Great video and entertaining 😂🍻 I have a ‘20 Colorado Z71. I watched a RUclips video a few months ago, showing that all you have to do is unplug that safety device. I’ve been putting up with this crap for at least six months. Obviously, I’m a little lazy, and a major procrastinator to remedy this, I like the zip tie fix. Just wondering if it’s absolutely necessary that I use a zip tie. I wonder if just unplugging it would be enough as long as it’s in the release position and can get my key out. My thinking is if there is no power to that module, that it won’t move. Just a theory that I’m going to try.
I like the way you work, cus i like to work the same way😂fast and easy,,Frind i spend over 160 dollars and no body could fine the problem, til a watch your video in al did it in 15 minutes works perfect! Thanks
Any update? because I have 2019 and if I start with it moving around a little it let's my key go, it's only when I go long distance, I have to leave my key in lock position, give it a min and then move my wheel a little and then it let's go.
i have the same problem and this solution make total sense, i will make it, thanks for the information,

I got a local Todd....He said to do the same thing. Which is amazing
That is hilarious and awesome!
Thanks brother. I have a Silverado doing the same thing and it’s too hot in Texas trying to sit and wait for the switch to release.
Not bad! Have fun!

It has worked flawlessly since I did this.
Flick the shifter release its a bad connection in the shifter.
That worked for a little bit, then nothing after a few months.
@Beer_fueled_work you Caan replace it with a equinox shifter for a couple hundred bucks, mine still works with one flick.
Just curious if you tried to just unplug the solenoid?
I did not, I wanted to eliminate it from the equation. Feel free to try it.
Im so doing this... easy fix.
