It truly does break my heart that Big E never became a museum ship. She deserved a better fate than what she received. With any luck, when we're capable of space-fairing warships, she well once again set sail, this time, on the cosmic seas.

Oh you KNOW the moment an interstellar vessel of any kind is functional, it'll get the name of Enterprise. It'd be a massively missed opportunity to make the fiction of Gene Roddenberry a reality.

My headcanon is that Enterprise doesn’t allow Essex to get close to her not out of hate, but out of fear instead.
Fear of her own failures. Essex looks up to Enterprise. Almost like a big sister.
But Enterprise couldn’t even save her own actual sisters. That would leave her a broken and cold character. It makes sense that she wouldn’t know how to integrate with all these new Essex class carriers. So she would probably keep her distance from them. At least emotionally.
And the only one that I can see Enterprise still being close with after the war is her close friend, USS Vestal.

    • @TetravaultActual
      @TetravaultActual  11 месяцев назад +6

I can see it being fear too, though it gets mistaken for hatred since Enty isn't really a "feelings" kind of person for the most part, not until you actually max out her affinity level.

Something I feel important to mention is that throughout the two names being in the navy (since 1800), Enterprise has taken the historical spotlight and Essex has been playing catch-up. The first Essex, while being a far larger ship than the Enterprise of the time (the first had been of the Continental navy), had her own fairly important actions in the War of 1812 overshadowed by Enterprise's decade-earlier actions in the first Barbary War. Then they had a period of 60 years without much overlap, until in the 1870s Essex became an Enterprise-class screw sloop. And next is obviously the incarnations we all know, CV-6 and 9, and past that is LHD-2- a relatively small helicopter/35B carrier of some 40,000 tons. while Enty gets CVNs 65 and 80.
sorry/you're welcome for the massive block of text, but yeah i could see enty being an idol or an object of jealousy for essex, and after all, seeing Enty as her big sister would make sense- because she used to be.

My headcannon is a little different. She does living quietly after the war. But instead anger, her feelings was more of longing for a well deserved rest. I mean, considering what she's been through, her job well done, and all the loved one she lost, she's done with the war. She literally had enough.
Partly because she felt guilty of being the only one to survive (losing all her sister, and even cousin). She doesn:t show it because she needs to be a strong character for her fellow USN ships, and all of US citizen at the time. She seemed cold, because it's simply part of her duty. I mean, without war, she'll only be second Yorktown class carrier, with the Lexington and her olser sister becaming the face of US navy.
Her feelings for Essex-class girls were pretty much in line with yours, but instead of "how dare she/they", it'll be much more buried and nuanced conflicted feelings such as "I don't know anymore... I hated them, but at the same time I don't."

My headcannon for Enty (and the rest of the AL shipgirls, for that matter) is of Ethan Forsythe's brilliantly written and drawn comic Akagi^2. Lots of historical references with juicy interactions. For anyone reading this, I highly recommend checking it out.
Love this series. They fill out a certain niche that compliments well with Drachinifel's coverage of each ship. I hope this is the start of many more to come.

I like to think every carrier since ww2 named after Enty is just another hull her soul jumps to. On top of that, each incarnation of her since ww2 carries a fragment of her soul. For example, the fragment of CVN-6 roams the pacific with her crew and her pilots( McClusky,Dusty,Best, ect)circling around the fog that surrounds the ghost(my name for her as of late) as she forces the sunk ijn ships relive their final moments alive as punishment for what they did to us, Pearl and to Arizona(my states battleship, the Missouri has them covered and currently keeps the darkness from ever reaching her or her sleeping crew). A dormant fragment sleeps within her name plate, waiting to be reunited with one of her hulls. The 3rd fragment patrols the Atlantic, making sure those dillweeds don't do what they did back in 2001 again. The 4th and main fragment is sitting in a beach chair near CVN-80s hull waiting for the day she can return to the never-ending war against the darkness that seeks to consume the light that she emits(as she is the light that cannot be extinguished). I pray to her also as a part of her is with my home city's ship LCS-19, USS St.Louis (part is in the form of a challenge coin the ships sponsor got from her father from his time in the service and is paired with another one from Essex) asking her to keep her safe and away from the fate the LCS type ships are facing currently. I think I've rambled enough now. Thanks for making this video it was a good boredom reliever, as were the other 2 on her sisters.
Side note: Enty never leaves my 1st fleet in game. I only make a fleet of her,York and Hornet with Ham in front on the days midway happened so the foxes and the 2nd CVDiv relive their grave mistake(it helps ease some of Ari's pain as well. I do a similar thing on Dec 7th only with those who died on that day. It helps them sleep better IMO)

Great series!!! Keep it up, it reminds of animarchy's azur lane docu series but more bite size
About the sunk ships in azur lane, it's implied most of the "sunk" ships are alive but heavily injured or has their wisdom cubes damaged, like Hood, Bismarck to the point of unable to summon their rigging, bedridden or worst in a comatose state, Yorktown was implied to be bedridden due to excessive damage to her wisdom cube during a siren attack in the parallel superimposition event and the type II rigging restored her back to full health same with Hornet and Northampton who where implied to unable to summon their rigging.
The only confirm dead character is Amagi for she sacrificed herself to save Kaga from being scrapped.

