There have been numerous people on the show over the years who didn't have much of funny side and have clearly been annoyed/ didn't like some of the others. Just because it is a comedy show doesn't mean everyone on it could take a joke(s).
I’ve always enjoyed his appearances on QI. He used to throw Stephen off his game (in a funny way) and has an incredible rapport with Sandi. Perfect QI for me would have Phill Jupitus, David Mitchell and Sue Perkins (or Susan Calman).
I think when you have people like Sarah Greene and Jason Donovan who seem like perfectly lovely people but aren’t comedians and or known for being funny the format doesn’t really work as well. They just come cross a bit bland and the people who are comedians have far less decent banter to work with.
