Eric, you are a master of explaining these arcane medical issues to a wide audience. Thanks so much.
Have you thought about taking this conversation deeper with issues such as 1) procedural conflicts between specialists (e.g. vascular procedures between vascular surgeons and cardiologists and interventional radiologists); 2) emergence of point-of-care ultrasound and how radiologists are fighting it (and perhaps AI and radiology and pathology in the future); and 3) evidence of effectiveness of hospital medical, staff peer review?
    Keep up the great work,
    Joanne Roberts, MD

Great compilation both general and specific information on subspecialties and examples of diseases treated. As a pharmacist, I knew most from experience but definitely picked up some specifics about provider training for each subspecialty. Very helpful, thank you!

    Thanks for the video.
Would add just a key procedure-based ones (but not MD/DO degrees) that health plans would be exposed to.
    Podiatry (DPM)
Oral Maxillofacial Surgery (DMD, or DMD/MD)
Dentist (DMD) is usually a separate plan benefit

Thanks for the very informative video. Where would Chiropractors and Massage Therapists fall under? PM&R? Or maybe under a couple of specialties at the same time, like PM&R, Neurology, and Orthopedics?

Where does the one-year internship fit in? Is it part of the four years of medical school or is it a separate year between medical school and the residency?
