Thank you so much for making this, I've been scouring the internet to figure out which logo I want as I have hired a graphic designer and love all 5 of his designs. You seem to be the only person on the entire internet that has solutions for the client not just the designer! You have a new follower :)
Hi Hayley, I am so glad that you found the video useful. You are correct, I actually started my channel to help non-designers, such as business owners, to get a better understanding of logos and design. Like you say, there is a lot of content out there that is useful for designers, but I saw very little that helped non-designers to make decisions when it came to branding. Thank you so much for subscribing :)
thanks man so helpful we've got one sixth logo type which is Negative Space Logo i would appreciate if you could give us some advice when to choose it how to prepare ideas before designing it thanks again
Thank you, this information gave me so much clarity. I really needed a better understanding about logos. Now I have to create one. I must say starting up a business is a challenge. Lol
There is a lot to do Michelle. If I've been able to help you in any small way that helps you to move forward with a bit more confidence, then that makes me happy :)
Hi, Col! Id appreciate your opinion on this: I made a logo for a local tex mex restaurant & the owner loved what I presented but he insists on having a skull be part of the logo (as an icon) for the reason of his fixation on skulls. We are now doing the first revision to add that. I dont think it will make a positive impact on the logo since I aimed for a simple well-designed, clean logo also knowing that a logo design is for your audience and not for the owners personal likings. What is your take on this sort of situation?
Hi Jose, What kind of skull is it? Is it like a Calavera skull? This is the kind that is decorated and associated with the Mexican Day of the Dead tradition. If it is a Calavera skull, then I suppose there is the Mexican connection, however, that doesn't mean it is right to have a skull for the brand just because the owner likes skulls. The last thing you want is to have something added to the branding you've already created that looks entirely out of place. Maybe you could create something that can be a piece of marketing or promotion like a sticker that uses a skull that has your new branding on there. That way, the skull is used and it isn't actually part of the logo but another element of the overall brand.
@@RockYourBrand the owner doesnt care, so long as it has a skull as the logo icon. I already explained that it could be part of the brand, for example, the icon for a spicy sauce, spicy burger, etc. But the owner insists that the skull be part of the logo as the icon 🤦🏽♂️
@@josequiles7 I think you could do it as part of the logo, but it would need to be quirky in its design. You don't want it looking sombre or scary. I see you have asked the question in Logo Geeks. So we shall see what others think about it :)
@@josequiles7 thank you. Clients can throw some real curve balls at us from time to time, that's what keeps the job interesting :D Keep me up to date on how things progress.
Hello, I’m also a graphic designer and I designed my own logo, but I feel like somethings off or missing and I’d like to know is there any way to allow a fellow graphic designer to critique it?
Hi Shez, If you are on Facebook, check out the Logogeek community. It is a community of thousands of designers who can give you advice and feedback. - facebook.com/groups/logogeek When you post your logo for review, make sure to include information about what it is that you want your logo to convey, and the type of clients that you are looking for. That will help people to give better focussed feedback.
