Templeton, Sr. "Business of Music" Collection.
    Dave Majchrzak began his professional music career on the St. Louis Riverfront excursion boats at the age of 16. Majchrzak left Missouri to practice veterinary medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana, but soon returned to the St. Louis Riverfront and his spot in the Don Scherrer Banjo Bands. In that role, he has performed at every VP Up the River from New Orleans to Davenport SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24 Fair on the St. Louis Riverfront and continues to perform on the excursion boats. He currently performs with the Stompers in St. Louis, as well as at national festivals from Florida to California. Majchrzak has appeared at the festival in Sedalia for many years and was named the 2007 Artist in Residence for the Scott Joplin Ragtime Foundation. Majchrzak has been named the Artistic Director for both the Chippewa Valley Ragtime Festival and the prestigious Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival.
