Drummer hearing Holden saying "bunch of blade boys humping shank" on a monitor when talking to Miller was a turning point for her to start believing that something real is going on. That's a pure belter saying that Holden wouldn't normally use, and she believed he didn't know what the hell he was saying. What a ride. Thanks for taking us through this season.

Don't know if someone mentioned this yet -but there is a youtube channel called Ty and That Guy , with Ty Franck (one of the authors) and Wes Chatham (Amos) they started in Season 5, so I would recommend not watching it until you hit season 5. They go through all of the episodes starting with S5, then they jump to S1. Very very interesting from a film making and acting POV.
Also, enjoying your reactions - you actually pay attention!

They're going back to the Sol system; our system. I assume, though it's not really said in the show or in the book (iirc), that unmanned probes would be sent into the gate and into the 1,300 other gates to see what's there.
But a thing to think about. 1,300 systems with habitable worlds. That was Holden's comment here. How does that affect Earth, Mars and the Belt?
I don't know if you're further along, but if not, maybe try and come up with theories. How did the outside world finding the Americas change the rest of the world for example? This is a far bigger discovery. How does that change people in our three large factions.

I was awestruck by this finale when I first saw it. All the mysteries and history of the Ring Space, and at the end of our journey, we find 1,300 new solar systems.
Suddenly, Humanity has the potential to become a Galaxy-spanning civilisation. What could go wrong?

FYI, all the shops headed back to the original solar system. They needed to return home, and didn’t have enough supplies to go exploring new systems. Things will become clearer in future seasons.

Bobby Chill! Great reaction my man! Love your theories as always!
This episode was so ramped up! Ss The Expanse always does, it leaves us with so many questions!
Things to consider! Between Eros Protomolicule Julie and Protomolicule Katoa, it always said " Cant stop the work!" The Protomolicule was sent here eons ago to build this portal. As Holden said " it was building a road. The Protomolicule is a tool from another civilization. It's been trying to report back to it's creators but no ones home! The ring was a doorway to the ring station, kind of a waiting room. The nucleus at the center would not allow access to the orher rings until who ever woke it up be perceived as not being a threat. Its kind of running on automation.
You notice every time Holden passes through the barrier of the ring he sees " something?"
Extremely enjoying your journey my man!
    Looking forward to season four!

This episode concludes book 3. Book three was highly condensed into a half season (at some cost of characterization, particularly with Melba/Clarissa Mao). From now on, each season will coinside with a full book. Remember that this was written to be a series finale, so there are a couple of tiny retcons that had to be made when they went into the unexpected fourth season after Jeff Bozos bought the series.
This demonstrates how much Camina cares for Naomi, that she'd do this for Naomi's cause with very little evidence.
Notice that Melba/Clarissa reversed the power packs to shut down the system...the very thing Ren had warned her not to do.
You mentioned Amos having demons. Have you noticed the little demon badge he always wears? That's a Japanese Oni demon. The tradition of the Oni is that if you wear the face of the demon, it keeps the demon away from you. So, Amos wears the Oni to ward off his demons.
The Roci returned through the Sol gate to the Solar System. But you notice _something_ rushing toward him as they went through. We don't know what that _something_ was. He had been unconscious when he went through the gate the first time.
Proto-Miller cannot control the Ring Sphere. They are two different Protomolecule devices, and although they can communicate, they have different purposes. The Sphere controls the Ring Gates and is also the guardian of the Ring Space. Proto-Miller, however, is part of the Ring Building device that was sent to the Solar System. The mission of that device was to build the Ring to the Ring Space, and then report its job done to its builders. The builders are all dead, though, so Proto-Miller is still following the program to find and contact the builders. Holden said that their were 1300 Rings to _habitable_ planets. Because the Protomolecule builders were looking for Earth-like planets, it's safe to assume that they themselves were comfortable on Earth-like planets. That doesn't mean they were humanoid...there are millions of non-humanoid species that are happy on Earth.
    No spoiler: Diogo is done.
I would rate this as the best season _only_ because there are two book finales in the season. All the book finales are top-notch, so because this season was a two-fer, it's the best.

Im glad you're enjoying this show. I read the books after I saw episode 1 of season 1. Both amazing, the show is a truly BEAUTIFUL adaptation. I really hope we get the final 3 books adapted some day.

well... the Ilus arc is kinda weak, the free navy arc is really strong, and I wish they would at least adapt the laconia arc from the books, but I kinda didn't much care for the last book.

So glad to finally get you to this episode!! Its a fantastic one and this almost was the end of the entire show!!! (Screaming Firehawks banded together and got Amazon to pick up the show at just about the time E8 aired in 2108!) So regarding Gunny fighting with the female Martian marine: Ty likes to point out that in general Bobbie would destroy almost any other opponent pretty quickly but this one took longer as the female Marine was also well trained. You were very sharp to point out that she pulled her gun and shot Bobbie just as Bobbie knocked her out with a kick. I didn't see that for quite a few views of the episode! Diogo: That scene in the elevator plays out differently in the books, so this episode when first seen had me screaming at my TV expecting a different ending!! That is one way the writers keep us book readers on our toes, by changing things up a bit! You were also right to point out that the water Holden is standing next to looks like the water Bobbie went to visit in Season 2. It was also Lake Ontario!! but now depicted or inferred that he is on an alien planet looking at a very nearby ring! The scene with Miller also makes me wonder if that was added after the was picked up: "gonna need a ride"! (not needed if that is the true end of the series!). I hope you enjoy S4 as a kind of reset button and some of your expectations will definitely be met (just can't say which ones!!).

There are 9 novels plus a bunch of novellas. And book 9 finishes the story, and, IMHO, nails the ending. Just so good. Season 6 ends the show, so we don't get the final trilogy in the show...yet 😁

Ashford. Klas Ashford. Holden calls it a graveyard because it's a dead civilization that got wiped out. Much like you can walk through places like Chernobyl and get that feeling. Welcome to THE EXPANSE. This was the finish of Book 3. From when the Ring established itself it's a rush to the end. Holden sees or gets a sense of something whenever he passes through the Ring due to Miller's meddling.
The show was cancelled by SyFy at the end of season 3 and there was a push for the show to be saved by the Screaming Firehawks. Amazon picked it up with Season 4,5 and 6. IMO, there's a really different feeling to the show. I mean, there had to be, will all the events that occurred. To me, Season 4 feels something like, what a longer Star Trek story could be like.
Looking forward to you continuing the journey.

hmm I read somewhere it was cas anvar himself who pitched it to amazon, which would be kinda sad given the circumstances, but I dont wanna spoil.
s04 = Ilus arc right? a bit slow maybe?
btw it's cool that they gave klas ashford an upgrade in the show, in the books he was more one dimensional.

The Rings lead to 1,300 star systems, most of them with habitable worlds.
The Investigator (Miller) wants Holden to give him a ride to figure out who or what killed off the Builders, the ancient race that made the Protomolecule as a tool to build among other times, the Gate network. Because, even though this happened a billion or more years ago, there is a chance that the threat that Builders burnt who systems to stop, might still be word..

yeh, he got a big role in a crappy adaptation of a good book series. so sad they failed at adapting it. anything other than the emperor arc was lame, and the emperor arc isn't even part of the book series lol.
but then again it doesn't much matter, afaik dawes only had a minute role in the free navy arc, didn't he?
btw I think foundation was later, he picked up a role in the terror during the expanse and chernobyl after the expanse.
