They all are corrupt ministers so useless for us. This highway from Kohima is lifeline to many districts Mokokchung, zunebhoto, wokha, Tuensang, Tseminyu districs. From Dimapur it's lifeline to Mokokchung and Tuensang BUT all these highways are not roads but rivers. 😢😤😡

I recall this terrifying incident where i was travelling in one of the Sumos from Tuensang to Kohima and the Sumo driver got drunk in one of those places where they usually stops all the sumo cars unanimously and from then on he was literally so drunk that he was almost shutting down his eyes. I was in the front seat and i could sense something was not normal in his driving and that's when i noticed him sweating, bowing down his head, almost closing his eyes. I was terrified and when i looked back, all the passengers were dozing and sleeping and i had to do something. I started asking him random questions so that he will stay awake and keep his eyes on the road. This experience is really haunting especially after hearing about this terrible accident.
Imagine dying while going to attend a funeral. Such a tragic incident. Life is so precious we can't take it for granted, you can be gone in any second. Rip to the victims.
I feel the horror the lady had to go through before she passed away begging for help. Its a fact the ministers own lots of SUV cars and big bungalows and lands whereas they cannot afford to buy a recovery van nor provide an ambulance for a District. Where are all the money meant for development? Alas.. Everything is corrupted in the whole system of governing. They are ministers just by namesake, who want to fill their bank accounts to the brim.

A long time back, in that area lots of lives were lost 😢from NST bus accident on the way to Tuensang from Kohima.
As a child I watched the coffins that arrived in Tuensang town .
That area is accident prone.. kindly drive safe .
I hope and pray govt take immediate measures to tackle this .

Almost all the sumo services in Nagaland drive beyond the speed limit. Most importantly majority of the driver drives with alcohol influence. I travel by sumo whenever I go on vacation, and I have experienced a few incidences.
But yesterday's incident, I dont think he'll drink at 4am n drive

Very shocking , so horrific accident , so unfortunate that a prescious life could not be saved due to lack of facility , as this area is an Accident Prone Area , the State Govt. should provide the required facilities , also the Police should check every vehicle , drivers documents , check them whether the drivers are under alcohol influence , if they are drunk , should be detained in police custody , so that some how accident shall be avoided , Govt. should provide sufficient fund for all the victims and families , Govt. should also appoint family members of those genuine Govt. Servants who expired in this unfortunate incident , we are a Christian State 🙏🙏🙏

The role of documents here in this news item is the vehicle needs to be capable passing fitness of the vehicle to commute and all formalities which provides the document of ability to be driven. When the vehicle doesn't have any proper paperwork, it indicates the vehicle is not fit to ply on the road. I guess that's what the reporter meant.

Legal driving age limit for comercial n public transportation must b atleast 25 years of age . The person driving should also have minimum 2 to 3 years of experience.
Being close proximity to state capital. Tseyimnyu shouldn't lack any facilities . High time Cm should highly focus for basic infrastructure and emergency facilities in every district just like kohima and chumu.

Maybe recovery vehicles weren't there so that's Govt fault but the accident wasn't government's fault. Atleast be it small amount or less. Anyone should accept it gratefully. Learn the differences and don't always complain. Accident toh govt laga galti ase neki.
Atleast safety iron bars n rods should be provided at road edges like in other hilly areas, atleast it could prevent somehow this type of accidents in Nagaland.

News reporter should have understanding power but he isn't. He keeps on saying one lady died because of lack of facilities in hospital. And that she didn't get proper treatment so she died. But according to my knowledge after hearing from the people that help her out, I'm sure she died because recovery team didn't reach on time, they came after two(2) hours.

Really saddened by yesterday's news,my condolences to all the deceased family and loved ones. Not saying yesterday's deceased driver drank and drive but there are lot of drivers driving taxi in nagaland drink and drive, this should be stop at the earliest. A new law should be made where the licence of the particular ticket counters get cancelled concerning with drink and drive accident incidents . So that a kind of system is created where the ticket counter checks the status of a particular driver and allow only those that are responsible of carrying out the task before randomly giving out tickets to the public. Accidents occurs and happens but drinking and driving is one main reason why we hear news of accident on daily basis. Taxi drivers that are drinking and driving should know that no public pays money to take them to their death, i advice you to please be more considerate because it is with that money you are living and looking after family members, without passengers your business also ends.

Some check gate for alcohol testing should be ter for drivers,so that f alcohol s found during driving,then they should not be allowed to drive,and it seems like impossible,but atleast it will be minimise , and might save some precious life,both the driver and passengers.

And to this old men and journalist talking about car insurance and car document is very unfortunate. Yes it's important but it has nothing to do with documents and accident. The taxi documents and the incident is not related. What is to do with the documents. Even if there is documents or not, it is the duty of the drivers to check the FOL, the break, the cables and other basic parts. The vehicle should be in good condition and should be road worthy. The documents is nothing to do with the road worthy check. Moreover, I don't think that the sumo was over speeding and hit the truck. If it was so, the truck will not fall below the road along with the taxi. Seems like the truck was over speeding which hit the taxi and force the taxi along below the road. The question here is, how did it happened so that it can be prevented in future. It is not a mechanical failure of the truck. If a heavy vehicle is loaded and the speed is more the 20 km per hour, the speed can't be controlled in short distance, we have to apply the break from more the 100 feet. I think that is how it happens. So sad for the lost of precious life.

Very True.. Govt should provide basic equipments and first aid training to every villages situated near the National Highway to tackle this type of incident during an emergency. God forbid, accident like this can happen again, we never know. It takes time for the rescue team to reach the spot. Until then villagers can atleast help the victims with whatever they can..
And regarding the speeding, maybe our State Government can Lock the speed of every commercial passenger vehicles like Taxi/buses at 70kmph for passenger vehicles that passes through Assam National Highway e.g Khm to Mon Dmp-Mon and 60kmph for them who passes through the hilly interior of Nagaland.. e.g Dmp-kiphire, Khm-Mkg. and daily checking should be done in every District border by the Police so that no drivers or owners can temper the lock.
