    You can also visually tell apart Hornet from her sisters easily due to being a bit different from her earlier sister in some places. Hornet has a different design in-game due to this reason.

    My great uncle was an airdale and plank owner on the Hornet
    There was planned to be a separate attack from China by B-24’s in support of the Doolittle Raid. See Robert Scott’s “God is my Copilot”. Also among those in that scrubbed mission was film maker (King Kong) and aviation hero Merian Cooper who became Chennault’s executive officer.

      I had to look up the terms airdale and plank owner, I wasn't familiar with them at first. But now that I know, that's pretty damn cool that your great uncle was aboard Hornet!
      Also I can't even begin to imagine how much different the Doolittle Raid would've been if they had additional support launched from China!

      @@TetravaultActual Thank you for your reply. We are very proud of what Billy Brooks did. He did get additional training in carrier night operations.
      You should look up the life of Merian C. Cooper who is considered one of the inspirations for Indiana Jones. He is one of the three Generals/Admirals of the Hollywood celebrities: Admiral John Ford, Brigadier General Jimmy Stewart and Brigadier General Merian Cooper.

      @@TetravaultActual Here’s a tidbit, his ancestor was with Pulaski when he died during the American Revolution on a battlefield in Georgia (USA) and promised that either he or a relative would fight for Polish independence. Merian completed that promise in the Polish -Bolshevik War and earned Poland’s highest military medal for doing so.

    Been waiting for this since I found and watched you’re previous videos. And I said it there and I’ll say it here, Yorktown is my favorite class of warship, of course the namesake sister is at the top of my list. Both in AL and IRL, but they’re all up there. Though unfortunately Hornet is at the bottom of the three, but that’s not cause I dislike anything about her, it’s just unfortunately someone has to take the bottom spot. But enough about my opinion of the Yorktown class sisters cause I could go for hours. But I’ll leave this comment by saying, that this is a great series and your videos are great, honestly too good of quality for the size of the channel (which is an amazing thing). Though I am just a random Yorktown simp on the Internet so take my possibly biased opinion as you will. But I still look forward to the future entries into this series.
    Also I haven’t watched the video yet, cause it is 6 am as of writing this. But I wanted to go ahead and say my piece. And if I remember to edit this I will when I actually watch the video.

      Biases or no, everyone has a favorite! It's hard for me to have a definitive favorite, there's just so many charming traits and interesting history behind the characters.

    • @bowserops2799
      @bowserops2799 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@TetravaultActualthat’s fair. It’s true Yorktown is my definitive favorite but I can’t think of a single ship in AL that I dislike. Sure there’s a ranking list they all stand on. But it’s mainly just cause someone has to sit at the bottom and by no means because I dislike them. The characters, all of them, are why I love Azur Lane. And it only further my love and passion behind Naval History.

    Man I'm so happy to be following the growth of this channel. Ever since I've found you with the "history in my gacha games" I've been loving all the videos you've been putting out. All of them absolute bangers, can't wait for you to get big.
    Also if I could slip a ship into your line up for videos, I would say I'd like to see Alabama at some point, or any of the South Dakota sister's. But considering Alabama's history might be really boring, totally won't hold it against you for not covering her. Getting good content for growth should be your priority.
