I just turned 18 a few weeks ago so I’ve been getting really sentimental thinking “wow, my childhood is over”. Because of that I’m starting to appreciate things that made my childhood and one of those was BeamNG, I got the 1st or 2nd tech demo on my family’s old Windows XP computer back in like 2013-2014, then pirated the game (I was like 10 don’t blame me) and then officially bought it a few years later. This game has come a long way, and I'm happy to be a part of it. So thank you, BeamNG, for giving me some awesome memories that I'll never forget ☺
Lol. When I first started on beam (I started in 0.28.0 back in the good old covid 2021) I had an old bronze ASUS work computer with a cooler underneath it. The max I could handle was 9 cars spawned in with about 65 - 70 mods in the in-game repository (I would get attacked if i was at 80)...Now I have a small gaming pc with 16gb of Ram and can handle way more than 9 cars (approx. 20). I can also have about 100 mods with my small pre-built pc, any more mods and red warnings will start flooding the right top corner of my screen.
Even if it looks basically the exact same, drives the same, and have the same engine configurations (in the non turbo models anyways) the old bolide will always be in my heart. not only for the nostalgia, but because you could tellyl the devs really had no idea how a supercar is made. The single cell fuel tank, which is placed above the transmission, right behind the engine, in the EASIEST PLACE TO HIT IN A COLLISION. The chassis which is way to production car like for a 1980s supercar, but most importantly the bolt on fender flares, which made absolutely no sense but they kept for literally 7 for whatever reason.
I remember when I was like 10 and watched youtube videos on beamng all day because I had nothing to play on, but now that i've had it for a year or two its become one of my favorite games.
I don’t remember exactly when I started playing but it was before the repository was added. Funnily enough I could run almost every map fine except for the flat featureless grid map
Something about the old graphics, the old UI, the old crash sounds just brings back so many memories. For a game that is 10 yrs old, it still receives awesome updates now and then. This just shows how far beamng has came when it all originally started with the d series early in 2012 or 2013.

I remember when my dad bought me the game for my 5th birthday in 2013, i am still playing it over ten years later. it is crazy to see how far the game has come!
First one I played was 0.6.1.0. If the pirated version hours i spent on it counted (I bought the game already though), I would have thrice as much playtime as I have on steam right now. It was and still is my favorite game. I remember when they changed the glass to be quieter and I got sad haha I also remember eating cereal while driving around on the old Utah and finding a gap in the map, which I fell into and got scared because I'm scared of the void (if that makes sense? Like looking up at the stars at night is also scary for me). Old engine sounds are so nostalgic, but what's more nostalgic to me is the old UI. I also remember when they added the garage, or perhaps I got less blind and finally noticed it - I went into the map and somehow broke it and drove out. There were other garages - or houses, I don't remember - and they were very non-detailed. Oh, and there's something so beautiful about the old graphics... Sure, they're bad compared to what we have now, but... I miss them... Remember driving around on dry rock island in a drag Barstow, and somehow crashing it into a tree in a way that made the front subframe disconnect. I also remember my favorite car - the SBR4! Damn, this is so nostalgic... Those were the times. I wish I could ever be as happy again.

Thankfully, when it was first released prior to steam, i was able to run it just fine. Was in my early/mid 20s and had a damn good rig. I remember that og bollide being virtually impossible to accelerate with a keyboard. Prior to beamng, my crash physics fascination was fueled by driver, driver 2 and driv3r. I tried a little rigs of rods, was a physics based crash game in which its developers went on to make beamng, but was fairly rusty. I figured by now that the physics in BeamNG would be more widespread, seems that it's still restricted to this one game. Since the developers haven't given up and have been releasing updates and new content for many years I am more than happy. Man it’s wild seeing people get nostalgic about *this* version of beamng. I remember before mods were even added to the game, when there were only a few maps, when they first added the vegetation and off-roading sections into grid map. i have been watching this game grow ever since every single car had the same engine sound but i have only been able to buy it recently due to computer issues this video definitely brought me back to the old days very nostalgic
my first version was 0.24 but i actually played the tech demo before i played it on steam and also that v6 sound is so good that they should bring it back
I first got Beamng after years of dreaming of it when I got my first good laptop on Christmas in 2019.. I’m pretty sure it was just a little but after East coast usa got remastered and it was the first map I loaded up. I’ve still never gotten bored of Beamng and I now have 4500 hours on it
i started playing around 2016, Utah U.S.A was the first update i remember being exited for. so obviously my favorite thing to do right after Utah gets released was to pile cars on sadler gourge, a modded map with a simulated bridge, untill the bridge would give out.
