Drowned God Longplay Part 1/16

- Опубликовано: 12 авг 2008
- Synopsis:
The story behind Drowned God takes place under the notion that the human race was genetically engineered by god-like aliens that even guided us through history by nudging civilization forward with certain artifacts of power. Four of those artifacts (The Ark of the Covenant, The Philosopher's Stone, The Rod of Osiris and the Holy Grail) are now lost and they are the key to unlocking a series of mysteries that somehow tie up practically every conspiracy theory from the Knights Templar to the Illuminati. It is up to you now to gather these artifacts and solve the mysteries as you are sent through time and space from an alternate dimension reminiscent of earth. Игры
i'm here because of a nexpo comment
Lol same
Me too..hope he can make a video bout this one.
@@dankpepe2110 yeah it'd be interesting
@@stengrus6486 Me five. ^^; Never even heard of this game, I don't think. :p
StenGrus
Same same.
I bought this game a long time ago when it was still available in retail stores. The only places where you can currently get a copy are eBay and Amazon.
wow are you still alive???? please respond :)))
i knew this game way before nexpo
this game is extremely creepy considering the creator killed his wife in a murder-suicide
pin dongle did he?!
yes and also the pets too
That's the official story, anyway. I've read his sisters maintain there's more to it, so who knows.
game deserved a sequel, i wonder who owns the rights to this game now, any ideas? drowned god was such a messed up game that it really deserves a VR modern day sequel or follow up or tribute of some sort
Inquiries about the rights have been made in the past. Rockstar Games reportedly approach Mr Horse back in 2004 or 2005 about their making "Drowned God: Cult", but he declined given what a mess the original game ended up being. Pity there, as they might have made a decent go of it.
Beautiful and creepy. Play it with headphones in the dark for best effect. Puzzles can be pretty tough. Take copious notes as well as screen shots with your phone or camera, they will come in handy later. Well worth the effort. It sat untouched for a long time in its box before I finally played it about 10 years ago on an XP laptop. Still have it and might revisit it again :)
I loved the soundtrack to that game, it was hard but after a certain time I was able to extract the music from it.
You should upload the music.
Upload it, can’t find any other works by miasma
@@psychoticgiraffe The funny thing is, I was also obsessed with this game and all the backstory around it, and even painstakingly got it to work/played through it.
at the same time, I was obsessed with an album (this is what you should listen to) by a mysterious artist called Miasma, who seemingly is a guy called Will Joss. The album is called Miasma 1195, (with the album cover being a dark orange wolf ) .
That's the only other real release by Miasma, and my god, it is wonderful and incredibly an incredibly sophisticated blend of dark ambient dub, driving post-rock and with some very mysterious samples. Occasionally there's also a vocalist, very good voice and ultimately this is one of the albums I'm most obsessed with.
Some utter beauty in that music, and some utter evil darkness.
But I had absolutely no clue at all that they were both connected like this, Will Joss is a genius who can work wonders with music. Yet he barely seems to exist at all, as far as google is concerned. I don't think he's made anything at all since the 90s, and I have yet to see a picture of him. Very cool.
god this aesthetic i can't stop coming back
Huh. 2020 sure is giving me weird recommends
This is the 10th time I watch the whole thing. Such a beautiful soundtrack
Ah, if only the sequel had been given a chance, we might've found out what was in the fourth world. Of course the game was originally supposed to be narrated by William S Burroughs, have nine separate game paths, and start with the Bermuda Triangle island. That we ended up with this bizarre if beautiful and suggestive trip, well, there are worse ways to spend time, right?
Thank you Nexpo for your video !
I commented a while ago, but I do find this game...interesting. I like the surrealistic visuals and the voice acting and narration seems really good. Also, conspiracy imagery and such interests me, even if I consider myself a skeptic.
Spoilers, but those saying that the clue for the Hermit puzzle is wrong are incorrect. The values for wind and thunder are sliders with 5 positions each, and the important clue is that thunder = 0. If the first position on the slider is 0, then the values are 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4. Wind = 4 means the correct position is the rightmost one on the slider.
my god...i remember when i was young and my computer was shit, so the only games i could play were ones like this one, which i got from the library. what a fucked up time...i played these games, though rarely do i think i really got what was going on or actually figured out the puzzles...walkthroughs all the way...i just remember really wanting to play this game cuz of its M rating, though i don't think i ever got to that part...shit, shivers, lighthouse, obsidian, this one...yep
So much weirdness went on in these games and you fairly got a clue of what to do. I played the demo and it looked promising (you were in a trailer, an alien scared you and you had to beat the computer in mill or something). That looked more realistic and less tripy-fantasy stuff.
Definitely interesting in a really weird way. I wouldn't mind finding a copy of this.
I got this is EB Games when it came out years ago in its giant box. this game was cool in the dark
Just like others Nexpo brought this to my attention.
I'm too deep into this rabbit hole now. Nexpo didn't go as far as I'd hoped so I'm doing my own investigation.
