I’m glad I found this. I plugged mine up today and didn’t want to take it apart until I found a video to explain what I have wrong. Thank you. As Arnold would say “I’ll be back”

in my case the fan housing was actually broken. But this helped me find the issue. THanks!

Holy cow! I have been racking my brain trying similar solutions you mentioned in the video.... if I go tighten those two screws and the problem stops.... well..... I’m not sure if I will be happy or irritated that the fix was right there and sooooo simple! It’s so frustrating to have to vacuum it out in between every run...Thanks for the video!

How many of the worldly problems could be solved if we only tighten up the "loose screws"! !! !!!
Glad the problem was solved and I will have to keep this in mind - thanks Art

Fun stuff. Diagnosing. Glad it wasn’t a crack and you ended up dealing with ordering a new part. The motor is spinning fast and vibrating the hell out of it. The fan blades on the back are for the motor itself. No doubt the blower side produces more than enough force to open that plastic a hair. Cheers

I'm glad it seems to have a simple solution. The leak is probably aggrevated by the bend in the hose increasing the pressure at the chip blower. I'll watch for that because I have two 90 degree elbows on the dust port on my planer and I don't plan to change that. The chips go straight down next to the outfeed table.

Art< I had the same problem, the fan shroud had a crack & hole where I couldn't see. Replaced the shroud and fan and solved 95% of the chip problems

Have you ever gone to replace the brushes and they were stuck. My planer tripped the breaker and sparks were coming out of the brushes. Went to replace them and they were so stuck I had to break them to get them out.

Just to add, my fan assembly was broken so no chips getting to my dust collector. I removed the broken fan, put it back together. Now I just have my dust collector connected and it works better than ever.

I've been using the DW735 for about 20 years now, and one thing I've noticed is that the unit ejects chips faster than just about ANY vacuum I've hooked it to. That includes a 3 hp unit. I finally connected it to a trash can with a 4" hose and a fabric shroud (DeWalt sells the complete kit), and it works like a champ.
I know that ANY restriction in outflow will cause sawdust leakage from the blower/shroud. Other than using silicon or taping the connection, there's not a whole lot you can do.
I don't think that the bend you put in the hose really had an effect on the planer, since I've been using the same bend on my unit.

Check out John Heisz's latest video as that is pretty much what he does (dedicated trash can). In my layout I don't think it would save me any floorspace so...

Also not sure if this is a factor cause I’m a year late to this video - you’re not supposed to run a dust collector with the blower active as well.

    • @Wordsnwood
      @Wordsnwood  7 месяцев назад

News to me... is that in the manual? There's no way to run this WITHOUT the blower active...

    • @thedavelam

@@Wordsnwood blower is alwasy active, just a separate dust collector cant handle the blower power.

Seems like this Planer needs RE Designed..........I keep reading about so many issues/ problems......Mine is brand new,,,,,and already will not crank up or down. I really can't afford ALL this down time..........Is there a better Planer built ???

You definitely have the wrong tidal on this video, should be called (....sawdust leak fix) I'm on my 3rd DW735 planer in 10 years. I'd buy a different brand but Dewalt is the only planer under $1000.00 that has it's own sawdust blower, I to have elbow right off my planer with flexible hose. Good video.

Fox couldn’t compete with Disney afternoon. That’s why fox lost viewership on Goosebumps in the 90s. It was competing with better shows.
You thinking people didn’t know what demographics were or what they were worth is just silly was based on your age.
You missed the real 80s or you’d never make that statement without laughing at the myopic nature of it.
