

Looking forward to the alienware video if dell doesn't cancel your new order again.
I actually have this exact kit! Excluding the Monitor of course. For those who may be curious, they hold together surprisingly well, mine has lasted nearly two years now with no defects or malfunctions to speak of. Still want a better set, but it's a great option on a tight budget.
the logitech g910 is a very nice keyboard to get when you can afford it rgb and so satisfying to type on I highly recommend it

I had two of those onn monitors. Something that could help for people on a budget and wants two monitors, getting a dual mounted monitor stand would greatly help with the slouching.
I’ve got that exact same keyboard in the UK, from Asda. The backlight on our version is changeable. We get an FN key and pressing that and the backlight changes it between RGB, on/off, flashing and dim. You can download software for it as well so you can map the keys and colours.
Interesting bought almost this exact keyboard mouse kit in the UK ASDA a couple years back keyboard died agfter a year headset cable wore out and the mouse pad is still great it was around £30 on offer. Thoughj the mouse was diffirent it is much better and still works today.
Makes sense as Walmart own ASDA

Dawid is one of the few "TechTubers" I watch and actually listen to the ad because of his sense of humor.
"Lenoooode"
6:26 Wow that monitor reminded me of a “bobble head”
my mom got me this kit about 3 years ago. the mouse broke a few months ago but the keyboard and the headset are still holding up. and the headset isnt too bad
The brain is incredibly good at tricking itself. What I'm talking about is that headset. Even if you can hear a huge difference in sound quality when listening to different headsets or speakers your brain will moderate your perception of the sound quality if you stick to one setup for long enough. I've had enough crappy computer speakers and headsets to have experienced it numerous times. For most people this is enough that after a while even a very crappy setup will be acceptable.
@@blahorgaslisk7763 that part about the brain moderating sound quality is very true.
@@louiesatterwhite3885 Well it works as long as you don't have some other sound source that has much better sound quality. Switching between say a decent pair of headphones and crappy speakers and the other way around will remind you every time just how bad one of them are.
Now if that is a big problem is another question. Some people, me included, aren't all that particular about it while others can't stand it.
Now aging has taken a toll on my hearing with tinnitus and high frequencies getting hard to hear. And yet my brain insists my hearing is fine...
Be kind to your ears while you are young. I know it feels like you are invincible, like nothing can harm you, but when you're fifty and your hearing degrades a bit more every day it's to late to do anything about it. I did almost all of the damage to my hearing before I turned thirty. After that I've been pretty careful, but the damage was already done.
@@blahorgaslisk7763 I appreciate the advice, but you're somewhat preaching to the choir. I have sensitive hearing to the point that volumes other people listen to normally causes me physical pain, so on most headphones/speakers the volume doesn't go past 30%
@@louiesatterwhite3885 Sorry for any preaching. I just feel a lot of people are unnecessarily reckless about their hearing when young. So I sometimes take a chance to tell of my own experiences when given a chance. If it makes one person think before turning up the volume for that favorite song then it's a win in my book.
Monitors have powerbricks? Cool.

That Blackweb Keyboard is a champ! I have two of them just because I love them so much. Even have the wired wide mouse and headset. That was an awesome cheap alternative brand. I miss Blackweb :'(.
They even made amazing audio peripherals like speakers with small subs and giant speakers.
Waiting to finish my Blackweb themed setup.

That logitech g502 comment caught me off guard cuz i instantly fell in love with it with hand placement and the clickitty feel of the the g512 lol
In the US, Walmart uses the Onn brand for their gaming peripherals. I have the mouse, mechanical keyboard, and rgb mouse pad.
gotta love RUclips closed captioning talking about the monitor's VASE AMOUNT lmao
Our ASDAs here in the UK were owned by Walmart until early this year. They still have, and sell, a lot of Walmart sub-brand stuff like Onn and BlackWeb...
Hey Dawid! the reason the monitor has a vga port is because most offices or office based work uses vga cables and monitors because they are cheap and easy to find. hope this helps!
The slow pace of advancement in corporate computing is one of the biggest reasons legacy hardware and software get kept alive for so long.

I bought a black web blue switch keyboard a few years back and it has held up and the clicks feel great. Relatively cheap too
Onn brand monitors are amazing!!!
I’ve gotten a similar Walmart Peripherals kit for $40-50 the keyboard, mouse, and headset are definitely good for just starting out in PC gaming.
We have those Blackweb and onn. products here in the UK too!! They're actually sold in a store named ASDA, I'm pretty sure that it's owned by Walmart.
I find it pretty cool how you have some of the same products in Canada that we do in the UK.

