“Yandere Dev is many things but a ‘minor attracted person’ is not one of them” Are Are you sure though He genuinely tried to argue that the age of consent should be abolished and replaced with a test to determine whether or not someone is ready for sex-
then stop following the games development?? Yandere Dev is a PERSON with emotions too why do you guys shit on his work so much- exactly its all his seven years work do you know how long its been? You guys always talk about how hes not good enough but would cry if someone did it back to your years of work
@@kyoju_hakai no one said he wasn't a person... We're just saying that he took seven years to develop the game you would think the storyline would be better than what it is...
Remember, this isn't their oc or something. They didn't make it from scratch And Yan dev realized too late that he was just putting random mini games & Easter eggs that now made him not finish the game (Sorry for my bad grammar)
@@kyoju_hakai mam, no (or sir) We never said he's not good enough, or did we? , I don't really even like him that much. But still, yandere simulator is a good game, but the story line. Isn't that good but, I'd say i would give a game that's been in development for 7 years about 7.8/10
Oh my god. I love this. Every "rival" shown gave our girl the courage to pull herself together. Reika: friendship= the quality to have someone to rely upon and be united Mayumi: kindness= the ability to show your love with your charm and actions Izumi: truth= be true to yourself and others who care about you Niko: dreams= turn your fantasies to a reality Akari: protection= know you have people who want to help you and care for you Haruka: self love= care your yourself and others have and have the courage to look in the mirror and laugh Yui: family= to be close to one another, in a way that they'll never leave your side
They're listed in the order they were redesigned (from what I remember, correct me if I'm wrong) so it goes: Reika - Osana Mayumi - Amai Izumi - Kizana Niko - Oka Akari - Mida Haruka - Muja Yui - Hanako Hope this helped a lil
As a mentally ill person who's experienced hallucinations in the past, there _is_ a way to make the yandere concept work and not revolve around ableist stereotypes; just lean in to why people act "yandere" irl. Abandon the idea that the yandere character needs to be genuinely sympathetic or have some grand tragic backstory that explains everything. They aren't the giggly, timid little flower with pink low pigtails and a bottle of rat poison in their purse who just "loves MC too much". The reason that yanderes are scary is because _they're an abusive partner._ Like, think about it. Common yandere tropes (some even displayed in even yansim!) are the yandere character isolating the love interest from their friends and family, the "if I can't have you nobody can" thing where they'd rather see the love interest dead than see them not dating the yandere, outright manipulation of both the love interest and those seeking to befriend the love interest, and even physically harming the love interest themselves! This isn't even getting into the serial murder part. No "mxdness" aspect needed. Just make the character a villain protagonist who feels entitled to the love interest. It may be hard to get the audience to connect with them then, but it's a truer portrayal of the core of the character type than I've seen in most places.
But I like the way she did it she made it seem like a yandere doesn't have to be a yandere I get the game it's called yandere simulator but can't you simulate a yandere becoming a new person becoming more humane.. I'm not saying taking out the killing and the drugging and things like that I'm just saying that maybe the storyline could be tweaked a bit
finally a person who really gets it, like, if you played into the abusive dynamics lens of it instead of making it some kind of mental illness awareness thing (especially when reality shows that mentally ill ppl tend to be more susceptible to abuse by family n partners alike) you would get a very introspective game about just how bad a person can get when they feel like they have enough power on another person , you could play things normally and be honest n communicative n romantic, or you can take advantages of your love interest´s insecurity, isolating them , getting possessive n worse , people dont really ?? explore how abusive relationships play up when the abuser is the woman. ... so much focus lays on how much damage ayano does onto the rivals but dont rlly work on the aspect of how she affects her love interest´s psyche ya know
As someone who was abused, the yandere trope feels so real because people abused me like that. They weren't mentally ill and there was no justification, they just made my life worse.
“Yandere Dev is many things but a ‘minor attracted person’ is not one of them” Not to joke around but yikes that aged badly knowing what just came out about him lately.
I've just gotta say, you nailed my problems with Alex's original concept of the character perfectly. I never really liked the younger sis character, visually. But, I couldn't really pinpoint why I didn't, until you explained it. She's really uncanny, and even *looks* real sus With that aside, Yui is such an adorable character. Even if you don't expand much on this story you've created after this video, I love to think that, when Himari is discharged, her and Yui become best friends, in a familial sense. Yui grows her hair out to try and copy Himari's hairstyle, and Himari lets her paint her nails pretty colours and play make believe
I like how in your story Aya gets out of her delusions by finding good friends. Often people think that to wake up someone from their delusions is to bring up reality to them. But they often forget that the delusions were created to get away from that reality. And the way to make them wake up is to make that reality good for them. P.S. I am not talking about like schizophrenic people because I know that it works different for them.
As someone who does experience delusions due to psychosis: this is true for the less harmless delusions I have(those that are not produced due to paranoia and my bad mental state) Those "harmless" delusions are sort of used as a coping mechanism for my brain to handle reality, due to it being so bad and I know if it all was better I would be able to heal and bassically "cure" myself from my poor mental state,,,, (Currently I am not able to do that but in the future I hopefully will, to other people who suffer the same or worse, it's going to get better! Even if it doesn't seem like it)
As much as I'll miss this series, I feel like this really is the perfect point for it to end. Hanako/Yui as the last "rival" just makes sense, as well as the nurse as one of the latter, not just someone in the middle. At least in this version, they just seem to have the most relevance to Aya and her realtionship with Seiya. And they raise the stakes much higher than some highschooler with a crush. I think this was a really satisfying ending. Thank you for an amazing series and I'm excited to see what will come next!