You and me both! Nexpo should have done a dive into the game instead of the terrible and sad backstory of the Harry Horse!
probably one of the creepiest games ever made and there were probably never anything like it produced again, the whole thing would leave you with a feeling of hopelessness for mankind
It's pure unfiltered mental illness expressed in a game.
The Dev was mentally ill and evil.
That's why he just decided to kill his whole family and himself as if it meant nothing.
Fuck that guy
I wonder if Sseth will ever review this masterpiece!
i feel proud in saying im not here from nexpo
But you know about soo.... Not buying it lol
These are all dreams you’ve had before. They’re just pictures. Relax.
👼
anyone here after the nexpo video?
Mee
This game was such a mystery, its but a fog of memory because of its complexity. Well, perhaps not one of the biggest brain twisters out there, but being young and of little skill with the english language, i didn't understand jack shit, just wandered around. But still, its some kind of nostalgia looking at this game again..
How did you figure out that chair puzzle with the maze?
Did I somehow end up watching one of the earliest let's plays?
Yup
Anyone else here from latest nexpo video??
Yep
yea
"Di sotto in sù" is the REAL secret of the drowned god.
Thats above so below
4:26 This one sounds exactly like the Architect from Ghostrunner :OOOOOOO
I'm here because of the Nexpo video
The game was available on steam for a short while, but now its gone. :/
Hey, another fan of that particular game. Cool! Drowned God isn't perfect, it's buggy, and even commits a cardinal sin of MYST style games, namely one of the clues for the one of the puzzles being actually wrong, but still, this game has long had a special place in my heart.
It gets the atmosphere right. Playing this game almost gives the feeling of, for lack of better words, a "mystical experience."
And has been pointed out by others elsewhere, the narration is practically ear candy.
thanks nexpo
What were we if our souls have lived before?
Trust too deeply and you will know the wickedness in mens hearts, as above so below
What the fuck do you call this genre.... I fucking love shit like this
this games super cool but i haven't figured out how to play it on my computer
I feel like HE is talking to ME.
Creepy Gaming brought me here
Me too.
Who's here in 2022
I had this game for a week. Then my dog at the time ate the box...with the CD-ROM.
Never finished it.
Watch the walkthroughs. Its nutty, but worth it.
In... Din, I think it was. The puzzle where the stock ticker spits out a strip of paper showing various settings for the machine that you have to use. One of those settings is actually the wrong one. The only way to get the right answer is to just guess and check or to check a walk through, afaik.
+Psy Kosh: that was one of the *many* bugs that doomed the game from the outset. Alas.
@@YankeePendragon i’m sure they’ll see this
the title even more creepy
where can i get that game
Interesting
@RabidWaffles If you haven't find this one yet. I have it.
Which puzzle has an incorrect clue?
Go check its Wikipedia page. Has a ton of great info now.
Wow
S/O to Nexpo for making me check this game out for myself.
Doesn’t this game have multiple endings?
yeah this channels got other vids with them
WHY IS THE SCREEN CHOPPED!? FKN FEDS
Can one manage to run this game on Windows 7?
+Karragh If it's 32-bit, the game should work. If you have a 64-bit version, then you need a "virtual machine."
The Chameleons brought me here
X2
X3
how to I get this game???
Ebay. There's no clarity about who owns the rights to the game anymore, never mind where the actual source code resides, so its unlikely to ever be offered on Steam or GOG.
Hello everyone
amazon for 14 pounds or something
the opening-door sound is a freaking copy of The Elder Scrolls: Arena, this sucks.
many games from this era reused the same sound effects
Yep lotta Nexpo people here!!! hahah NICE!
Seems cool even though the symbology is used by the corrupt. As above so below.
The creator of this game killed his wife and himself that's what they say I think it was ritualistic sacrifice
Hope you see this your comment Is 12 years old you probably won't lol
@Jack Francis lol
is this ARG?
why would this be an ARG the game is over 2 decades old
@@classicpinball9873 didn't know that thanks for telling me
Just a point and click game
I don't understand any of it
It doesn't have any meaning.
The dev was mentally ill.
@@BumboLooks it does seem to have meaning. Are you sure?
@@godisreal2537 Oh my F'ing god. Could you please use your own brain for once?
Just once?
Once in your life???
Could you please try that?
I played the demo of this game a couple of years back and it looked promising. But in the end the final game is always too much talk and everything is so abstract. I don't like these newer adventure games, they are confusing as hell.
newer advernture games???
dude, this thing's from 1996...
@@martinszymanski2607 By newer I meant compared to Monkey Island, Zak McKraken, Maniac Mansion, Leisure Suit Larry, etc.
Yeah yeah conspiracy theories this and nexpo that but why is nobody talking about the speedrun potential this game has. What about rebooting it and giving it to the boys at ubisoft, put the ol' assassin's creed twist on it.
I need to be stopped.
This is some seriously redpilled imagery and subliminal messaging, long before that kind of shit was common knowledge on the internet.. This game creator was a part of something or knew something and that probably had something to do with him going way off the deep end
Yes, and now Q has distorted the truth with its lies. They are the Great Deceiver - the betrayer...but they will be betrayed. The wheel turns...
Oh give me a break lol
