Another loss for one of our under age sides. Italy youngsters seem to coming on well. Certainly turn ours over regularly.SRU need to have a long look at themselves.
It's never great to see, but there's always signs there of positives. For all the doomsayers, the U-20 national squad is just one of the pathways into the senior side, and there's quite a few of our own best homegrown players that didn't come up through that route. We would love a world beating U-20, but as we don't replace the entire Senior squad every year or so, we only need a couple to excel to progress to the next level. Some will, and some won't.
But in saying that, they could be better.

L'Italia sta finendo l'apprendistato. Come è successo pure alla Francia, quando entri in questo torneo occorrono tra i venti e i trent'anni per raggiungere una competitività accettabile: la Francia lo vinse per la prima volta (parliamo dei senior, ovviamente) nel 1954 (dopo essere pure fuoriusciti per qualche tempo dal torneo), la prima partita la disputarono nel 1910.
Se ricordo bene furono esclusi per “professionismo”…
Speriamo che la nazionale maggiore abbia la stessa continuità che stanno dimostrando i giovani !
La Francia fu seconda nel torneo alla sua sesta partecipazione e non giocò dal 1914 al 1919 e dal 1932 al 1946... L'Italia, nei suoi primi 25 anni di competizione, fece peggio, con più ultimi posti e niente più wooden spoon. La sua migliore prestazione è stata il quarto posto...

Why can’t Scottish clubs just copy Leinster. Have rugby in all state schools the best players get scholarships to Melville or whatever for the best coaching facilities. It’s not that complicated but the private schools just want to play in their cup competition..
Local Authorities just want that SFA money, not interested in Rugby because its not as well funded. Just look at the setting up of actual SFA academies in state schools. When I played Rugby as a teenager I actually had to go and play for a different school in another town. Ruffled a few feathers when I'd turn up to PE with a different schools crest on my t-shirt.
SRU and TOWNSEND this is your failure. Grenock Grannies and French D2 players is a lot easier than actually developing young players. outside of our National team we have hew haw, Nada,NOTHING. Townsend is now about to start his 8th attempt and looking at this tripe he is responsible for this state of affairs he is the National coach and he has delivered nothing and will leave nothing.😡
The ridiculous policy of appointing female refs in mens matches needs to stop it is PC gone mad which men have been overlooked? to achieve this?
Whaaaat? Refereeing is all about knowledge, judgement, observation and the like. There's zero reason why a woman can't be just as effective as a man in that role. You're locked in the past mate.
How about you tell us which men have been overlooked? Give us names and refereeing resumes and expose the great injustice being inflicted on male referees. I don’t think you have a legitimate gripe other than it’s not what you were used to 20 years ago. Pc gone mad? Good grief man.