I still feel like megami should be the last, because she's literally the council president and can expose yandere Infront of everyone if she slips up. And hanako isn't just in the middle, she's the second last. Though I understand why you would think it would be better for her to be last
I respect your decision to stop this series. It's your channel and you can do whatever you want with it. But I disagree with what the people said in your Discord. Making this series doesn't make you a hypocrite. Criminals can have mental health issues too, and your series was about a girl who has mental health issues learning about friendship and getting healthier. That's the good ending, her bettering herself and after going through her journey, she's surrounded by people who care about her, the real her. Alex's game incentives you to be violent while your story does the opposite. You're encouraged not to harm other people. I think what you set out to do was fine. Plus your story had a lot of diverse characters who also struggled with mental health but they all ended up different. I'm speaking as someone who also struggled with my mental health and I had to work hard to get better. I'm still not fully where I wanna be but the fact that I'm still seeing professional guidance shows that I'm not quitting anytime soon.
People came for the Yansim content, but we stayed for the story you made. These characters could have been completely unattached from Yandere Simulator and it wouldn't change a thing for me. Keep going Calli, we'll support you.
This story gives a game that's just "KiLl tHeM aLl," so much emotional baggage, and I'm sad to see it go, keep up the awesome job calliemari, even if not though this story.
Himari realizing that people love her, plus her recognizing and accepting that she needs help legit made me tear up. I love your art so much, and your characters and storyline were incredible (I might have also formed an unhealthy emotional attachment to Himari). Can't wait for more of you content!
1:27 "The developer may be a lot of things but he's not, lets just say, a minor attracted person isnt one of them." OOP NOT ANYMORE Calli with the gift of prophecy, or the gift of jinxing.
ive seen a lot of people say their piece, so i'm gonna try and throw my hat into the ring as well: as someone with bpd, i have enjoyed this series immensely- i really love all the heart and thought you've put into these characters, and what you've produced has been absolutely gorgeous. at the same time, though, i can't admire your choice to end the series more; while not the same, bpd is often compared to 'yandereship' as well, and there have been points in the series where i definitely felt uncomfortable with the portrayal of mental illness, even if it's far better than anything that yandev creep could make. thank you for taking the criticism to heart, but also thank you for making such an enjoyable series. good luck with your hiatus, and i'm excited to see what you do next!
Yes same here. The yandere trope is basically just bpd but sexualized and demonized. I think it might be possible to make a less stigmatizing version but i think yanderes will always be stigmatizing to some extent.
walking into this series of revamps, i was not expecting to get attached to the characters, but that end animatic just got me, and I almost cried. The singing, the music, the art, everything about it was so heartwarming that it makes me feel for himari. good job on the story calli, i am for sure looking forward to what you have in the future
I understand why you're stopping this series, but I've loved all of the redesigns and I don't think it was cringy at all. The ending wrapped up really well and I've actually felt a little emotional watching and listening to it (which is more than I say for Yansim).
Honestly ur version of yandere sim was everything I always hoped the game would be, too bad it’s being made by some guy just fulfilling his Japanese school girl fetish😪 hope u turn this into a web comic series or something I’m way too invested in ur ingenious story line :) can’t wait to see ur next era of content x
When the animatic ended, i really dont know why, but i started weeping more than i have in months. Thank you callimara for this series. Thank you so much. For making one small person's on the internet day just a little brighter with your videos . Thank you for giving us an interesting story. Thank you.
I'm not ready for this to be over yet and I wish we could have seen the redesigns of the other rivals but it's all up to you... I'll miss the series but I'm happy to continue supporting you♡
I never understood the meaning of her name, all rivals have names that refer to her appearance, personality or function, most were personality traits, so I think it's weird that she's the only one with a realistic name but that doesn't fit the character, Hanako means "daughter or son of the flower", "child of the flower", or "flower basket", but her accessory (her only recognizable "mark") is a heart, so I don't understand why they chose this specific name, the only thing the name has to do with the character is the fact that it has "child" in the meaning and she is supposed to be childish, but I still think that a flower in place of the heart or as a print on the socks would be better.
He chose Hanako because it’s one of the most common girl names (Like how Taro is one of the most common boy names) Basically, she and senpai are the blandest siblings
@@unpopulargoose The two names have similar meanings in terms of nature and "son or daughter", but they are different from the names of all the other characters.
@@kaikaproductions I learned that "ko" gives this meaning, and "hana" is flower, I like to research names for my characters and learn certain words and trivia.