I wonder if there’s a mod to bring back the old engine sounds because that pessima v6 noise is miles nicer than the new one. I remember when every car had a generic v8 sound lol it was so strange driving a covet hearing a v8
I remember discovering the game at the age of 9 or something like that, and playing it hacked on my father old windows 7 4gb of ram laptop, it was a really old version, now im here playing the real 0.31 beamngdrive with a 800$ PC.
The No texture on the numberplates before they get their texture is very nostalic. I bought the game in early 2017 before they had the AUD priced store, but I'm definitly not missing that. I started playong on 0.8, the hopper came out in 0.9
The version after this, 0.15 was when I finally got beam, my PC could barealy handle Italy and it took ages to load. The other weren´t running much better so I was basically stuck to gridmap where I still had like 20fps at best. I miss theses times
i remember ybrs grand canyon video when it first came out, I was so mesmerized. told my dad I would stop destroying hotwheels forever if he bought me this game lol. think I started on 0.8 and played so much on my moms old laptop at like 15fps. i liked the game so much I didn't even notice. its really crazy its been almost 8 years and the game still hasn't lost it touch
i was first playing beamng when i was 3 years! Its bc my dad was showing me it, i actually didnt understood it well, but i remember we was with that old student covet drifting around old gridmap... aaahhh, that nostalgia!
so for me about 8-9 years ago i was 6 was the first time i ever saw beamNG and i absolutely fell in love with it i knew everything about it, the cars, the maps, the routes then just about a month or 2 ago i finally got it, and playing it was so nostalgic it just always felt like i had the game and the first car I drove was the sbr4 hill climb because I loved the look of it since I was 6. And now I have a RUclips channel for it I'm not the one watching the videos (I still do sometimes) I'm the one making them and playing the game and I'm just so happy that I got the chance
I grew up playing BeamNG 0.6, before the ibishu hopper and the legran. I stuck to that version for a while since I had the humblebundle version (you could download from a torrent) and my internet was very slow.
I dont remember exactly when i started, it was before we got the first unique engine sounds and before west coast was added but i have a few funny quirks of the version i started off with. The older pessima had insanely weak drive shafts, if you went over the smallest of bumps or accelerated with wheels fully turned, the drive shafts would break. The newer Pessima crashed your game if you attempted to do a burnout. A bit later, when customization was expandes on, the shortbody d series with a 5.7 and all terrain tyres could go about 400kmh before the tires blew. You can imagine i was sad when the supercharger was nerfed and they added torque damage. Oh and on a side note, the first or second gen SBR6 with the race exhaust was the best sounding car in beam history (long as you drove it in 1st person or the bumper views) And another side note, the old lazy 6 cylinders (pessima v6 and the 70s I6s) sounded just incredible. They had great bass
i started beamng before 2016 so seeing that menu is so nostalgic! i remember when there was only like 7 vehicles! I also remember the old ui and must agree it was much better!
My parents never let me get Beamng. I found out about it in maybe 2017 through WhyBeAre and had always wanted it. Still don’t have a pc lol and I’ve been trying to figure out if I should try and get it on my MacBook. Even though I haven’t played, this video still did kind of bring back some nostalgic memories for me
I have been playing 0.9 for a few years cuz I am still using a gt 710 with 8gb ram, I can run the dx10 version in low-med 720p and get 26fps in most maps :)
This is crazy, bought the game on dec 25th of 2015 and im still playing the game to this day with almost 1.5k hours, crazy watching this game develop slowly over all these years.
I remember back in 2013 when GTA 4 crash test were still a thing I started watching those videos but in BeamNG and I remember how much I wanted to play BeamNG and it was in 2019 when my brother got his pc an i5 9400f and RX 570 and I pirated BeamNG and the first version I played was 0.19 when the Vivace was the newest car and I spent hours in Utah with the different version of the car listening to Chungha's Dream of You and in Gridmap experimenting with other cars and testing top speeds. It wasn't until April 2022 when I bought it full price and still my best game purchase, it was that same year when I got my first personal computer, an Asus F15 with an i5 11400h and rtx 3050; I use BeamNG now as a way to relax and imagine sceneries in my head for at least 10 minutes. I will never regret buying BeamNG. PD: next year I will build my own mini itx computer because I will study 3D animation and for games and video editing I'm starting to see why the 3050 mobile only works for the basics things and my new pc will have an i5 13600k or i7 13700k with an RTX 4070 ti or the super one.
i remember first playing beamng probably around the time it came out at a friends house i was around 7-8 years old im turning 20 now, at the time a didnt really know what i was playing and it was still really rough so i didnt even get back to the game until 2018ish and i have been playing since!
