Sorry, I'm so new that I am attempting to start My very First Carve. When I start my machine the first thing that I do is to home the Machine ( One Finity Wood worker ) Machine Home. X=0, Y=0, Z=0. So I think at some point before that you you Start you need to probe for X, Y, and Z, so as to reference your work piece to the machine. In your video you set your safe Z to .2 and Home Z to .5. What I don't quite understand is the Machine seems to be referencing Zed from the Top of the Z axis Down in negatives, and it seems that Carveco Maker Plus references Zed from the Bottom up in positives. The Z Position from Home to the top of my Spoil board is Z = -4.644 My Z at the Top of my Work Piece is Z = - 3.935 . Is the Reference Point for Home Z the Spoil Board and the Reference for the Safe Z the top of the Work Piece? Are these Measurements some how rereferenced in the Post Processor so that the machine understands ? Sorry very Confused!

Hi William. On the Onefinity we always set z zero (physically, on the machine) on top of the workpiece. So the top of that is 0. Then in the software, when setting up the material, set you r "Material Z Zero" at the top and enter the thickness of the material. It doesnt matter if you are using Maker, Maker+ or Carveco, this is exactly the same. If you change to the bottom in "Material Z Zero" then you will need to add the material thickness on to the Safe Z and Home Z. I think that your problem is that you need to go to the top of you workpiece (Z-3.935) and then in the Onefinity controller set your Z at that point. I think it is the small gear cog icon in the Z row, once you select that it will ask to confirm if you want to set your Z origin, select yes. If you are still having problems, I would get in touch with our support team support@carveco.com as I cant post images which would be make it easier to understand.

@@Carveco Thank You for your timely response, I was leaning in that direction, however, I wasn't 100% on that. didn't want to break anything. Hopefully able to make my first cut today or tomorrow. I created a 2.5 d carving using Maker Plus of an old television test pattern.

Will you be adding the "Jenny series" of cutting tools to the Carveco tool database from Cadence Manufacturing & Design in the next update? They are a very popular CnC bits and One Infinity Cnc is stocking them. Thank you.

      That is a good idea.
I'd like to see the "Jenny" bits along with the bit carried by Skyone CNC added to the stock library of tools.
Until then you can always add the "Jenny" manually. It's just a compression bit.

@@ClintonCaraway-CNC You can get the Skyone library here Clinton - support.carveco.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360053048752-How-can-I-add-a-tool-library-to-the-Tool-Database-in-my-Carveco-software-
We will probably do the Jenny ones in a later update.

Leighton, I don't understand the warning about the park position being the start position. If I start at X/Y 0, the spindle will move forward/right +X,+Y to first cut position or is it relative position to +X,-Y?

Not quite sure I understand the question John. Everything comes from the origin point when you set up the model (normally bottom left or centre of the model), does that help?

@@Carveco That's better, it sounded vague warning about starting carve from Parked position. I'll play it again warning at 3:05 Restart job from "Parked" home position, not XY zero home position