I'm actually kind of glad you stopped where you did, otherwise the story would get as repetitive as Yansim's. I've really enjoyed the series, but making content out of something that's so bad and that you hate is kind of... dragging it. I'll definately keep watching, you're a great storyteller and I can't wait to see what you do next :)
A pity to know the series is over. Well, it's been a good run. Thank you for the amazing content. Your ideas truly are incredible in their structure and originality. I wish you the best moving forward. :)
[SPOILERS FOR THE END OF THE VIDEO] I was expecting just a regular character assessment and design i was NOT expecting a depiction of the good ending. HOW ALL THE RIVALS YOU KILLED IN THE ORIGINAL GAME WELCOME YOU BACK WITH *YOUR* NAME JUST GOT ME WAAAAYYY TOO MUCH IN THE FEELS. I JUST NOTICED HOW WELL LOVE LIKE YOU FITS WITH HIMARI
Watching the ending made me cry. All ended well for her. Even tho this story for ayano isn't one you were proud of because you realized what you were doing, i still loved it. I'm happy she came clean and eventually got discharged
I AM SO PROUD OF HIMARI! that ending made me tear up and my face hurts from smiling. i understand you not wanting to continue and while i’m gonna miss this series, it atleast led me to your channel and i have no doubt that i’m going to stick around. thanks for writing all of this. it’s incredibly heartwarming and overall just really nice, ya know. your singing is really pretty and the ending was great.
I hope the criticism thing didn't make you feel too bad! I never felt that you were being hypocritical or anything at all, you simply are an amazing storyteller, one who has lots of passion for world building and characterization and story writing in general.. then you saw a story that once had potential and wanted to revamp it into a newer and much better version. So I truly hope you didn't feel too down!! You're a great artist and creator, and these series truly were my absolute favourite and I enjoyed every single bit of it♥ I'll definitely miss it but your happiness comes first, so good job on setting a limit and putting yourself first!! I'll be looking forward to what you do next definitely, because yansim related or not, your story telling abilities are second to none!!! Sending you all the love
I don't believe your take on this concept is hypocritical at all, especially considering your version advocates the opposite of what a typical yandere story involves, tons and tons of murderviolence! I love that the good ending of this story involves making friends and actually getting better mentally, it's a very sweet and actually heartwarming take on the original concept It's really evolved to it's own story separate from YanSim and I love that, would love to see the story continue on in some way. Like a webcomic or as you said, a light novel Also the animatic made me cry ngl,, Also also, you ended up using so many of my favorite Japanese names for these characters, especially Yui, I adore that name to bits!! Have my own Yui, but she's not nearly as tooth rottingly adorable as this one haha, tho I should draw her more,,
Noo- I’ll miss this series 😭. But I’m still gonna stick around to see what you’ll do next after this. Great design for Hanako btw:> Edit 10/27/21: Holy mother of Irene- 936 Likes ALREADY?!- Edit 12/9/21: OH MY GOSH 1.2K?! HOLY FRICK- Edit 10.17.23: Well, I’m a popular comment now. Miss this series, tho would like someone to make a full fledged quality animatic for it lol
Omg i have not heard about aphmau in years has 'my street' ended yet what about what was it 'diaries' has it's revamp ended yet god i don't even know if i wrote her channel name right.I might go check now,i swear it's been more then 4 years.
@@evette2381 Ah, well you see, Aphmau’s Mystreet has been on hiatus for a year now, and for the remade Minecraft Diaries she stopped producing it due to the amount of stuff she has to recreate if that makes sense. Aphmau has been creating videos targeting children since the start of 2020 so yeah-
@@Aphmeow2300 Just found out a while ago my niece said that she watches her when she came up to me.I was so surprised.I was even more surprised when i saw her sub count it's been ages.
I really never saw Hanako being a rival as sus- Also sad to hear that the series is over, loved it while it lasted! Also that ending was an absolute tear jerker, I loved it so much
The narration was so goooood! I got so invested that I legit went "aaaaw" when Yui started opening up to and then the "Your Name" music kicked in and that just did me in. Honestly loved this series and what a wonderful send off. I can't wait to see what else is in store!
i really enjoyed it, and the fact you stopped due to realizing what you were doing was hypocritical and not at all what you initially intended is praise-worthy, not a lot of people can own up to these kinds of things and stop whatever they were doing because they realized how harmful it is during the process. excited to see what else you'll upload now that this is over!
@@eaterbattery she explained in the video as to why it'd be hypocritical of her, it has been mentioned earlier in the replies, 3:40 in the video I believe
I’m going to throw in my own two cents here: I genuinely enjoy your rewrite of the series. You definitely made it grow into its own thing and I have enjoyed the Anomaly series. While this is my own persona feelings, I think your interpretation of the characters felt well-written and I don’t think you’re wrong in anyway for pushing for the pacifist route. I think the idea of both route are a great way to showcase someone’s humanity and I think why we enjoy the pacifist route is because we want to see Himari grow as a person. You established her to be a very engaging character and when you gave off your ideas, I knew I wanted to see how her character was going to go as you continued with your series and you honestly delivered. Again, these are my own thoughts as someone who watched the series since almost the beginning. You are welcome to your own thoughts about how you feel about the series but I definitely thought you did a phenomenal job of taking a concept from something that exists and was able to twist it into a great story. Keep up with your amazing work when you move onto to your other projects!
