It was an honour to get the chance to play through Brian’s, Pete’s & Nigel’s guitars. Thank you for the opportunity! 12/6 did take a while to get my head around 😂 I think Pete’s was my favourite in terms of feel, sounded much brighter too compared to Brian’s Badger.
Hi Tim. Did the 12 string wiring go through phase switches also? Or just on or off. If Andrew only recommended 1 pickup on at a time the phase switching wouldnt be required.
@@spidey4fun There were 6 small toggle switches for the 12 String as well - It was a nightmare to get my head around in a short space of time - I need it for longer to understand it properly haha.
Hi Jon, I’ve recently stumbled and fallen down the Red Special Podcast rabbit hole and I’m absolutely loving it. Great Job! Yes, It’s consumed many hours of my Christmas holiday. lol! But there’s so much info I’m struggling to take it all in. I think I’ll need to watch them all again. I don’t want to take up too much time here, but if needed, is there anyway I could contact you more directly. I’m afraid I’m old school and don’t do much in the way of social media, sadly just RUclips and email. Anyway, keep up the good work! Cheers & Happy New Year Peter
YES YES YES FINALLY THE SPADE I was so excited to hear how this guitar sounds, I fell in love with it for about a year. It sounds awesome! I really would get one myself if I could
14:44 Back around the summer of 2023, I watched a pair of videos uploaded to the RUclips channel called the Trogly’s guitar show about an attempt to dissect an Epiphone EDS double neck into a pair of separate guitars that could function independently of each other and still attach back together again. Is it possible for Andrew to build a modular double neck in which both halves could be played independently or attached for the full ensemble? Even better would be if each neck was equipped with the same appointments as the Transporter guitar. There have been headless 12 string models (even if there can be no such thing as one with a vibrato arm).
Not when I am relegated to the possibility of selling off one of my solid body guitars in the prospect of purchasing a preowned BMG model,@@TheRedSpecialGuitarPodcast. If I actually worked for a living and was able to save my take, I can just imagine that I would be the one who financed such a creation.
Brilliant display of guitars. What did Andrew say about a second pickup on the 12 string being switched on? ruclips.net/video/Nj84DMLEuYE/видео.html Tim started playing.
@@TheRedSpecialGuitarPodcast I think I could hear a change in sound when Tim was flicking all the switches, so phase switches were wired up also even though it "doesn't sound that good" with more then one pickup on. I'll fit them in my build and try it myself.

I am 100% confident that he could! Anyone got some serious £££ so we can ask him to do it?

That scalloped guitar sounds much brighter!
It definitely had a different tone. Was it the scallops or the pickups?
I want Pete's Cherry 🤪
Ha ha

“It doesn’t make that much difference which pickup you use, as soon as you had a second pick up and it doesn’t sound that good”
@@DanThomasUK If that's the case I wonder if the 12 string wiring goes through the phase switching. Or they're just simply on or off.... Curious.
I think Dan answered you Brad?
