I have been to both parks but am missing Xcelerator and Montezuma's revenge at Knott's and 5 rides including WWFOC at Magic Mountain! Both are great parks but I agree with you about the theming at Knott's.
I prefer thrills over theme so it's six flags for me. I have passes for both so I clearly enjoy both 🎢. If you compare special events ( Halloween and Christmas) Knott's wins both of those too.
As someone who has been to both and still hasnt rode ghost rider or twisted colossus (i seriously need to get into that) i can say knotts was a way better experience but as an adrenaline junkie i would rather go to six flags for being cheaper and having a stronger coaster lineup
The deep lineup that magic mountain has I would disagree. The eurofighter is already one of the best models in the industry, and the infinity coaster is basically just a bigger version of that. Hangtime beats viper, scream, and riddler's revenge, viper's way too rough, and trims hit to heavy, scream is also a bit rough, and floorless coasters are kinda gimmicky, and standup coasters just suck. And batman the ride clones aren't very good to be honest, while silver bullet is a criminally underrated invert. Xceletator and ghost rider are elite coasters and pack some of the biggest 1-2 punches in the world. Xcelerator also beats out full throttle and superman, and montezuma's revenge is the better schwarzgopf. Pony express isn't as good as west coast racers but it's still good. And apocalypse doesn't stand a chance against ghostrider. Magic mountain has no case for sierra sidewinder and knott's doesn't have any case for X2. Knott's focuses more on quality, magic mountain focuses in quantity. Knott's would definitely be better than magic mountain if it had even half of the space magic mountain has and it's Knott a coincidence (Hehe). Even before cedar fair bought knotts, the park was still amazing enough, knott's berry farm even inspired WALT DISNEY, which is crazy enough. I can keep going on and on but it would take forever.

Getting to LA next year in may. I have two days for theme parks and I'm not sure if I should rather go to Knott's instead of MM. (Disney Land is a must anyway) I mean Knott's looks really nice and comfy and the rides don't look bad either. But MM has some rides I'll probably never get to see anywhere else in the world, especially as a European.
Yea Disneyland is definitely a must. And since your from Europe I definetly recommend hitting up Magic mountain over Knotts. X2 is very unique and there’s nothing like Tatsu in Europe (maybe fly). All the coasters at Knotts you can find something similar. I hope you have a great time whatever way you choose!

I won't lie landscaping wise Magic Mountain wins, there's some legit amazing views you can get at certain points. But in terms of theming and atmosphere, Knott's definitely owns MM

As for Jet Stream, I have discovered something that might be seriously affecting my opinion. Let me explain: I only rode Jet Stream on one trip because every trip since was in the winter to avoid the lines. This is going to sound like BS, but I'm completely serious: I believe my rides were great only because it was severely malfunctioning that day. POVs I'm seeing are taking over a minute and a half between the end of the first drop and the start of the second one. On my rides, it was *LESS THAN 25 SECONDS.* I don't actually think there's a problem; if it was unsafe they'd close the ride. Plus, it's quite possible that MM just upgraded it recently to tear through it's course. So how about this: when malfunctioning severely, it's the world's greatest log flume! Now that's what I call a marketing tagline. (Also if it would do that more that would be fantastic 👍)

My one thing I criticize about the knotts log flume is it goes just a touch too fast through the dark ride elements. havent been to magic mountain but iv been to knotts and loved it but makes scenes only magic mountains coasters look better knotts looks better in everything eles i do think cedar points theming beats knotts though
I actually prefer Knott's coaster lineup to MM. Xcelerator's launch is like no other, Hangtime is one of my all time favorite coasters, Silver bullet 2nd invert, and Ghostrider is an elite agressive woodie. The only thing at MM I like over any of these is Twisted Collosus, and maybe Apocolypse. MM lineup is boring and uninspired, so Knott's everyday for me.
wonder woman is amazing and apocalypse is better than ghost rider but only because of banking. If ghost rider had modern banking especially at the end it would destroy it. Those No bank turns just kill me and aren't fun.

Six flags Magic Mountain is such an ugly trashy and dilapidated park. When I visited I had to pick between SF & Knotts, I definitely regret picking six flags for the bigger coaster lineup alone. Knotts seems like a world class experience, who cares about # of coasters in lineup.