I know this is a year old, and I don't know if you'll ever see this, but I did wanna give my two cents on someone who experiences psychosis as a result of BPD, and who just found this series and really enjoyed it. I think the world needs more content like this. Content that separates morality from mental illness, and doesn't act like mental illness defines it, or you as a person. With psychosis and PDs especially, people seem to conflate the two. To some, people with cluster B PDs (BPD, NPD, ASPD, and HPD, for those who aren't aware) automatically have ✨️ bad and manipulative ✨️ intentions and are clearly doing what we do on purpose because we have the disorder, so it means we were born evil. Or whatever. It sounds ridiculous when you're an actual mental health advocate, but this is how most people think. Have you ever seen an article about how to HELP someone with NPD? It's always how to _cope_ with them. It's gross. But I don't think this series demonizes mental illnesses. It shows the paths that you can take to recovery. It also shows the paths that you can take...away from recovery (though obviously the worst end for this rewrite is like...the extreme super worst-case scenario and, for lack of a better term, hyperbolic). That's not demonization. That's _life._ Your portrayal doesn't paint Himari as objectively good or objectively bad. What she does is entirely up to the player's choice. She starts off as a neutral, but depending on what the player does, she can heal...or she can not. But it is possible for her to heal. It is possible for her to learn. She is given the chance to do so. And that is shown. And that is so important. Honestly, I really do think the unpleasant side of mental illness needs to be shown more. The side that people _really_ don't like to portray. The side where yes, people with mental illnesses can make poor choices. Yes, their mental illness can have a hand in causing damage. It happens. It's unrealistic to think that it doesn't. The important part is that none of that defines the person underneath it. The person that's scared of their symptoms, and doesn't understand why what's happening to them is happening. The person that wants to get better but doesn't know where to start. The person who's just...a person with some really hard brain stuff going on.😮 I dunno, I'm sorry, that was long. This isn't to try and get you to ✨️ revive the series ✨️ or anything, especially with recent events. It was just a thought. Or a lot of thoughts, I guess. A lot of thoughts that I'm not even sure made sense lol. 😅 Edit: Also, this isn't to say that the character or real people with mental illnesses shouldn't be held accountable for their actions. They absolutely should, and I...don't even know if anyone would manage to get a message of "Yeah, mental illness makes every bad thing you do okay!" out of "Mental illness is not a reflection of who you are as a person", but just in case. In fact, I think in endings like the manipulation and No Mercy endings, Himari SHOULD be held accountable for her actions. It's important to portray that too. Mental illness has a lot of nuance.
Okay I know I'm only 5 minutes in but I honestly think that this series has been really educational... and while we may not add anymore character I personally really wanna see more story updates! You've been really passionate so far and maybe we could make a few adjustments in order to create the rest of the story together? Something that, dispite its tropes and shortcomings, can look to educate and help people with mental health? Just something to think about!♡
God this has made me sob hard😭😭😭 Even though it's supposed to be about a yandere game, The story is so good!!! Pacifist route or genocide route either way I'TS THE STORY OF THE GAME THAT MAKES IT INTRIGUING FOR THE AUDIENCE!!! You took a common stereotype and gave it more depth, I watched this series ever since you posted your ver. of amai until now and all & all you have made a wonderful masterpiece!
I totally understand why you would rather stop with the revamps, considering the criticism. I personally felt like you were trying your best to make it nuanced and mindful of actual mental health issues, and I was really enjoying hearing how the different actions you could take could help the protagonist's mental health either get a bit better or worse, and that also affecting the story. I liked how you put emphasis in support groups for her and all! And with you focusing so much in the paficist route I do feel that was a good thing too, because you did want for her to get better and that made me, as a spectator, want her to get better too. Not sure if you'll continue using the characters for a story like that in the future or not, considering the yandere theme, but if you do I'd still be up for it. Maybe you wouldn't have to go deep about murder and instead focus on the social manipulation part for the "bad route", if portraying her as a murderer feels uncomfortable. Regardless, I enjoyed seeing it so far and I'm curious about what you'll come up with in the future! Be it this or any other projects (Also, wow, that ending story broke me, it was very beautiful) Also, I see you enjoy Cookie Run, and I'm very curious what you have to say about it- I really like it and lately have been playing a lot of Kingdom! The characters are awesome~
I'm really glad that you're stepping up and knowing when to stop. To be honest, i think creating content like this- while is entertaining, is stopping you from making your channel bigger than it is. I hope that you find more fun in creating more varying works as well. Good luck with your final placement!
I personally didn’t mind the storyline u did, even if u were unintentionally pushing the pacifist route ( that’s mostly because I’m not a fan of the yandere trope ) but I do understand the whole misinterpretation of mental health when it comes to yanderes would be a big problem
God that ending was a feels trip. The song really fit. I can imagine how much detail could go into it if it were to be an actual game. I respect your decision on this and hope you work on more great stuff!
Even if you end the series which is your decision and it's honestly fine, we can't wait to see your new content!! I FEEL LIKE I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK TO YANDERE SIM AFTER THIS VIDEO This is one of my favourite videos ever. Honestly the story telling made me so relaxed it was so good
that ending was amazing. i'll be a bit sad to see this series go but i'm *definitely* going to stick around for your newer content. good luck on your final placement!!
I rewatched this series and the end is so heartwarming. It made me cry. Seeing her being surrounded by her friends accepting her. I wish I had that. I wish.
