This is the only band in Fiji who follows Fijian protocol in asking permission (sevusevu) or seeking blessings from landowners, who grant them permission to film their land and mountains..,, according to this song..,, 'i e dela vatuvatu"...(song of mountains) as mountains in Fiji have their own history and stories.. we do look up our own specific mountains with respect & pride.... ...with all due respect to other musical band and groups who had also done the shooting on this Table top mountain known as Vatutoko "please do know that this land is specificly owned" ...so sad to see most of this band just do what they want without being noticed by the landowners... I could say its an act of TRESPASSING.... Anyways thank you ROSILOA ... R. Rasila, F. Kado & the group, I still remember those days when you came to my village in Yavuna to do the sevusevu and started distributing some of your CDs, we had no electricity at that time and we were so desperate to hear that song 'i e dela' to our surprise you started to unload a small generator from your van just for us to listen to that CDs you distributed while sitting around the Tanoa.... Such a humble group of people..... From then BLACK ROSE band have always been in my heart till today ....hope to see you again ....and again we need BLACK ROSE back jammin and rock stages...
This song never gets old! They are speaking the western dialect of Fiji.. In the western Highlands of Fiji that's where tough warriors come from.. The Koi QWALI people of Navosa Highlands.. Some of them settled in Nadi and Nadroga.
@@hiipeople6833'wantok' is a term used by Melanesian people especially those in PNG, Solomon islands and Vanuatu to describe friends and other people of similar culture in the Pacific..
No other band in Fiji has accomplished what Blackrose has achieved from the Pacific to the Africa..Europe and so on.Their fusion to the music is totally different. They are very disciplined in the way they groom themselves.. That's why they still have the respect of many Fijian uptil now... This song was highly underrated in the Pacific because black rose have tons of fans and it didn't get the hype it deserved. I was a kid around this time but this song still bops hard
This Gem of a Track was originally penned by my brother Sailasa Cakau Tora who i have utmost Respect for his works and vision which brought us together back in 2000...I had been introduced to this extraordinary writer by a colleague who insisted i listen to Sailasa's first ever album..WASAWASA.. Fate brought us together and we have toured together ever since..all the way to Munich and beyond cause I felt this gentleman was given the recognition he rightly deserved..He is family to me..he has been my mentor and an inspiration..and a person i hold with very high Respect and admiration..Vinaka Vakalevu Buqu
Thank you for this commemoration, indeed this is one of our uncles ( Ta Lailai) Sailasa Tora, who is musically gifted, and of course, we always did, and will always do love, Black rose pieces of music and songs, as for this week the Fiji National University celebrating, the sustainability week program, and today 18th October 2022, here at Fnu Lautoka Teachers college, is our celebration day, and our chief guest Mr. Pene Nonu Baleinabuli who is the current Permanent Secretary of Forestry, highlighted, some of the precautionary measures, including replanting of trees every year, that their ministry , government, and various Fijian communities had work towards in sustaining our lush green tropical forest and preserving, conserving our marine biological ecosystem, and we are urged not only to conseverve and preserve our surrounding, but as an individual, human being, either, fijian, indians, Rotuman, we need to bridge the Gap,not only adopting western cultures, but as well preserve, and sustain our own individual culture, and identity, that has been slowly eroding due to westenisation, So Black Rose, you always made us proud, of the Vucu, and Music of Fijian and Ocenia Dance style your Group demonstrates, indeed our culture and its music still valued.

I love this song. It’s like a war chants for Fijian Warlords. If only black rose would articulate a song about the Female Rulers of the Burebasaga confederacy. Ro Lady Lala Mara and her younger sister Ro Teimumu. That would be great🙌👑.