I still remember playing the old Techdemos somwewhere around 2017 on a Laptop getting maximum 10 fps (back then with the covet as the only option, later the d series became the only option)... I always dreamt on playing the full version with more than just gridmap...
i first started playing in may of 2021, in version 0.22 shortly before 0.23 when the pigeon was remastered and gridmap v2 was added. i already have over 900 hours on it.
woah there was already wcusa back then? ive owned beamng for over half of my life, turned 16 on sept 19 and ive had it since sept 16 2016, meaning ive had it since version 0.61
I remember playing in the second half of 2018 (idk what version it was) and just getting on my dad's laptop which could actually run beamng pretty good and all I was doing was driving a car around and crashing it for hours. I can also remember spawning random cars and setting the AI to random to have traffic, but it was so bad that every 10 minutes I had to reset all the cars because they were crashing :D
if the cars are hard to drive on keyboard, just connect a controller of any type either wirelessly or using a USB C type cable depending on which controller u choose to use

When I was 14 I bought my first car and bike on my own, and I got my license a few days ago first try. Hopefully I can 3D scan my car sometime soon so I can finally bring it into BeamNG.
@@HawkEM2 yo that's sick, what do you drive?
@@obeseufo3707 2005 EM2 Civic Si, or if you're in the US and EX. This one I got was definitely an impulse buy, gonna put some detailing and paint correction work into it and sell it, luckily they've kinda gone up in value so I'm not losing much if anything. I've always wanted to have an EM2 as a forever car though, so I will buy a clean blue one to actually keep
@@HawkEM2 that's sick, I've been lucky to find two of my dream cars, an E39 and blobeye WRX wagon both at extremely good prices, so I'm set for a while once I get the E39 running again
God, seeing the old lighting makes me remember when i used to binge WhyBeAre's video from 2018-2020, makes me nostalgic as hell
The og crash sounds... so much memories of unspeakable playing it or other people hearing that same exact noise😢
I really liked this video! Old beamng, with stories from the author below! This definitely deserves a follow and a like!
i started pretty recently, only starting in 0.23. i was on my gaming laptop and i played for days and had thousands of hours on that game. loved it
I remember the version of BeamNG where all cars had the same old V8 sound :D
ive only been playing since 2021, but ive been watching since 2014, this brings back some good memories.
My first version was 0.10. I had the feeling of finding something really fun in a video game which was this version of beamng. Played a heck ton in the grid map. God this brings so much memories.
I remember this to before all the remasters 😂
I've been following beamNG since the first trailer, and been in love ever since
i have been watching this game grow ever since every single car had the same engine sound
but i have only been able to buy it recently due to computer issues this video definitely brought me back to the old days very nostalgic
Dude old beamng brings back such good memories lmao
my first version was 0.24 but i actually played the tech demo before i played it on steam and also that v6 sound is so good that they should bring it back
now I'm able to play this game after 10 years craving it, i couldn't be happier!
The first version of beamng i saw was 0.14 on camodos channle in 2023 i was finally able to download the game
I wonder if there’s a mod to bring back the old engine sounds because that pessima v6 noise is miles nicer than the new one. I remember when every car had a generic v8 sound lol it was so strange driving a covet hearing a v8
3:13 yeah, this nostalgia hitting me so hard
I remember discovering the game at the age of 9 or something like that, and playing it hacked on my father old windows 7 4gb of ram laptop, it was a really old version, now im here playing the real 0.31 beamngdrive with a 800$ PC.
The No texture on the numberplates before they get their texture is very nostalic. I bought the game in early 2017 before they had the AUD priced store, but I'm definitly not missing that. I started playong on 0.8, the hopper came out in 0.9
The first wave of new engine sounds are super nostalgic even if they lasted only like a year.
they should really bring back the flat tire noises, never noticed they went away!
Had the game since 2016, hard to believe how far it’s came since then.
So nostalgic man. I used to play that beamng on my gtx 750 😅
For me, i didnt get the chance to play earlier version but i used to watch YBR , and all those other youtubers when i was younger
i was first playing beamng when i was 3 years! Its bc my dad was showing me it, i actually didnt understood it well, but i remember we was with that old student covet drifting around old gridmap... aaahhh, that nostalgia!
