When I do these lessons I've been finding that my fingers play the right notes before you say what the next shape is but, consciously, my head doesn't know why...or what the actual notes are (without taking a second to stop and figure it out). Am i getting anything outta the lesson if i dont go thru and memorize each note? Thanks for the video.
I love the video, will be looking at your Patreon or something beyond RUclips w you soon. I have a hard time making arpeggios sound musical, is this common?
Thanks for the kind words and support. The best way to start making arpeggios more musical is to work them through chord progressions. For each chord play the corresponding arpeggio. As you get good you should be able to hear the progression just by playing through the arpeggios, without any kind of backing track.
this is helpful, thank you! what kind of picks do you like to use for these exercises that reach high tempos? sorry if you've answered this before, i'm new to your channel 😁
There are lots of different shapes to explore. This one comes directly from the major scale pattern I start with. I just flattened the necessary intervals and then I’m at dorian 🙏🏻

Thanks and welcome! I like to use the Dunlop Jazz III with the pointy end. My favourites are the Ultex Jazz III 🙏🏻