Well it was good to meet someone with such amazing stories for a 7 decades game. I can't wait for more of your ideas! Also, I had never felt so emotionally attached to a character especially if they were a villain but sister you made me cry
I'm really gonna miss this series, I have mental health issues myself and it always brightened my day no matter how bad it was, and I always thought it had a lot of potential to teach about mental health! BUT, with that said, I respect your decision and can't wait for what's next on your channel!! ALSO THE STORY AND ANIMATIC MADE ME CRY THAT'S HOMOPHOBIC
As a mentally ill person, there is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying or making content for a fictional trope. I am not harmed or bothered because someone (or multiple people) are enjoying a trope. The yandere trope is mostly compared to cluster B disorders, which I suffer from. The yandere trope was never meant to be based on an actual disorder. People saying "oh, these traits? MUST be cluster B" when they see a literal abuser trope (yandere) and attacking others for it IS what is harmful, and I'm honestly tired of saying this. It's more tiring than the yandere trope is according to some people, and I'm sorry that got you burned when all you wanted was to share some resigns
Honestly, I really like the changes and depth u gave these characters. Plus if people just want the killing and not the so called "cringe". No one but themselves is stopping them from playing the original. Because like calling anything cringe is stupid when like "ok so... doesn't mean it won't stop me from having fun". But also idk about mental health. Because seeing how you portrayed it how you would as an individual. Your not really gonna be able to meet everyone's liking or standards and that's ok. (also idk if It's the best but u tried anyways and that should be appreciated)
i'm exposing myslef a bit but the ending made me cry, good job !! I wasn't expecting that deep dive into the story when i saw the first redesign from you but it turned out to be SO GOOD
i will cry bc yui deserves better, but i'm glad she had a happy event :3 for the cookie run question thingy, i love pumpkin pie cookie ((crk)), black garlic cookie ((crob)), strawberry crepe ((crk)), and strawberry cookie ((both))
im sad to see this series go because i cannot explain to you how much it touched me. imagining your characters in the scenarios you described in their videos was so fun and the end made me cry a lot, its truely beautiful what you’ve made out of a story that was previously shallow n pedestrian… but im so happy to see u move on to things you actually enjoy in the future! i cant wait
I'm a little bummed you're ending it, but I totally get it and you shouldn't feel pressured to continue if you no longer feel motivated and inspired. 😊
Okay, I love your story. I've never cared for Yan Sim. The first video was a random pop-up in my recommendations, and thanks to that I was able to listen to you. I'm much more excited for a light novel. Even after this series I've been watching a bunch of your other content.
As a person with mental illness and some hospital trauma, I love this concept and story. It's a story of growth and hope, and it gives me hope that I could be better some day.
i cried at the ending oml you made something that was a terrible killing game to an amazing story you really should make this into like a choice game kinda like episode Or just a series on youtube cuz honestly its difficult to make me cry from a video
I'll miss this series, but I'm glad it happened. I'm glad you made these characters and story that I fell in love with, and the good end animatic almost made me cry. It's bittersweet, but I can always go back and watch these videos, and continue watching your channel progress ♥️
I AM SPEED! ALSO- I WAS WAITING FOR THIS CUZ THE INCEST SISTER SCARED ME SO MUCH.... Edit- HOL UP- THIS IS THE LAST ONE?!! I'M GONNA MISS THIS SERIES😭💔 Edit no2 - honestly, I was only sticking around to yansim cuz I loved your redesigns and whatever you were coming up with... Not really into yansim but you kept me hooked! I will still keep supporting your channel cuz I genuinely love your videos! I look forward to what you do in the future
Yeah I binged the whole "redesigning Yandere-sim" series in like two days and it was pretty cool and entertaining and kept me calm and helped my anxiety so what Nice reimagining! Cool to listen to while drawing as well
calli you inspire me so much, both your drawing skills and writing skills are INSANE, i absolutely love everything you do, you put so much passion in everything, i admire you so much
You told a really beautiful story about growth, compassion, and the value of honesty. I loved the ending, and I’m so glad that you made this series. It’s a little sad to see it ending, but I think it ended perfectly ❤️
This is just a suggestion/ video idea, but I remember and recently watched your video about “redesigning Lady Dimitrescu’s three daughters” video and I loved the ideas and concepts you came up within that video. I remember in that video you suggested the idea if tackling Lady D’s design herself and I think that’d be a neat video !
Oh my gosh!! The animatic brought me to genuine tears. That conclusion resonates so much, still crying as I write this comment. The singing and art was beautiful, thank you for sharing such a well made story made from some way less thoughtful source material. You made this so compelling, I can’t wait to see what you do next!
At first, I was really sad that the series was coming to a close. But after watching the entire video, I can say full heartily that this is it, we don't need any more additions to the story. It was extremely emotional, and I love Yui (Hanako) as a innocent character making their way to a healthy recovery. I'm also glad that Yui isn't a killable character, who in their right mind would want to kill a child? It would be pretty cool if the other rivals were created (Not for the good ending or to be rivals, but more side characters/obstacles that heighten the difficulty as each main rival/main obstacle is eliminated violently, characters that would only be relevant and significant in the genocide route), but I completely understand your reasons why you want to end the series. I'll keep coming here for the good quality content, and to continue supporting you!
