Today is the anniversary of your engagement based on my Pengrooms calendar. I'm so glad you found each other. ❤
I never used an app. I bought my first house and met 2 of the 3 people who lived in the triplex one house down across the street. Everyone said you have to meet Richard. He had heard from everyone that this nice lady and her dogs had bought the house across the street. Months later, I was planing the fronts of my porch steps because I couldn’t afford to replace them yet. He came up the street wearing a really nice leather jacket and when I saw him, he took my breath away. He was impressed that I knew how to use a planer and was really impressed that I owned it. He asked me out but said “you are going to have to do something about your dogs”. I told him I had yet to meet a man I would put my dogs in another room for”. I told him to take a hike. Over the next few weeks, he persisted. But he always had the dog clause. Do one day I said “why don’t you meet them? If they like you and you like them, we can talk. Otherwise, leave me alone.” He backed away as he said ok. I let my dogs out. I had two cavalier King Charles spaniel females. My girls ran over to him and my story is that he melted onto the sidewalk, I picked him up with a dustpan and never let him go. I bought the house in August. Met him at the end of September, he proposed on Valentine’s Day and we were married the next Valentine’s Day. We were together for 19 years and parted only when cancer took him. He was 56. He swore we knew each other in a previous life. Maybe we did. But I was 51 when he died and I’ve never wanted another partner of any kind.
That's a beautiful story, thank you so much for sharing it with us. I'm so very sorry for your loss, my friend. Sending you love and light ❤️🩹
This a great way to meet someone especially with the neighbors telling each of you about the other. I’m so sorry you didn’t have more time together.
I, too, am sorry you didn't have more time together. However, you did a great job of telling your love story, and I couldn't help but think, "This would make a great movie!" 🐶👩❤️👨🐶
Just saw your comment and it made me smile and broke my heart at the same time sending you big hugs from London ❤
I am queer and legally blind, and I can totally relate to amount of times you never hear from guys when you say you are legally blind
I hated to thumbs up your comment. 🤗 May you find your heart's desire. 🌻🍄
It's hard but trust me, only some worth your heart and time won't leave and thats when you will know 🙏🌈
"I was scared..."
"You still should be." OMG love it! 😂
I absolutely love you two. You both have an amazing sense of humor and your love for each other is a shining example of true love. You dont see 'disability' as an issue. You guys are amazing.
Wait... There are people who hear about a disease and don't immediately look it up?
My thoughts exactly 😂❤
Wow! Just wow! Knowing about your love story makes me so jealous! Just imagine that paul deleted the app and re-installed the dating app again and then suddenly, Matthew found you again. Both of you are meant to be together. Soulmates it is. 😊❤
Love you both. Your story is so cute. Thank you for sharing. Just wanted to say that Czechoslovakia doesn't exist anymore. And even when it existed there wasn't a Czechoslovak language. There is the Slovak language and Czech language. Anyway, thank you for your videos.
I just wrote the same😝I didn’t notice your post
I love hearing couples' "How we met stories," and yours is no exception!! ❤ Loved Maple wandering in to check on things -- he looked like he was thinking, "Oh, they're just talking again about how they met: 'Blah, blah, blah.' I'm going to go back to napping. I'll come back when they're serious about supper." 😂
Matthew and I being prose writers with messages makes me so happy ☺️
It’s so interesting to hear about international love stories in the modern age!
My mum met my dad via a magazine ad, and they sent letters from Singapore to Australia. It’s so amazing to hear about people who also didn’t get the whole “meet-cute” trope but instead met from an external source
You guys give me so much hope and happiness ❤
Loved the video as always! 😊
Hello, Matthew and Paul! I love all of your life stories :-) ... today as I heard that Paul thought that Matthew's native language was Czechoslovakian I burst into laughing :-))) I am Czech. Firstly we are not Czechoslovakia since 1992, secondly, there has never been a Czechoslovakian language - it is only Czech or Slovakian. But I enjoyed this video too☺🥰
I was raised by two English majors. It has truly affected my life. 😜
I recently met a guy on Hinge, who proposed to fly all the way to the country I live in, across the sea, to meet me for our first date.
