..just watched this again.. such a master piece.. a shame still so many people never heard of this great flim..
Underrated masterpiece for sure
Yeah the first half is, I didn’t enjoy the rest
@@Bundy6Hunna be honest you only watched it because you wanted to see Ryan for 2hrs
@@Motivation_snack6668 luke glanton was a good character but yea ryan did a great job, the rest of the movie was lack luster. luke glanton=ryan gosling is the reason i like it so much so yea you’re right
good casting choices, every actor did an awesome job in the movie
This movie is filmed where I live, Schenectady, which actually means, the place beyond the pines....the director grew up here. So funny to see my neighborhood. The fair scene is a popular fair, Altamont Fair. The diner Eva works in is Scotia Dinner.😁😁😁
Clarification: the directors wife and one of the writers grew up there
@K.C.Love that's interesting, thank you. I didn't know that Schenectady actually meant the title of the film. Out of all the blu rays that I own I don't have this one. I'm going to order it after my comment. It's a beautiful movie that should be better known.
@@ellieelizabeth5627 Yeah. All the bank tellers and cop, diner staff, hospital staff are all real staff.
The diner is not the Scotia Diner - it is the Route 7 Diner in Latham which is now closed
Just watched this film without seeing any reviews or reading any points of view...top notch. That's how all films should be seen if possible.
This is a great movie...made me a little teary eyed.
Guys can be Gosling fans too. I'm definitely proof of that. SUCH a great movie though, regardless.
Drew B i love ryan gosling, no homo
This is such an fascinating comment now that we're 9 years later. There's a whole wave of men (including myself) who adore Ryan Gosling and the characters that he plays in his films. How times change.
Dane and Eva...they look so cute together like a big sis to his baby bro. love this movie.
I want to watch a behind the scenes making of this entire film.
Agreed. I am obsessed with this movie.
Yeah, me too, i just want to see it more and more and more, i Want to live in this movie, a little scary :)
6:43 = dedication to your craft
99% sure that shot never even made it into the movie either.
Nick Toss ...it was the opening scene.
@@Ash12428 Nope. Opening scene has no shots from within the dome even though the camera man risked it to go inside.
by "that shot" I meant the shot he's shooting from within the dome.
Nick Toss you’re right. Idk how I missed it but I didn’t see the guy inside the dome. I thought he was referring to the bikers going around inside the dome.
My dad always wanted his land to be remembered , and this video and the movie aswell gave him his wish. Thank you Derek and Marshall aswell. You guys were great . Looking back this was such a surreal and crazy time. Thank you for making it better 🙏 -Tommy
this movie is so underrated.!
Holy shit, I can't wait until this movie comes out.
Great film
This movie is so special to me. Coming from someone who’s dad has never really been in the picture, it resonates with me heavy.
I love this 💗
(can we talk about how CUTE Dane DeHaan look in this? 😍)
Who knew Dane would be such a stud?!!
2:51 "cause I like you santa clause... ahh ewwwew" freaked me.
Amazing Epic Movie!
Loved this movie a lot.
The right to be parents rejected by the mother, a cry of love for her child, an extreme gesture to save their future, the second part of the film does not console me as the emotional charge was able to express itself better in the first part.
Crazy fucking balls on the guy standing in the cage with the bikes haha
See the rolling paper Gosling takes out 4 seconds in, him and Ben would burn bare spliffs during shooting breaks. 😂
How do you know? Just curious, I believe you would just love to hear that story.
Andrew James Thomas it’s probably not the case and there’s probably no way or knowing.
@Ajay That was probably a light meter. They weren't filming that take (just a test run)
Me encanta el hecho de lo divertido que se la están pasando, nada que ver con la trama. Hermoso trabajo en equipo.
I want Ryans autograph!!!
it was such a good movie. my favorite! im in love with ryan gosling tho so
that's crazy... I was wondering how they shot that super fast scene in the woods
So he fell in love with Eva Mendes on here.
strange to think that this movie is why ryan gosling and eva mendes are together + have children together
And funny to think the kids look NOTHING like that. Lol
Look at Sean Bobbitt doing his thing. I'll see anything he's done.
i wish i could be there, looks like so much fun
Love this fkn movie *-* awesomeeee 3
Ryan in a hat :) still waiting for a movie to show up in my local cinema :(
he’s literally me
3.43 shes coming - angela merkel
0:49 so cute
I saw Helen from Bridesmaids in there a few times !
anyone know what camera they would have filmed the b roll with?
5:54 is that Barry Keoghan on the right?
Exactly what I was wondering!
thanks very much !! last question, do you know if it is an analog or digital camera?
Ryan's been hitting the gym
I think it was the best
hey people! do somebody know what exact kind of camera is the one ryan gosling is holding at the beginning? thanks a lot!
Cooper could be a good director i feel like
This aged well. :) (except the academy. Screw then)
what's the handheld thing he's using in the very first scene of this vidoe?
I Agree 100%
In the movie the quad sounded like a 4 stroke :P
3:45 like if you can see angela merkel haha
eva mendes sin maquillajes me asustooo!! Es un cuco tremendo!!
Are they doing test shots with that camcorder?
Emory Cohen is shy as hell.
PolarOpposite33 He's hot as hell in this movie. God Bless!!
PolarOpposite33 should of been the next star
ahmen#masterpiece
What bikes were used? They look like DR650's but everyone says they're Honda even though they look nothing like any Honda's even the XR's
HopelessStoner its drz400 trust me i had one like it its modded with some xr eqs thats why its looks like xr650
Raz zer So what would I need to do in order to replicate the bike? If you could let me know it would be appreciated. I mean specifically the white motorcycle he used for the majority of the first half of the film. I'm also not familiar with XR EQS, so If you could explain what that is it would be cool. Thanks
HopelessStoner get a drz400s then get all white plastics and remove the radiator shrouds from it and there you go
Its a bit complicated gosling ride a watercooled drz 400 and during the police chase it became 4 cylinder weird lol ..with some xr eqs so you buy a drz 400 and search for xr eqs that fit the bike in the movie anyway great job to who made that bike lol also they used 2 bikes the white one is not the same as the black one
@@evileye47 the black one is what model? Still a drz 400?
all i want to do is make movies on this scale for the rest of my life. fuck.
Was Ryan a CGI or was it someone else who rode inside the ball at the beginning of entering the tent? I doubt it could be him but i tried to look at the shot
Julio Rodriguez some one switches places with him when he goes off camera
Walsh Cooper thats what i thought i knew
Dane
leica x1 or x2 with optical viewfinder
x2 was only 4 months old when this movie was first released
this was all filmed in my backyard LOL
i dont know why but james reminds me of billy from smashing pumpkins
where ?
The Place Behind the Scenes
ok ok we fukin get it, ryan goslings biceps are fukin hug-...*watches video* ...0_0 ....oh
that wasnt the actual scene
this movie was filmed on an iPhone?
Trevor Jacobson no.
It was a rehearsal shot, often now cinematographers will use their phones to get a feel for which lenses they want and where thy want to place the camera
I just recently saw this movie. Liked it a lot, different than what I was expecting (I don’t do well with violence and that’s what I thought it was) but the corrupt cop subplot in the middle dragged it out. It was too long
digtal
🗣️
steroid free too!
The movie was film by a Sam Sung phione
