WOW! Wherever you are I hope you're OK! As much as I've studied buddy rich in all the drummers from Gene Krupa breakthrough today this was great! There's always something new to learn when you study buddy rich. The one thing I would love to see you do and if I get the chance to try it I will if you do what you're doing and just bring it way up higher and faster! Just amazing please come back! I used to practice the whip cream back 3 third grade in elementary school I think it was 1969! I also learned from watching Buddy a buzz roll where you get the tips of your drumsticks rotating around each other creating kind of like a old motion picture effect like a timing light like the sticks would appear to almost stop. But it could have been the dexedrine I was on. And in high school I worked at a nightclub in Ohio where Buddy Rich was kind of a regular act.
The snare is not angled towards Bill, it's angled AWAY from him.... Left to right at an angle. From about 8 o'clock to 2 o'clock.... It helps to facilitate the Traditional grip Bill uses.
This demonstration is the best way in my opinion to do a buzz roll, smooth as silk never heard better
great info on Buddy great drumming too!

Excellent
Well done. Thanks.
Great video. Thanks for the time.
I loved Ed's version of this roll!
No picture of Ed Shaughnessy?
There is no videos of Bill playing with a band . I can't find it .
Why is your snare angled towards you?
It's more comfortable for strictly Traditional grip players, buddy's was angled like that
The snare is not angled towards Bill, it's angled AWAY from him....

Just get on with the lesson. !!!