Yeah, I read up on the lore aspects of Yorktown II and Hornet II, but like I said, the official stuff is a bit boring. For the longest time it was implied (at least as I understood it) that they were originally deceased. Then the II versions showed up and somewhat retcon the implications.
Basically they pulled a Monty Python and the Holy Grail: "I got better!"

Not done with the video but I see people posting theirs so might as well:
My personal headcanon regarding Enterprise not becoming a museum ship is that she refuses to stop fighting, staying on the front lines in the hulls of CVN-65 and soon 80. This due to the simple fact restated throughout the anime- "War never changes." There will likely continue to be engagements of the USN, and she continues to work to defend freedom. I say you can see her bombing precision shining through even in Operation: Praying Mantis (1988) when she puts a bomb down a smokestack- after sinking an earlier frigate. Something random but fun is that the frigate she put a bomb down the smokestack of is somehow still in service today.
honestly prolly cause i just cant accept the real story of that because i mean COME ON WHAT THE HELL
they still do bring some of her parts onto the new ones just saying

Also, the scrappings of CV-6 and CVN-65 overlap with the buildings of CVN-65 and CVN-80, as the buildings of CV-10 and 12 overlap with the sinkings of CV-5 and 8.

We also got a lot more detail into now Type II riggings happen with Laffey recently, and besides, with Parellel Superimposition it was still the same facility imposing the Type II riggings over the same ships.
Something random but funny is that on the wiki it lists a line from Allen M. Sumner that I think they ret-conned where she thinks Laffey I is Laffey II. Going to go test in-game if it's real now.
      Edit: Still in the game!

One more thing supporting the idea that later ships with the same name can/should be the same girl- British battle honors are kept across ships by the name. For example, Glasgow has battle honors ranging from 1759 to 1982. Warspite has a battle honor dating back to 1596.

Supposedly the game devs are working on English voice lines, but that's been a lingering rumor for a few years now.

As someone who likes Essex, I don’t quite understand or justify your headcanon of Enty spiting her. I could see the name anger, but that’s not on Essex for the names. If anything, I think it would be best for Enty to admire the new warriors beside her with open arms. Essex is a dorky badass that deserves respect. I disagree with your ending rant due to that. Plus, it would cut deeper to Essex to know that her idol loathes her for something out her control. Poor gal needs confidence, because she has done great things that seem unnoticed.
Sorry for the tangent, I’m very passionate about Essex especially due to her flanderization via memes. That said, you think enty and Essex could get along?

I have a head cannon where she’s conflicted about teaching the Essex sisters how to fight as they could become like her because she fought long enough to have like been in a fleet with at least 6 I think so I think she be like that old grandpa that would teach you how to fight but don’t want you to become someone who holds in her emotions because of it Enterprise had to be strong while Essex has all her sisters to help her and encourage her and they didn’t see the time when they had to worry if they be damaged and left behind like hornet so I think at the end of the war Enterprise would be more angry at herself for not being strong enough to save everyone save Arizona save her sisters and Lexington and many others.

There are some historical accuracies to it. According to Barrett Tillman's book on Enterprise, when Essex had arrived at Pearl Harbor in 1943. Her crew said that they were the 'better E.' Enterprise's marines didn't take it well and started a bar fight with them. Until Essex's Air Group 9 CO and former Enty pilot Charles D Griffin broke it up. Later, Enterprise's Executive Officer Thomas Hamilton was determined that Enterprise was to carry the same number of aircraft as the larger carrier. But that required launching the first aircraft by catapult. Between that and her crew, Enterprise was not only able to keep up with Essex in terms of sorties. But exceed her at times as well.

My personal head Canon is that the ships can have kids because duh they have human bodies. Apparently one of thr Sakura empires skin recently (last year some time) that Sakura empire Kansen have "heat" meaning they have a functional female reproductive organs. Whos to say that in the simulation bullshit that they control the Kansen can have kids but because of Siren bs there barren save for whatever simulation they deem fit to experiment with.
Hence why I've been making fanfics where there simulation numbers are related to bible verses. My main simulation (P-91). Arizona was the first Kan-Sen of her simulation where she meets a young man one year after the end of the great war (not with the Sirens) out history plays out but the Kansen are treated differently by there respective nations. EU there navy Personal and US citizens obviously. Royal Navy are obviously ether Maids or part of the Royal family, Sakura empire because of there culture believe that there Kan-Son are children of thr Emperor himself and are even taught to refer to him as such, French...i mean there the French. Northern Parliament will DO THERE BEST to keep there Kan-Son under there control because thats how Commie dictatorships work. And Dragon empire well....they hate the Sakura empire so they put there civil war on hold for the moment.
Though Arizonas family we see the horrors of war and hiw far Vengeance can hurt people. Because ive also introduced the PCS riggings from the OpSi files. Meaning the battles are bloodier especially in the Pacific theater.
As for your head canons i can see her being spiteful of the US government not so much her younger sister Air craft carriers. Shed obvious be jaded and be closed off emotionally in her civilian life but that is until she finally falls in love with someone and has Little E and feelings like she needs to live up to her moms legacy joins the navy when asked and becomes CVN-65. With HER daughter taking the mantle of CVN80.
If anything shed tell her child and grandchild of her time in the war but jo other carriers. Because again spite against the Government. Because who doesn't realize that you just pissed off the number 1 fucking boat that helped kick the teeth in of the Sakura empire. Yea nice going US government maybe dont piss off the niech immortal super human who can kick your ass especially a bunch of pencil pushers whi didn't care about her ship