I don't know what is going to happen, but I find that pretty incredible...
That's all the info we're getting?! I need to hear more, please!!! I love love stories!
Soooo.... what happened? :D
Met my husband through his mom that i had just met. I was coming out of a bad relationship and not ready to start again. I also had a 2 year old little boy to raise on my own. Anyway, i decided to just meet, he called me and the conversation was so nice. That was 37 years ago and now we have 2 more sons. Thank you for sharing your story! ❤
Paul says, "oh, I'm sure we were both chatting with multiple people..." and Matthew looks away like "hmmmm..."
Yeah, Matthew's a keeper.
Love the zoom on Maple!
I met my partner online, but it wasn’t a dating app, there was a Facebook group for anonymous messages from people in our university, I had recently broken up and realized I didn’t have any friends and sent a message there saying I was looking for people to talk to and described myself as “tiny woman, like to watch series, draw, and love unicorns and mermaids” haha
One of the comments was from a friend of my, now, partner and he mentioned him as a joke, as I found out later, anyway, I me and my partner started talking and were together for 6 years now lol
Loved the video! I love you both! 💞
I LOVE this, so glad you found each other and even more glad that you decided to allow us into a small part of your life. There must be so many stories that you can both tell, Matthew about being with a disabled person and Paul about his struggles with living with his disability. As much as the world has progressed wiyh how disabled people are treated there is still along way to go till we arrive at a place where people with disabilities (no matter what type) can live a life which is simular to a non disabled person but with people like you two sharing these vids it does help with making more people aware of the difficulties that people can face. Thank you both again 💖💖💖
Your story is so sweet and adorable.
My husband and I met as penpals. I had gone to a leadership conference in high school and was told about a website to connect with other students around the world. My husband lived in California and I lived in New Jersey. I honestly don't remember when I told him about my visual Impairment. We dated long distance for awhile then I moved to California for college then switched schools to Oregon and we moved in together. We've been together for 14 years and have been married for 6 years.
❤Matthew! I got teary eyed and my heart fluttered! You're so sweet to Paul! You two are too cute. PART 3!
Lovely Family!!!! Always!!!!
Definitely love hearing the story of how you two started dating and fell in love.
Dating apps are scary when you have a disability, especially a visible one like my kyphoscolioses. I know that me not being comfortable in my own skin, is a big part of the problem with finding someone else to love you, but in my mind its just being realistic... I mean with everything and everyone needing to be absolutely perfect on social media, its safe to say we DO CARE about looks, a whole lot actually.
The beginning of a great and lovely adventure!!!❤
I love you guys so much including mr. maple
So glad you guys found each other!
You two are the most beautiful couple. I mean that so very sincerely. I wish you guys all the love and happiness in the world ❤
❤ I love your channel and watching both of you, but I’m too poor to sign up for everybody so I guess I just get half of the story
Glad you found each other. I never dated for so many years now, and I just recently tried a dating app. Met someone. We talked for only less than a week. I was kinda starting to like him, but I think we had a misunderstanding and I just realized that this thing might not be for me. Just kinda sad for myself since this is the first time I tried to open up myself to anyone after a long long time and this was what happened. Watching this, I feel both happy and sad. Anyway, you make me smile everytime I watch your videos.
Paul you are an inspiration to me and im sure you are an inspiration to the disability community we have different disabilities (I have Oral Facial Digital Syndrome) but seeing your videos makes me happy of me knowing some who are apart 9f the same community of people.
Oops I meant Paul sorry
I love the both of you, you’re both so sweet and wonderful, thank you for sharing your dating app story with us 🥰 ❤
Love you two!
❤ you two are the best. So wholesome 🎉
I’ve been ghosted for desclosing I am blind
"That's it. The end." Of you two being single. 🌻🍄🤗
I love you guy's you guy's are the sweetest people in the world I love maple too ❤❤❤❤
does Paul know how cute he is? my gosh! So nice to hear your alls' story.