Actually cried. despite what happened with yandev and yansim, I think this is what it should’ve always been if it was meant to have a proper story. I got really emotional with that animatic and the story. Great job honestly. Thank you.
I only just recently found this series but the ending animatic hit so hard. Seeing you redesign the other rivals would've been fun but im glad that the story came to a good conclusion. I'm definitely staying tuned to see what you do in the future!
I'm gonna miss the series, just cause I enjoy these redesign series. Can't wait to see more from other places though! And honestly, ending the game with just those rivals the way you have feels right. You tied it off with a nice bow and oof that ending made me cry a little in public. Very heart warming and sweet
Calli, this was an absolutely phenomenal conclusion to your story. I was absolutely blown away watching the video - not only by your honesty and accountability but by your creativity, storytelling and talent. This video was such a joy to watch and the efforts you spent to create the written portion as well as the animatics AND the song... blew me away. You had me in tears. I hope you can find more ways in the future to share your gift for storytelling. Have a great day!!!!
I wish to express how I BEYOND LOVING your series/reswrite/redesign. The moment you told your side of the story of each chararacters? LOVE IT. And the way you end the series? PERFECTLY. Your story got me so interested and I was this close 👌 to crying my eyes out, no matter how you narrate it. Just, thank you for making this series!💕💕
Thank you Calli for your wonderful series! I love how you gave Himari's kimono sunflower prints as Himari means Sunflower in English. You made the nurse and the teacher buddies and I love it! And when all the rivals and Seiya welcomes Himari from the hospital, I almost teared up. Thank you so much once more. I'll look forward to your re-design videos of other games.
Thank you so much for your hardwork!!! I want to hug Yui and Himari, they both deserve so much happiness!! The ending made me bawl my tears out, I'm so proud of Himari!! T T You're such an amazing storywriter and teller! I look forward to watching all your videos in the future!!
I know yandere sim is based on japan and so are your names but I just wanted to point out that "Yui" sounds like "vui", which is vietnamese for happy Which I would like to believe that it's a sign that Yui will live a happy life
Listening to the story at the end coupled with watching the ending animatic absolutely broke me. I had to fight tears so many times it’s not even funny. It breaks my heart to watch this series go as it’s what got me to start watching your channel, but I’m excited to see what the future holds for you. You’re both a gifted storyteller alongside artist, I know you’ll do amazing. Especially now that you’re able to put your efforts into things you actually love and care about. This series has gripped my heart, listening to the story develop more and more with each redesign video was truly masterful. But, I do agree that it makes the most sense ending with your redesign of Hanako. She is supposedly the closest person to senpai, so it only feels right.
I love this story so much,,,, It means so much to me, I just... It's not Yandere Simulator, but it's a true story, a story that connects with people... And I'm happy you made it your own! Keep being awesome
This was the cutest ending I have ever seen callimara, you have insane talent and if I could I would hire someone to make this a game. This was a wonderfull journey and I hope to see all of the other amazing stories you make in the future.
thank you so much for this series! it’s much deeper and more well thought out than alex could ever make yansim. random hc i like to believe that the neighbour who checked on seiya during his attempt was reika
As much as I'll miss the series, it's awesome you're staying true to yourself, and I kinda like that YanDev's faaavorite boring Megumi doesn't get a video òuó

Yandere dev~ 😄🔪
I think it's funny how a youtube video series has more character development and quality than a game that's been in development for 7 years
then stop following the games development?? Yandere Dev is a PERSON with emotions too why do you guys shit on his work so much- exactly its all his seven years work do you know how long its been? You guys always talk about how hes not good enough but would cry if someone did it back to your years of work
@@kyoju_hakai no one said he wasn't a person... We're just saying that he took seven years to develop the game you would think the storyline would be better than what it is...
Remember, this isn't their oc or something.
They didn't make it from scratch
And Yan dev realized too late that he was just putting random mini games & Easter eggs that now made him not finish the game

Oh my god. I love this. Every "rival" shown gave our girl the courage to pull herself together.
Reika: friendship= the quality to have someone to rely upon and be united
Mayumi: kindness= the ability to show your love with your charm and actions
Izumi: truth= be true to yourself and others who care about you
Niko: dreams= turn your fantasies to a reality
Akari: protection= know you have people who want to help you and care for you
Haruka: self love= care your yourself and others have and have the courage to look in the mirror and laugh
Yui: family= to be close to one another, in a way that they'll never leave your side
They're listed in the order they were redesigned (from what I remember, correct me if I'm wrong) so it goes:
Reika - Osana
Mayumi - Amai
Izumi - Kizana
Niko - Oka
Akari - Mida
Haruka - Muja
Yui - Hanako
Hope this helped a lil
@@halleysh thank you :D!!
I think Niko actually taugh Himari to know her own actions and question herself, so Niko should be "self-reflection"
Thankyou, indeed
Often yanderes manipulate the love interest into thinking the people who love them are against them, just like abusive partners
“Yandere Dev is many things but a ‘minor attracted person’ is not one of them”
Not to joke around but yikes that aged badly knowing what just came out about him lately.

