Thanks for the video. Gave me confidence to tackle mine. Did so just now successfully. Less than 5 min job. A little note to others trying this. The nut on the power socket may not release and twist the whole thing. Use a flathead screw driver to keep the inner part in position. Warning: careful not to push the screwdriver in too much as you may damage the contact pins.
THANK YOU. The instructions Convergent Design emailed out a few weeks ago were terrible and I nearly broke my 7Q+ trying to follow theirs. This video is perfect and you are awesome.
Thank you for the video! What happen when battery will die? it is just relate to the store date and time when device is powered off? Thank you in advance
I didn't apply new paste. I suppose that would be the proper way of doing it. But I haven't had any issues whatsoever after the reassembly and I had it run for hours since then.
Hey, sorry, without removing the screw on the power connector this is going to be near impossible. You have to see if you somehow can (carefully) remove the screw.
I had this exact same situation, and solved it by doing something pretty stupid. I plugged in the power connector, then used pliers to hold the power connector in place while using a small wrench to unscrew the nut around it. It took a little bit of fiddling, and I was taking as much care as possible to not damage the power connector in the plier. Dumb, but it worked! YMMV.
Just wanted to say thanks, while the original 7Q is just slightly different your video worked for me as well, and now my clock is set once again. Cheers.
I attempted this today, did everything as shown and now my 7Q+ won't power up at all.. I'm so gutted. I shiuld have just ignored the message. Could it be the battery I used? If it can't see a battery then it won't power up is what I'm hoping so I'll try and change back to the original battery and cross my fingers... 😢
I had a similar problem but if you go to the power socket and line the notch with your lead it should work. Use a flat head screwdriver but just twist at the top, don’t insert it fully to avoid damaging the pins.
@@Tony_BrookfieldMedia hey man what can I say! In the heat of me bricking it yesterday I didn't even think to look at the orientation of the notch in the power socket! That was it! All I did was Google an image of it showing the notch at 12 o clock. Turned it back (assuming it had turned when I tightened up the outer nut) and bingo, it powered up! Thank you so much for this! 🙏🙏🙏
I need assistance! I have a Q7 with SDI damage and believe I have identified the responsible resistors. To be certain and to determine the replacement parts I would need, it would be greatly appreciated if someone with a functioning device could measure the following resistors directly at the SDI outputs A and B: L602, R601, L601, R604, R603, R607. That would be great.
@@bobtronic73 As I mentioned, it's all about measuring the mentioned resistances so that I can determine which ones should be installed there. Is there anyone else who is currently changing their battery and can take a quick measurement?
@@RiderX424 I have by now found out that the components are not all resistors, and some of them cannot be measured easily. However, it would still be very helpful for me to learn the results of your measurements.

Hi, Ive replaced my battery but I still have the warning '''LOW CLOCK BATTERY. !''. And I can't set the date and the time. I've tried 4 different batteries from 2 brands. Still nothing. Someone have an idea?
Thank you for posting this! My hdmi input stopped working on my 7Q, curious if you have any experience with repairing this part, or could steer me to where others have posted about this? Much appreciated!
Hey, in general I find the 444 on the F3 a bit disappointing. It's fine and for some shots with intricate color detail it's worth it. It's not 12bit though so you can't push the footage as some other cameras. Nice videos on your channel btw.
@@bobtronic73 thank you! I do like strong color, as you might've seen. But I'll first see then how happy I am with the BM VA on the F3 I bought yesterday ;)
Since the question came up, battery is type CR2016

This is literally the only video on RUclips of someone opening the 7Q+. Thank you so much for your help.

Yes, it’s mostly about resetting time when powered off. Some recording options, such as raw, might require properly set time.
@@bobtronic73 thank you
Awesome! Just did the job. Wondering if you applied any more heat gunk on the little square thingy or left it as is?

Hi ! Nice video !
I can't remove the power connector... The screw thread is dead... Another way to change the battery ?

Oh no, sorry to hear about that. It’s a fairly easy procedure so I’m wondering what went wrong. Keeping fingers crossed that you get it to work.
