Thanks Laurie and heartfelt congratulations on your best choice of shows to be on. I am a "recovering" alcoholic ( 22 years dry ) but will never lose sight of the fact that being an alcoholic I am only 1 drink away from a drunk. My eye opener was when I realized that something that doesn't even have a brain was controlling me. As you get through another sober day you will feel more and more alive and realize there are no days when you have to look back on and, what did I do last night because you're sober you are in command of you !. Lots of luck and great job.

First I'm Just Wondering If Anybody On Here Making These Broad Judgements Have Ever Had A Drinking Or Drug Problem. She Had $ She Had Fame Which Only Feeds The Thought Of "I Have It All Together" "I'm Not An Alcoholic" It Just Goes To Show That Alcohol / Drugs Do Not Discriminate. No Matter How Big Ur Bank Account. No Matter How Much Of A "Star" U Are If U Feel Empty Inside None Of The Material Stuff Will Fill That Void. But To Judge Or Even Speak On Something U Don't "Know" Personally..... In Fact Just Be Thankful Your "Above" It.

Jane Pauley needs to look at her. She is 6'3 and still had issues concerning self-esteem.

I was drinking your such a cool woman. As a trans woman after 9-11 Christians said I was to blame - I thought I was to blame in my mental state

Laurie is a hot smart lady. But...a REAL alcoholic can barely hold down a dishwasher job much less have their own TV show or stay in good physical shape. It seems to be a badge of honor these days to claim to have had a drinking or drug problem and then miraculously pull yourself up by the bootstraps and become a millionaire all by yourself, by the grace of God. yadda yadda yadda.....right...

I agree. Most true alcoholics can simply not function without alchohol, and cannot function in society. I think she may have had a mental issue with alcoholism but was not a full blown alcoholic.