I've just gotta say, you nailed my problems with Alex's original concept of the character perfectly.
I never really liked the younger sis character, visually. But, I couldn't really pinpoint why I didn't, until you explained it. She's really uncanny, and even *looks* real sus
With that aside, Yui is such an adorable character. Even if you don't expand much on this story you've created after this video, I love to think that, when Himari is discharged, her and Yui become best friends, in a familial sense. Yui grows her hair out to try and copy Himari's hairstyle, and Himari lets her paint her nails pretty colours and play make believe
This^
Oh, that is so adorable! ^o^
That's soo cute!
As someone who does experience delusions due to psychosis: this is true for the less harmless delusions I have(those that are not produced due to paranoia and my bad mental state)
Those "harmless" delusions are sort of used as a coping mechanism for my brain to handle reality, due to it being so bad and I know if it all was better I would be able to heal and bassically "cure" myself from my poor mental state,,,,
(Currently I am not able to do that but in the future I hopefully will, to other people who suffer the same or worse, it's going to get better!
Though I understand why you would think it would be better for her to be last
@@Inkedalic3 but a sibling bond is usually stronger, so it would make sense for the sister to be the last rival
I'm with you on this

let's all agree it was really predictable it would happen, due to his weird kinks and tastes.
ive seen a lot of people say their piece, so i'm gonna try and throw my hat into the ring as well: as someone with bpd, i have enjoyed this series immensely- i really love all the heart and thought you've put into these characters, and what you've produced has been absolutely gorgeous. at the same time, though, i can't admire your choice to end the series more; while not the same, bpd is often compared to 'yandereship' as well, and there have been points in the series where i definitely felt uncomfortable with the portrayal of mental illness, even if it's far better than anything that yandev creep could make. thank you for taking the criticism to heart, but also thank you for making such an enjoyable series. good luck with your hiatus, and i'm excited to see what you do next!
i agree with you, i dont have bpd but i cant even imagine what you must go through
Yes same here. The yandere trope is basically just bpd but sexualized and demonized. I think it might be possible to make a less stigmatizing version but i think yanderes will always be stigmatizing to some extent.
as someone with bpd, i agree! thank you for putting it into words
I'm pretty dumb so could someone kindly explain what bpd is? I googled it, but I think people with bpd would explain this better.
I’m loving the over the garden wall intro and I’ll miss this series but I’m excited for what else you’ll do
walking into this series of revamps, i was not expecting to get attached to the characters, but that end animatic just got me, and I almost cried. The singing, the music, the art, everything about it was so heartwarming that it makes me feel for himari. good job on the story calli, i am for sure looking forward to what you have in the future

In my case, I did cry

I understand why you're stopping this series, but I've loved all of the redesigns and I don't think it was cringy at all. The ending wrapped up really well and I've actually felt a little emotional watching and listening to it (which is more than I say for Yansim).
yeah the only one i really had a problem with was her original design for Yandere-chan and she fixed it in literally the next video
I didn't think they were cringy either

AHHHHHHHHHHH THE ENDING ITS SO GOOD SO WHOLESOME I LOVE IT SHE DID IT!
He chose Hanako because it’s one of the most common girl names (Like how Taro is one of the most common boy names)
Basically, she and senpai are the blandest siblings
As far as I am aware Taro & Hanako can be compared to John & Jane. I think this is what her name is refering to :)
@@unpopulargoose The two names have similar meanings in terms of nature and "son or daughter", but they are different from the names of all the other characters.
@@lyssaflynn7598 In a game where all the characters have names that match something they have, these two really are different.

I'm actually kind of glad you stopped where you did, otherwise the story would get as repetitive as Yansim's. I've really enjoyed the series, but making content out of something that's so bad and that you hate is kind of... dragging it.

I love that the good ending of this story involves making friends and actually getting better mentally, it's a very sweet and actually heartwarming take on the original concept
It's really evolved to it's own story separate from YanSim and I love that, would love to see the story continue on in some way. Like a webcomic or as you said, a light novel
Also the animatic made me cry ngl,,
Also also, you ended up using so many of my favorite Japanese names for these characters, especially Yui, I adore that name to bits!! Have my own Yui, but she's not nearly as tooth rottingly adorable as this one haha, tho I should draw her more,,

I’m going to throw in my own two cents here:
I genuinely enjoy your rewrite of the series.

That's _life._
Your portrayal doesn't paint Himari as objectively good or objectively bad.
The person who's just...a person with some really hard brain stuff going on.😮
I dunno, I'm sorry, that was long. This isn't to try and get you to ✨️ revive the series ✨️ or anything, especially with recent events. It was just a thought. Or a lot of thoughts, I guess. A lot of thoughts that I'm not even sure made sense lol. 😅
Edit: Also, this isn't to say that the character or real people with mental illnesses shouldn't be held accountable for their actions.
Just something to think about!♡
God this has made me sob hard😭😭😭
Even though it's supposed to be about a yandere game, The story is so good!!!