I have a Dell monitor at home with the stone age port on the back. It also has HDMI and display port. It's a weird combo.
Coincidentally we in the UK have that same keyboard set in Asda!
Huh that's interesting! I guess Asda & Walmart have the same supplier?
Currently watching this on blackweb headphones from that bundle and was still using the mouse pad until a few weeks ago. the mouse broke almost instantly but apart from that it has done well for 3 years of continued use.
Do a review on Red Dragon peripherals.
I have 2 ONN 24 inch monitors from Walmart. I have used now for almost 4 years, no dead pixels or problems still.
That headset reminds me of an old news radio episode where one of the characters gets really into rap music, but doesn't realize it has lyrics because his bass is turned up so high.
3:54 those VHS tapes had to go somewhere, Dawid... think of the environment 😆
Ayyy i have one of those black web keyboards (centuar). It's been working pretty well, and it's actually lasted for a long time. Pulling the keys off is a pain though
I enjoy my black web mouse and keyboard. I've replaced the keyboard recently, but they have been good for a couple of years.
Yes I remember that keyboard well... Good luck finding the software for that blackweb keyboard. I found it on someone g drive and you cant set the g keys you can only change the backlight color
if its an onn monitor can you never turn it offf?
No, you can only use it once a month
Hahahahaha It’s Onn forever
Oh shit, you actually got the mouse this time haha. I will say that I used that exact blackweb supplies with my budget setup for a long while before I upgraded and honestly if you're not playing high-end FPS in a competitive sense, they are actually perfectly fine. I played Fortnite, WoW, ESO, Planetside and a few other games with them and they were fine. I can honestly say for the price, they aren't bad and for those looking for even more savings, Black Friday and Christmas time they go down to around 75$ sometimes too. I also used to use Onn monitors but man, not a terrible screen but they are only angled downwards and its a pain in the ass, I had to use my venom toque to angle it properly lol.
I used a blackweb keyboard for awhile and it really wasn't too bad. The one I bought had 3 color options for the led lighting. I used it for awhile and was fine with it until the E key stopped working for no reason. Also had one of those ONN monitors for awhile that I bought on black Friday for like 80 bucks and the main bitch I had with it was the fact that you cannot adjust the tilt of the monitor AT ALL, which wouldn't be too much of an issue if not for the fact that the monitor was tilted slightly forward/downward.
Hey Dawid, we don't have Walmart in the UK, but we have ASDA, who are owned by Walmart, some, if not most of this stuff is also sold here in ASDA
Fun fact, Durabrand is the manufacturer of ONN products for Walmart
I was actually impressed by the Walmart headset mic, lol!
That wave 3 does sound good
That is actually my exact daily monitor. It's not THE BEST but I love it. Got it for like 80 bucks. Only main issue in the stand. It sucks and makes the monitor face at a downward angle. A total ergonomics nightmare. I use a couple of thumb tacks to fix the height issue though. Also, it has psuedo almost hdr, which helps with contrast a bit. Game mode SEEMS to help with latency issues and it can be overclocked to 75 Herz but it loses even more of it's contrast. I'd say, if you're broke and it's on a deal get it. Need a cheap second display? On sale? Get it. If not. Don't waste your money. It's average
I bought a screen protector for my switch from black web about 2 years ago now and it has held up fairly well
I have Blackweb PC speakers and they've been perfect for me the last year or so! :)
The peripherals are Razer special order and the monitor is an LG but that can vary depending on if LG is running low.
That keyboard is exactly the same as the Amazon Basics Gaming Keyboard. Down to the printing on the keycaps. I wonder if Walmart bought them all after Amazon discontinued it.
I only have that "prehistoric cable" as you put it lol
Great vid idea: Comparing those 2 inexpensive periferal sets to other inexpensive, but better quality periferals. Redragon brand comes to mind. They may cost like double the price of those cheaper periferals, but it's not break the bank high, and as someone who's used Redragon, I can tell you the quality is WAY better. Lol
Yep...colors on my Redragon keyboard are terrible, but the thing has lasted 3 years, the software does what I want it to do, the keys feel great...on a $50 mech keyboard. In contrast, my old $180 MSRP Logitech Orion G910 didn't even last a year before getting key chatter. Logitech sent me a brand new (looking) replacement under warranty. Key chatter came back in ~6 months. The lighting was beautiful, but what's the point if it's garbage? My Redragon MMO mouse is almost as old and zero issues. It's lasted longer than my Corsair MMO mouse (left mouse button died).
@@iguanac6466 Exactly. They may not be "top of the line" but I'll be damned if they're not quality products. I myself have a K551 Redragon keyboard that, while the rgb lighting is limited to passing thru the keys only, is solid as all hell. It almost feels like you could beat down an intruder with the thing! Lol