We want the wedding video 🎉❤
I was diagnosed with RP about 4 or 5 years ago. Let me preface by saying that my husband does not use electronics, so the fact that he hasn't researched my disease is not necessarily that odd. But since he knows nothing about this disease (other than I could eventually go blind), there are things he doesn't understand, like the problems I have with low light. I've tried to describe to him the "tunnel feeling", but he thinks what I experience what most people experience when driving in the dark with headlights on!
Maybe I am explaining it to him wrong. I guess I should get some RP printed info for him, so he has a better understanding of what is happening with my eye sight!
I love stories like this but I'm too scrared an way to hurt and broken to try dating. It is never really been worth it meeting new people. But I love stories like this because it gives me hope that my daughter will find true love like this.
Greetings from brazil!, love u both🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I met my guy playing a video game and we became friends. We decided to meet after about a month. I am low vision and do not drive anymore. This man drive 2 1/2 to meet me. We had a nice date and we just kept dating. It's almost 6 years later and we are still going. Now i will stay at his house a week at a time. It works for us.
I am intrested in what AI apps you use. I am trying my first one and am not sure how to feel about it yet.
I met my last husband online. Ironically, it was not a traditional dating app....it was a hook-up app. I knew he was a match when I was able to pronounce his last name correctly on the first try. For the curious, it's pie-at-cow-ski. Of course, ultimately, we didnt work out, but I was with him for 8 years.
Lindsay Lohan: Grool
Paul Castle: EHHHHHHM
You describe my dad who's Filipino. He's got too good a grasp of English writing in the way you describe it. It's too literally. 😂😂😂😂
Don't feel bad, I ghosted my husband for a month. Lol
Czechoslovakian is not a language. Former Czechoslovakia (today the Czech Republic and Slovakia) was bilingual state (just like Canada) with two official languages being Czech and Slovak. How do I know? I'm native Czech.
And also former Czechoslovakia - again today the Czech Republic and Slovakia are not an Eastern Europe. It's Central Europe along with Germany, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Austria, Hungary and Poland.
Good to know. Thanks for the info.
I keep forgetting Liechtenstein when thinking about Central Europe, which is quite funny, because I've actually visited there and there were historical connections, we saw Czech people buried in a cemetery there...
Glad you brought it up in such good detail - I am also Czech and I'm not sure I could have given such a good explanation. But I found Paul's assumption really funny because... yeah, I'm exactly that sort of English-as-second-language person. 😅
Hey
I'd rather click on you, Paul. You are wholly adorable.
I once met a guy on tinder and we went to the same university so we met there one day, he had protruding ears and for some reason that I cannot explain when I laid eyes on him the first thing I said was “wow, those ears” 😅 why did I do that? I don’t know, but his answer was “if it bothers you next time I can wear a hat or something” and we never talked about that again haha
I have to ask because I'm a new subscriber how are you able too use a phone? I know some people aren't fully blind and some are I guess I'm curious to the level of your blindness because you get around so well 😅
Paul has lost 90% of his vision to the rare eye disease Retinitis Pigmentosa. Blindness is a spectrum! Most people in the blind community can still see something, but it varies widely. You can see a simulation of Paul’s vision here ruclips.net/user/shortsW1ecLZ84gj0?si=fXzEGabLdDu3gV0e
Why am I getting dejavu?
carpe diem: deletes app for 1 month
❤
Can I ask for some advice recently I have been messaging someone but I don't know how to tell them I am disabled. I have never started to date b4 now so how and when should I do it? For some context I use walking aids braces and take over 20 tablets per day to manage my condition.
I would openly share everything very big, especially if you see it from the outside, but basically only share my health state in the chat after matching.
love this channel but please stop using the same thumbnail of paul in each video 😭
Who took whose last name? And what was the other person's maiden name?
❤love from Hawaii
I didn't think either of them did?
@junbh2 yes, both their last name is Castle.
🤗💖💖💖💖💖
As many times that I've said that all of you are awesome I'm going to say it again and again AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!🦮❤❤❤
❤