Be it this or any other projects
(Also, wow, that ending story broke me, it was very beautiful)
Also, I see you enjoy Cookie Run, and I'm very curious what you have to say about it- I really like it and lately have been playing a lot of Kingdom! The characters are awesome~
as someone with psychosis, thank you for acknowledging the harmful tropes and stigmas around it
I'm really glad that you're stepping up and knowing when to stop. To be honest, i think creating content like this- while is entertaining, is stopping you from making your channel bigger than it is. I hope that you find more fun in creating more varying works as well. Good luck with your final placement!
Didn't Yandev literally groom someone? He's definitely a MAP.
IDK, but he did tell someone a death threat.
I personally didn’t mind the storyline u did, even if u were unintentionally pushing the pacifist route ( that’s mostly because I’m not a fan of the yandere trope ) but I do understand the whole misinterpretation of mental health when it comes to yanderes would be a big problem
Well, I was kinda hoping for you to finish the series but you don't have to, but I'm still excited for what will happen next!!
God that ending was a feels trip. The song really fit. I can imagine how much detail could go into it if it were to be an actual game. I respect your decision on this and hope you work on more great stuff!

I'm sad that it's ended, but this was a perfect ending, like that was so satisfying!!!
I wasn't expecting that deep dive into the story when i saw the first redesign from you but it turned out to be SO GOOD
i will cry bc yui deserves better, but i'm glad she had a happy event :3
for the cookie run question thingy, i love pumpkin pie cookie ((crk)), black garlic cookie ((crob)), strawberry crepe ((crk)), and strawberry cookie ((both))
im sad to see this series go because i cannot explain to you how much it touched me. imagining your characters in the scenarios you described in their videos was so fun and the end made me cry a lot, its truely beautiful what you’ve made out of a story that was previously shallow n pedestrian… but im so happy to see u move on to things you actually enjoy in the future!
Even after this series I've been watching a bunch of your other content.
dude is definitely a MAP, its wild to say otherwise.
He was proven to be one like a couple weeks ago I think
1:24-1:32 the irony now
Sad the series is over, but it's amazing regardless! I personally think Yui (your 'Hanako') is a great character, good design!!
As a person with mental illness and some hospital trauma, I love this concept and story. It's a story of growth and hope, and it gives me hope that I could be better some day.
i cried at the ending oml
you made something that was a terrible killing game
to an amazing story
you really should make this into like a choice game kinda like episode
Or just a series on youtube cuz honestly its difficult to make me cry from a video
I love this ending, IMO the other rivals weren’t truely needed anyway
I'll miss this series, but I'm glad it happened.
I'm glad you made these characters and story that I fell in love with, and the good end animatic almost made me cry.
It's bittersweet, but I can always go back and watch these videos, and continue watching your channel progress ♥️
1:28 lmao that aged so poorly - ya had too much faith in him, calli TpT ALSO MY FAVORITE COOKIE IS SEA FAIRY, MY QUEEN
This had to be the one of the best yandere sim revamp series :)) kinda sad that it's ending now
I AM SPEED! ALSO-
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS CUZ THE INCEST SISTER SCARED ME SO MUCH....
Edit- HOL UP- THIS IS THE LAST ONE?!! I'M GONNA MISS THIS SERIES😭💔
Edit no2 - honestly, I was only sticking around to yansim cuz I loved your redesigns and whatever you were coming up with... Not really into yansim but you kept me hooked! I will still keep supporting your channel cuz I genuinely love your videos! I look forward to what you do in the future
The animatic at the end made me cry, so touching! I can hear everyone shout "welcome back himari!"
I’m gonna cryyy this is so sweet. Himari, Seiya, Yui. This is what yandere simulator should’ve been
The scene you wrote made me really happy, Yui is adorable and the writing pulls at the heart strings.
Yeah I binged the whole "redesigning Yandere-sim" series in like two days and it was pretty cool and entertaining and kept me calm and helped my anxiety so what
Nice reimagining! Cool to listen to while drawing as well
Your story writing is remarkable, and this sounds like a plot I can actually get behind.
calli you inspire me so much, both your drawing skills and writing skills are INSANE, i absolutely love everything you do, you put so much passion in everything, i admire you so much
You told a really beautiful story about growth, compassion, and the value of honesty.
That ending. That was amazing, I'm actually tearing up. Perfect end to the series if you ask me. Great job Callimara! ^-^
1:24 Comming from the latest Yandev video... This statement aged like rotten milk 😂🤦🏻♀️
IKR LMAO
It’s so awesome seeing how far your art has come you get a 10/10 in story telling ❤️
1:25 I cackled at this dude. That aged so unfortunately…😭😭
I know yandere sim is based on japan and so are your names but I just wanted to point out that "Yui" sounds like "vui", which is vietnamese for happy
Which I would like to believe that it's a sign that Yui will live a happy life
Listening to the story at the end coupled with watching the ending animatic absolutely broke me.
Aw, I love this character, she kinda reminds me of Nanako from Persona 4! ^-^
Well if this is ending.
Sits up.
FANFICTION WRITERS TO YOUR KEYBOARDS!!!!
thank you so much for this series! it’s much deeper and more well thought out than alex could ever make yansim.
random hc i like to believe that the neighbour who checked on seiya during his attempt was reika
As much as I'll miss the series, it's awesome you're staying true to yourself, and I kinda like that YanDev's faaavorite boring Megumi doesn't get a video òuó