Damn I've had this game since 0.8 but never really appreciated how much the game has changed over the years
so for me about 8-9 years ago i was 6 was the first time i ever saw beamNG and i absolutely fell in love with it i knew everything about it, the cars, the maps, the routes then just about a month or 2 ago i finally got it, and playing it was so nostalgic it just always felt like i had the game and the first car I drove was the sbr4 hill climb because I loved the look of it since I was 6. And now I have a RUclips channel for it I'm not the one watching the videos (I still do sometimes) I'm the one making them and playing the game and I'm just so happy that I got the chance
fr lol, how the game has evolved...
Old beamng... So much nostalgia
It wasnt a long time ago, about 2 years ago when I pirated BeamNG 0.10 so I could play it on my slow laptop. I loved it so much!
Oh and on a side note, the first or second gen SBR6 with the race exhaust was the best sounding car in beam history (long as you drove it in 1st person or the bumper views)
And another side note, the old lazy 6 cylinders (pessima v6 and the 70s I6s) sounded just incredible. They had great bass
i joined at beamng 0.12 if i remember correctly, it was way different to how it looks now, and beamng has improved a lot
and to think this was the first version i played
i am so happy i've been here for 6 years
I got BeamNG in 2020 i remember i played many times in Covid
i started beamng before 2016 so seeing that menu is so nostalgic! i remember when there was only like 7 vehicles! I also remember the old ui and must agree it was much better!
My parents never let me get Beamng. I found out about it in maybe 2017 through WhyBeAre and had always wanted it. Still don’t have a pc lol and I’ve been trying to figure out if I should try and get it on my MacBook. Even though I haven’t played, this video still did kind of bring back some nostalgic memories for me
@@dipwa.d BeamNG isn't supported on Mac; many games aren't. Only Windows 10, 11, and sort of on Linux with Steam Proton (What I used in this video)
@@NMH360 i know, but im pretty sure there's a windows extension that i could download. i dont know
When I started they only had Gavril cars and the Ibishu Covet, which had V8 engine sounds.
1:23 i didn't realize how much i mossed the old side bar until i saw it for the first time in a while.
I remember buying the game on their website long before it was on steam. i also remember the demo they did with only grid map and the D series.
im tearing up oh man the memories
Haha I was too when making this video
I have been playing 0.9 for a few years cuz I am still using a gt 710 with 8gb ram, I can run the dx10 version in low-med 720p and get 26fps in most maps :)
This is crazy, bought the game on dec 25th of 2015 and im still playing the game to this day with almost 1.5k hours, crazy watching this game develop slowly over all these years.
This made me to remember those insanegaz videos 😅
"noob vs pro vs hacker"
"car crash"
"it absolute my childhood"
that's honestly not too bad even 5 years later
i remember first playing beamng probably around the time it came out at a friends house i was around 7-8 years old im turning 20 now, at the time a didnt really know what i was playing and it was still really rough so i didnt even get back to the game until 2018ish and i have been playing since!
My first experience with beamng was in like 2015 on pirated ver 0.7.0.3 god it was so enjoyable despite only driving on gridmap
Version 4.1.1 from 2015 is when I really started playing. I miss the shiny UI
woah there was already wcusa back then? ive owned beamng for over half of my life, turned 16 on sept 19 and ive had it since sept 16 2016, meaning ive had it since version 0.61
Brings back so many memories 😢
I remember playing in the second half of 2018 (idk what version it was) and just getting on my dad's laptop which could actually run beamng pretty good and all I was doing was driving a car around and crashing it for hours. I can also remember spawning random cars and setting the AI to random to have traffic, but it was so bad that every 10 minutes I had to reset all the cars because they were crashing :D
I remember that I got beam after the Italy update..loving the game ever since
I first played on 0.14 and I remember doing crashes in a tree the was,on the suspension testing side of the gridmap
The old D-series engine sound is imbedded into my head
i first played 0.11 version of beamng very nostalgic i still have my 0.11 copy somewhere
I started playing BeamNG when it was 0.14, and bought it on Steam in 0.27.
nostalgia, i started play this game in 2016 🥲
if the cars are hard to drive on keyboard, just connect a controller of any type either wirelessly or using a USB C type cable depending on which controller u choose to use
First time I played BeamNG was when it only had the D-series and gridmap. I'm getting old.
