    Also worth mentioning is that the optical performance is better on the 24-105, and that you have a manual aperture ring on the lens. Those two features alone makes it worth it.

      Great call out, newer lens so overall great quality. Heads up tho that the manual aperture ring doesn’t work for photo

    Good take on this lens. I was fortunate enough to snag a used one last year and saved a few hundred bucks. I only shoot stills.
    I bought a Tamron EF 28-105 f/2.8 lens over 20 years ago and it never left my camera then. When DSLR and mirror less cameras came along, that lens was not optically good enough to render mega pixels sharp. I still have the Tamron but never finds its way into my bag.
    I have been hoping someone would come out with one and sure enough, Canon did. It is big and cumbersome at times. I like to be invisible when I shoot and it's hard to do that with this on your camera.
    I am selling my Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8 L ver II lens because this more than replaces it and it's an RF lens.
    If I had the Canon RF 24-70 f/2.8 L IS lens, I would be keeping it.

    Best thing about this lens is I end up switching to a 70-200 lens frequently which means when the action gets close all of a sudden I can be shooting wide angle instantly.

    Nikon and Sony have the Tamron 35-150mm f2-2.8 and it’s amazing. Would recommend highly for anyone on those mounts watching by chance.

    I had the 24 to 105 and it was nice in low light but very big and heavy I traded it for a 24 to 105 F4 which is not as good in low light but it's good enough. I have the Tamron EF 70 to 200 and I will wait for Sigma or Tamron to come out with a 70 to 200 that is lighter than what I have to get the F28 back

    Considering how easy it is to adjust the zoom manually on this lens, do you think it's worth investing in the $1000 power zoom adapter?

    • @joeypusateri_

      I would probably say it isn’t worth it

    24-85 2.8 with external collapsible zoom would be a great compromise. 70 is still wide for a portrait.

    What about severe blue and green chromatic aberration and very soft image wide open in case of near shot? It was price for this 70-105 range. I prefer to keep better image quality 24-70 f2.8 with 70-200 f2.8

    Dude Ive had my lenses since like April now, and it has some of the worst hunting out of any of my lenses. It's honestly so annoying as I Bought this Lens to be the end all for weddings. Does anyone have this issue and if so is there a way to Fix it? ( I shoot on the Canon R5)

    • @joeypusateri_

      Man I only used it for a week or so but maybe mess with the AF setting on the R5. You can adjust the sensitivity. Also try upgrading the lens and body’s firmware

    every lens should be internat zoom... and shouldnt we compare the 24-105 f2.8 to the 24-105 f4 instead ?

    • @joeypusateri_
      @joeypusateri_  Месяц назад +1

      i think in a professional application the 2.8 lenses are what people are comparing. the f4 is not considered a top of the line lens. also i have been using the 24-70 so it was my personal comparison to see if its worth the change

    I honestly gotta say, weight and size of a lens is a non-factor for me on any and all lenses. I care about performance, how the lens feels to use, price and stuff like that.

    Just got this lens at my job. I hadn’t requested it cause I didn’t see the vision with this lens, but my boss got it anyway.
    After playing with it for legit just five minutes, I was convinced this lens was a game changer. The ONLY gripe I have is that I would’ve liked a bit wider max aperture, an f/2 would’ve been nice. Some of my favorite lenses to shoot with on my C70 are L-EF lenses with the 0.71 converter, giving me an extra stop of light.
    But honestly? With all the video-heavy features on this lens, I can see how it’ll be such an amazing asset for jobs, especially the more run-and-gun live event type videos.

    • @joeypusateri_
      @joeypusateri_  3 месяца назад +1

      I feel like this lens is damn near perfect, the f2 would just make the lens even bigger and heavier than it already is... which i think would be too much. also would make it like $1k more expensive

    • @abeljuarezmedia3428
      @abeljuarezmedia3428 Месяц назад

      @@ajayps100 honestly, I had some issues with it. The image is great, lightweight, and having manual control over the aperture with the dedicated ring was amazing to have. However, I felt that at the tighter focal end, the lens would struggle. I was shooting in a dynamic environment with lighting being a little all-over the place. If you don't have enough contrast/light at the tighter end, this lens struggles. Did it ruin my shoot? absolutely not. But there were crucial moments i was slowly zooming in and by the time i was fully zoomed in, the lens would hunt for focus even though it was already in focus and then just stall at an out of focus spot. The additional function button to turn off AF was tremendous, and definitely helped once I realized the issue on set
